Development of Leakage-free Automatic Discharge Connector in a Submersible Pump. (수중펌프의 Leakage-free 자동탈착장치 개발)

  • ADC (Automatic Discharge Connector) is commonly used for the easy maintenance of the submersible pumps. However, the small gap between the flange of the base plate and that of the pipe due to the head rise, the flow momentum change and the mis-installation make a leakage flow that may be a great loss to the pumping system. In this study, the performance degradation was predicted with the simple leakage flow model through the gap. The newly developed ADC was tested, and the leakage performance was compared with the old one and also no-leakage piping system. The newly developed ADC reduced the leakage flow in a satisfactory way in comparison with the old model.

  • A flow characteristics of automotive oil pump of gerotor type has been investigated numerically. For the simulation of gerotor that have different rotating velocity at inner rotor and outer rotor, node expansion and contraction method was adopted. ASI (Arbitrary Sliding Interfaces) method was also applied at interface between rotating gerotor and stationary volute. The present results showed good agreement with the experimental data.

A Design of an Automatic Current Correcting Charge-Pump using Replica Charge Pump with Current Mismatch Detection (부정합 감지 복제 전하 펌프를 이용한 자동 전류 보상 전하 펌프의 설계)

  • This paper presents a charge pump architecture for correcting the current mismatch due to the PVT variation. In general, the current mismatch of the charge pump should be minimized to improve the phase noise and spur performance of the PLL. In order to correct the current mismatch of the charge pump, the current difference is detected by the replica charge pump and fed back into the main charge pump. This scheme is very simple and guarantees the high accuracy compared with the prior works. Also, it shows a good dynamic performance because the mismatch is corrected continuously. It is implemented in 0.13um CMOS process and the die area is $100{\mu}m\;{\times}\;160{\mu}m$. The voltage swing is from 0.2V to 1V at supply voltage of 1.2V. The charging and discharging currents are $100{\mu}A$, respectively and the current mismatch due to the PVT variation is less than 1%.

  • The fuel pump mounted on the engine in the vehicle is consist of the outer and inter rotors, and which inhales fuel from the inlet port and supplies it to the outlet port. In this study, it is carried out the analysis and test of the fuel pump with rotors to evaluate its performance. It is analyzed the flow characteristics of the fuel pumps with numerical simulation in their inlet-outlet angles of 0, 15, 30 degree. After it is determined whether it has the best flow characteristics, its vibration characteristics is analyzed. The flow rate of a pump in the inlet-outlet angles of 0 degree is 191.0 LPH(Liter per hour) which is the largest. and its vibration is calculated to be 0.866 $^m/s^2$. In the results of vibration test, it is known that the vibration of the research pump is smaller than that of the existing one. And the natural frequencies of two pumps is nearly same. Therefore it is known that the performance of the research pump is superior.

  • 화력발전소 보일러의 급수량은 유출되는 증기량에 맞추어 자동 조절된다. 유출 증기량이 변하는 상황에서도 이에 상응하는 급수량은 실시간으로 조절되어야 한다. 증기량과 급수량에 차이가 있으면 보일러의 보유 수량과 드럼의 수위가 변하게 되므로, '드림수위를 일정하게 유지하는 것'이 급수량제어의 목표라고 할 수 있다. 본 논문은 실제 운용되고 있는 설비를 대상으로 고찰한 내용이며, 급수펌프 구동력으로는 중기터빈을 사용한다. 증기터빈과 급수펌프는 같은 축으로 연결되어있으며, 급수량 조절은 급수펌프의 회전속도를 제어함으로써 이루어진다. 터빈에 사응되는 증기는, 고압과 저압 2종류이며, 저압 증기가 부족한 경우에 고압증기를 사용하는 구성으로 되어있다. 증기 밸브의 유량 특성에는 비선형성을 많이 포함하고 있었다. 이 외에도 급수펌프가 갖는 비선형성을 분석하였으며, 이 특성들을 모두 종합한 '증기터빈 속도제어기 튜닝 곡선'을 제시하였다

A Study on the Performance Prediction of Automotive Water Pump with Double Discharge Single Suction (자동차용 양토출 단흡입 워터펌프의 성능 예측에 관한 연구)

  • A Numerical analysis has been used to predict the performance in the automotive water pump with double discharge single suction. The influence of parameters such as coolant flow rate, rotational speed, ratio of blade height and clearance has been investigated. Also, the prediction of hydraulic performances such as static pressure rise, shaft power, hydraulic power and pump efficiency is carried out on the water pump including an impeller and a volute casing. A full size water pump test bench has been developed to validate the CFD flow model. Discharge flow rate, suction pressure, discharge pressure, rotational speed and torque measurements are provided. Coolant temperature is 8$0^{\circ}C$, water tank pressure is 1 kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and flow rates vary.

  • 자동차용 메타놀 연료는 석유파동 이후의 석유 대체연료라는 관점에 저공해 연료의 관점이 추가 되어 최근 그 도입에 대한 연구가 활발해지고 있다. 메타놀 자동차에 관해서는 종래의 기초검토 의 단계로부터 서서히 실용화를 향한 내구, 신뢰성을 포함한 많은 과제의 검토단계로 이행되고 있다. 수소엔진의 연구는 아직 초보단계에 있으며 안전성에 대해서는 일반이 염려하고 있는 것과 같은 위험성은 없지만 금후 자동차용으로서의 안전성에 관한 실험이 필요할 것이다. 수소의 장 점을 살려 결점을 없애기 위해서는 LH2탱크, LH2펌프 4사이클 실린더내 분사가 이상적으로 생 각되고 있다.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a structural analysis system of LNG pump tower structure. The system affords to build optimized finite element model and procedure of the pump tower structure. The pump tower structure is one of the most important components of LNG (liquefied natural gas) carriers. The pump tower structure is subject to sloshing load of LNG induced by ship motion depending on filling ratio. Three typer of loading components, which are thermal, inertia and self-gravity are considered in the analysis. The finite element analysis is performed with ANSYS commercial code. The failure of each members can be evaluated of API unity and punching shear in ABS rule. The GUI is newly developed using Tcl/tk script language. All these design and analysis procedures are embedded in to the analysis system successfully.

Development of a constant pressure feed system using a constant pressure proportional control mode (정압비례제어방식을 적용한 정압급수장치의 개발)

  • Automatic feed pumps are operated and stopped by a pressure switch. Thus, because of repeated operations and stops of the pumps according to fluctuations of water volume, operation with constant rate and pressure is impossible. Moreover, because of repeated running of the pump, keeping up of constant pressure is impossible and damage and energy loss are weak points of the pimps. To make up for defects of an automatic feed pump, this paper designed and made a static pressure feed system which was composed of a feed water control valve, a flow sensor and a control system. The valve device plays an important part in reducing load of pumps by constant water supply regardless of outflow of water. Outflow of water is determined by infrared diode of the flow sensor. The control system is made of a 8 bit micro-processor and the pump was controled by a specific control algorithm. With the constant pressure feed system, discharge pressure was kept at fixed pressure, accurate operations and stops were smoothly accomplished and the pump was operated with constant pressure. Thus, the constant pressure feed system can be considered as an advanced system which made up for the weak points in the current automatic feed systems.
