The aim of this study was to find out how the activity and the effect of the service of school library assistance is done. To this end, a library in S high school was visited, and interviews were conducted with regard to the student assistants to find out how the selection of new members, operating organization and activities are done. Also, a survey was conducted to examine the service activity and satisfaction level with regard to 77 student assistants in libraries of four high schools. In addition, a survey was conducted to find out the satisfaction level of the service provided by the student assistants in the school library with regard to 386 general students. The study results showed that the satisfaction level of the student assistants in the school library was high, and the satisfaction level of the service provided by the student assistants in the school library was positive.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the level of occupational stress and emotional intelligence in hospice volunteers. Methods: Participants were 158 hospice volunteers at hospitals in B city. Occupational stress, emotional intelligence, and general characteristics of hospice volunteers were measured. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-tests, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficients. Results: The mean score for occupational stress was 2.16 points out of 4 and 4.65 out of 7 for emotional intelligence. The scores for occupational stress and emotional intelligence were significantly different by educational level and monthly income in hospice volunteers. Occupational stress was negatively correlated with emotional intelligence (r=-0.196, P=0.013). Conclusion: A continuous educational program is needed to offer volunteers with new hospice-related trends. To ensure quality care for patients and their families, it should be helpful to encourage hospice volunteers to build a social network to enhance their emotional intelligence.

In the knowledge society the main resource is knowledge, and the role of library to manage knowledge and information is very important. Therefore it is necessary to knowledge and information management that provides on demand service to user. The purpose of this research is to design model for web-based help-desk knowledge management system. This study used Qualitative methods as interviews and surveys through BBS and e-mail on information service in the university libraries. Here the investigated component factors are followings Q/A service user's education service to use the library, user's online reference service, e-mail service, FAQ service electronic service(BBS), lecture and research service for faculty, my library, SDI service, and open data service. In recent years, various activities have been carried out in terms of talent donation for community together. This study suggests curriculum model about talent donation program centered on beauty majors. The key elements revealed in previous literature studies were used as educational contents of this study. The program presented in this study can be used to expand talent donations by beauty talent. The curriculum of the program for community together consisted of talent donation goals, teaching and learning methods, and evaluation items. This training program is divided into understanding area of talent donation and technique area of skin beauty.

This study conducted research on the actual condition of multicultural education in universities and multicultural competence among university students. The overall results are discussed by two sections as follows: The average score of multicultural competence is 3.49, above moderate. The students who rate their multicultural competence high are those who have been abroad, lived in aborad, had foreign friends, or had communicative ability in foreign languages. There were significant differences in multicultural competence among students based on gender and major. Based on the overall results of the study, the several suggestions were made by the researcher as follows: Universities should support students' overseas volunteer program and encourage students to participate in domestic volunteer program for multicultural background groups.

This study is to understand how experiences of, knowledge of, and attitude toward the aged affect consciousness of supporting the aged among students of social welfare. 702 students majoring in social welfare at university in the capital and regional area were selected for this study from May to June, 2011. The result revealed that there are factors affecting consciousness of supporting the aged such as their attitude, physical ad physiological knowledge, and volunteer experiences and positive experiences in cohabitation with the aged. On the basis of these results, it is expected that the outcomes of this study will contribute to promote the students' consciousness about supporting the aged.

This study has been surveyed the establishment and operation of nature observation facilities in the urban ecological open space of Eastern Area, Japan. Major nature observation facilities were visitor centers, nature trails and environmental facilities of nature trail. Also, interpretation as an approach to communicating and understanding of nature was progressed variously in study sites. Interpreters were park rangers and naturalists and volunteers. Major activities of the volunteers were the interpretation, environmental management and monitoring, and communication paper publication. The education materials for self-guiding of ecological open space were from two types to four types. In the advertisement methods, the advertisement through the notice paper of metropolitan, city, and destrict was the most and internet homepage, electronic communication bullentin of district, cable TV, and fax service were utilized in the four survey sites.

Kim et al. (2006) analyzed the donation data surveyed by Voluneteer 21 in year 2002 at South Korea using a Poisson regression based on the mixture of two Poissons and detected significant variables for affecting the number of donations. However, noting the large deviation between the predicted and the actual frequencies of zero, we developed in this note a Poisson regression model based on a distribution in which zero inflated Poisson was added to the mixture of two Poissons. Thus the population distribution is now a mixture of three Poissons in which one component is concentrated on zero mass. We used the EM algorithm for estimating the regression parameters and detected the same variables with Kim et al's for significantly affecting the response. However, we could estimate the proportion of the fixed zero group to be 0.201, which was the characteristic of this model. We also noted that among two significant variables, the income and the volunteer experience(yes, no), the second variable could be utilized as a strategric variable for promoting the donation.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate satisfaction in major and job esteem of college students in dental hygiene and nursing department according to volunteering. Methods : This study was used on a descriptive research design. participants of this study were 378 college students in some region from April 30th to May 21th. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS Program(version 20.0) using descriptive statistics. Results : Volunteering experience subjects was 24.3%, the subjects did not experience volunteering was 75.7% and volunteering related to major was 59.8% and it was 40.2% of unrelated volunteering. Volunteering experience by general characteristics was influenced significantly by grade(p= .000), major(p= .000), economic status(p= .007). Volunteering experience by major relevant characteristics of subjects was not influenced significantly. The major satisfaction by volunteering was a little higher on volunteering experience subjects than non-experienced subjects. and was not influenced difference significantly(p= .786). The job esteem by volunteering was higher volunteering experience subjects than non-experienced subjects and was influenced significantly(p=.005). Conclusions : College students majoring in the department of dental hygiene and nursing is somewhat lower the volunteering experience. The major satisfaction and job esteem of college students was influenced by volunteering. therefore, the need to plan ways to increase participation and provide information and opportunities is to invigorate the function of the volunteering service which is also considered as one of the functions of the university.

The purpose of this study is to discuss an academic concept transition of volunteer firefighting after implementation of the "Volunteer Fire Brigade Establishment & Operation Act". For that, the definition, function, and support of member for the volunteer fire brigade and the quasi-public organization were compared and analyzed using laws and its implementing ordinances, local ordinances, references, etc. In results, we can consider the definition of the volunteer fire brigade in relation to that of the quasi-public organization. In addition, it showed that the volunteer fire brigade have the function of the sub-administrative organization in the quasi-public organization. The support of volunteer firefighting was very similar to that of the village foreman as example of the sub-administrative organization. In conclusion, an academic concept of the volunteer firefighting was translated from the general volunteer organization to the sub-administrative organization in the quasi-public organization. The result in this paper is expected to serve as a basis for the research of the volunteer fire department in Korea.
