A Parametric Voice Activity Detection Based on the SPD-TE for Nonstationary Noises (비정체성 잡음을 위한 SPD-TE 기반 계수형 음성 활동 탐지)

  • A single channel VAD (Voice Activity Detection) algorithm for nonstationary noise environment is proposed in this paper. Threshold values of the feature parameter for VAD decision are updated adaptively based on estimates of means and standard deviations of past non-speech frames. The feature parameter, SPD-TE (Spectral Power Difference-Teager Energy), is obtained by applying the Teager energy to the WPD (Wavelet Packet Decomposition) coefficients. It was reported previously that the SPD-TE is robust to noise as a feature for VAD. Experimental results by using TIMIT speech and NOISEX-92 noise databases show that decision accuracy of the proposed algorithm is comparable to several typical VAD algorithms including standards for SNR values ranging from 10 to -10 dB.

Subject Region-Based Auto-Focusing Algorithm Using Noise Robust Focus Measure (잡음에 강인한 초점 값을 이용한 피사체 중심의 자동초점 알고리듬)

  • In this paper we present subject region-based auto-focusing algorithm using noise robust focus measure. The proposed algorithm automatically estimates the main subject using entropy and solves the traditional problems with a subject position or high frequency component of background image. We also propose a new focus measure by analyzing the discrete cosine transform coefficients. Experimental results show that the proposed method is more robust to Gaussian and impulse noises than the traditional methods. The proposed algorithm can be applied to Pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras in the intelligent video surveillance system.

  • 본 논문에서는 2차 통계치를 이용하여 패널추징 및 등화 기법을 제안하였다. 기존의 채널 추정 알고리듬은 잡음이 없는 환경에서 LS방법을 이용하기 때문에 잡음이 강한 패널에서는 원하는 성능을 얻을 수 없는 단점이 있다. 수신신호의 상관행렬의 최소 고유값에 대응하는 고유벡터는 채널의 임펄스 응답에 관한 정보를 포함하고 있다. 이러한 고유 벡터를 매시간마다 갱신시키면서 구하는 적응 알고리듬을 제안하고 이를 이용하여 블라인드 채널 추정 및 등화기 파라미터를 추정하였다. 제안한 알고리듬은 잡음에 강인한 특성을 보일 뿐 아니라 기존의 알고리듬들 보다 우수한 채널 추정 및 등화 성능을 모의 실험을 통하여 검증하였다.

Robust Code Acquisition System in Rayleigh Fading Channel (Rayleigh 페이딩 채널에서 강인한 동기 획득 시스템)

  • In this paper, we perform a performance analysis of serial acquisition scheme using AWGN rejection filter in Rayleigh fading channel and propose robust acquisition scheme using Reference filter, which is utilized to vary threshold at fading rate, in Rayleigh fading channel. AWGN rejection filter is utilized to evaluate running average for compensating channel gain. The JAKE model, which a channel model, is used for the analysis. The simulation result shows that the mean acquisition time of the proposed acquisition system is minimized than acquisition system using AWGN rejection filter and serial-search acquisition system.

  • 오실로메트릭 방법으로 휴대용 혈압 측정 시 빈번하게 발생하는 잡음에 의한 오실레이션 신호의 왜곡을 줄이기 위해 새로운 잡음 제거 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 제안된 잡음 제거 알고리즘은 선형 예측기 구조 기반의 적응 필터를 이용한다. 제안된 잡음 제거알고리즘의 성능을 평가하기 위해 왜곡된 오실레이션 신호에 선형보간법을 사용하는 기존의 방법과 적응 필터를 사용하는 제안된 방법을 적용하여 잡음 제거 성능을 비교하였다. 제안된 방법은 잡음이 오실레이션과 중첩되어 나타난 경우에 기존의 방법과 달리 잡음에 강인한 특징을 보여주었다.

  • The railway point machine is an especially important component that changes the traveling direction of a train. Failure of the point machine may cause a serious railway accident. Therefore, early detection of failures is important for the management of railway condition monitoring systems. In this paper, we propose a noise-robust anomaly detection method in railway condition monitoring systems using sound data. First, we extract feature vectors from the spectrogram image of sound signals and convert it into modulation feature to ensure robust performance, and lastly, use the support vector machine (SVM) as an early anomaly detector of railway point machines. By the experimental results, we confirmed that the proposed method could detect the anomaly conditions of railway point machines with acceptable accuracy even under noisy conditions.

  • The focusing system is an important factor to determine the imaging quality of a digital imaging system. The focusing system consist of measuring the focusing index with high frequency energy of an image and controlling the movement of the focusing lens based on the computed focusing index. The computation of the focusing index is a key aspect in implementing the focusing system and the noise of the image cause the error in the sharpness evaluation of the image. To reduce this error, the noise under the low illumination condition is considered. A noise insensitive focusing index using adaptive weights is proposed in this paper. This measure determines the sharpness of an image using the spatially adaptive weights based on the local statistics of the image and noise. Experimental results under the condition without and with the noise verify the performance of the proposed method.

  • 본 논문에서는 남성의 하반신을 촬영한 MRI 영상으로부터 전립선을 분할하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 우선 3 차원 입체 영상을 학습하기 위해 3D 컨볼루션 계층(convolutional layer) 및 3D 풀링 계층(pooling layer)에 기반한 네트워크를 제안한다. 다음으로 네트워크의 최후단에 해당하는 전연결 계층(fully connected layer)의 강인한 학습을 돕는 잡음 계층을 제안한다. 잡음 계층은 네트워크의 학습 파라미터 혹은 출력 영상에 가우시안 잡음를 더함으로써 드롭 아웃과 같이 훈련 영상에 대한 과적합(overfitting)을 막고 테스트 영상에 강인한 네트워크의 학습을 돕는다. 마지막으로 실험을 통해 제안하는 기법이 기존 기법에 비해 우수한 분할 성능을 보임을 확인한다.

A Selection Method of Reliable Codevectors using Noise Estimation Algorithm (잡음 추정 알고리즘을 이용한 신뢰성 있는 코드벡터 조합의 선정 방법)

  • Speech enhancement has been required as a preprocessor for a noise robust speech recognition system. Codebook-based Speech Enhancement (CBSE) is highly robust in nonstationary noise environments compared with conventional noise estimation algorithms. However, its performance is severely degraded for the codevector combinations that have lower correlation with the input signal since CBSE depends on the trained codebook information. To overcome this problem, only the reliable codevector combinations are selected to be used to remove the codevector combinations that have lower correlation with input signal. The proposed method produces the improved performance compared to the conventional CBSE in terms of Log-Spectral Distortion (LSD) and Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality (PESQ).

  • This paper describes a sensorless control scheme for brushless dc motors(BLDCMs) using a phase shifter(FIPS) which can shift the zero-crossing point of the input signal with a specified amount of phase. The detection performance of the proposed FIPS is independent of the frequency of the input signal and quite robust with respect to the measurement noise. It is shown that the proposed sensorless control scheme using the FIPS is more effective in the respects of noise-robustness and cost than the previously known schemes. The generality and practicality of the proposed sensorless control scheme is demonstrated through performance analysis and experiments under various operating conditions.
