Evaluation Standard for Safety of Autonomous Cars: UL 4600 (자율주행자동차를 위한 안전성 평가 표준: UL 4600)

  • This paper describes UL 4600, a new international safety standard to ensure safety of autonomous cars. Conventional vehicular safety standards such as ISO 26262 and ISO/PAS 21448 suffer from large limitations to be applied to autonomous cars, but UL 4600 exploits new approaches to be applied to autonomous cars. Conventional standards define various technological aspects to ensure safety and require manufacturers to certify these aspects. On the contrary, UL 4600 requires manufacturer to explain and prove why autonomous cars are safe. In UL 4600, (1) under specific environments where the system is designed to operate with, (2) claims should be defined to guarantee given safety, and (3) arguments should be suggested to satisfy given goals, and (3) evidences should be presented to prove given arguments. UL 4600 is technology-neutral since it does not require specific designs nor technologies. So UL 4600 only requires manufacturers to prove given safety goals regardless of methods and technologies. Also UL 4600 admits various cases of autonomous car field operations into the standard via feedback loop. So UL 4600 effectively maneuvers various dangers unknown at the time of standard establishment.

Operational Design Domain for Testing of Autonomous Shuttle on Arterial Road (도시부 자율주행셔틀 실증을 위한 운행설계영역 분석: 안양시를 중심으로)

  • The ongoing development of autonomous driving-related technology may cause different kinds of accidents while testing new changes. As a result, more information on ODD suitable for the domestic road environment will be necessary to prevent safety accidents. Besides, implementation of the Autonomous Vehicle Act will increase autonomous driving demonstrations on roads currently in use. This study describes an ODD for demonstrating an autonomous driving shuttle in downtown areas. It addresses a possible scenario of autonomous driving around a downtown road in Anyang. Geometric, operational, and environmental factors are considered while maintaining a domestic road environment and safety. Autonomous driving shuttles are demonstrated in 30 nodes, each identified by node type and signal-communication. Link criteria are an autonomous driving restriction in 42 morning peak (8-9am) hours, 39 non-peak (12-13pm) hours, and 40 afternoon peak (18-19pm) hours. In the future, conclusions may be considered for preliminary safety assessments of roads where autonomous driving tests are performed.

  • In order to realize a safety society in traffic accidents, Korea prepared comprehensive government-wide measures in 2017. Efforts are being made to minimize accidents while walking by children and the elderly by lowering the speed limit in urban areas from 60 km to 50 km and limiting the vehicle to 30 km in the case of child protection zones. In this study, after pre-processing each data with the status of vehicle registration and traffic accident spatial data (GIS) by designating a specific area, Danyang-gun, where the rate of child traffic accidents is increasing every year, it is intended to understand the structure of the data and find out the structural pattern of the data analytical studies were conducted.

Integration of UTIS and WIS information for Determining Speed Limits of Variable Speed Limit System (가변속도제한시스템의 제한속도 결정을 위한 UTIS 정보와 기상정보 연계방안)

  • There has been a strong demand for providing diverse services to drivers utilizing existing ITS infrastructure. To this end, this study is aiming at improving the accuracy of a variable speed limit system by determining recommended speeds for the system utilizing the information from Urban Traffic Information System(UTIS) and Weather Information System(WIS). In order to determine appropriate speed limits under inclement weather conditions for the variable speed limit system, this study examined three methods: i) the method utilizing the information from WIS, ii) the method utilizing the information from UTIS, and iii) the method which combines the information from WIS and UTIS using different weights for diverse weather conditions. Finally, this study selected the third method which determines an appropriate speed limit using the relationship between the vehicle operating speed and the minimum stopping distance which is estimated using the existing speed limit, surface coefficient of friction and superelevation.

Safety Identification Lamp Visibility of Micro Cars (초소형전기차의 안전식별등 시인성에 관한 연구)

  • Interest in micro cars is growing around the world, and policy support for micro cars has been increasing in Korea. It is important to meet minimum safety standards for the operation of micro cars on roads due to concerns around micro car safety and the limited driving range of micro cars. In this study, visibility experiments that included safety identification of micro cars were conducted to try and prevent a decrease in driver reaction time. Safety identification lights were installed to the rear of a micro car, and the visibility and discomfort of the vehicle were evaluated to determine whether the micro car was safe to drive on an expressway. As a result, the installation effect of Micro car which install safety identification lamp was found when joining the point at an acceleration lane of the grade separation intersection, and that light on/off could be effective when entering an expressway. If the micro car operation plan proposed in this study is applied, the safety of micro cars on expressways can be increased by improving the visibility of micro car.

운전 습관 개선을 위한 위험 운전 분석 어플리케이션의 설계 및 구현

  • 디지털 운행기록장치는 대한민국의 경우 2011년부터 상용차에 대해 법령으로 장착이 의무화되었다. 이 장치는 자동차의 속도, 주행거리, 브레이크 상태, GPS 위지청보 등을 수집하는 기록 장치로서 이를 통해 수집된 정보로 운전 형태를 파악하고 분석해준다. 그러나 초기 장치 구입비용과 전송 방식에 따른 월별 통신서비스 비용 때문에 일반 운전자의 사용이 제한된다. 따라서 본 연구는 일반 운전자도 위험운전행동을 분석하고 파악하여, 결과를 제공하는 스마트폰 어플리케이션의 설계 및 구현을 목적으로 한다. ECU(Electronic Control Unit)에서 얻을 수 있는 주행 데이터(가속 제동, 속도, 운전 시간 등)를 OBD-II(On-Board Diagnostic version II) Scanner를 통해 수집한다. 이 정보를 바탕으로 위험운전평가 알고리즘을 이용하여 실시간 분석한다. 상기 알고리즘은 대한민국의 교통안전공단에서 제공하는 위험운전(11종)에 대한 정의를 바탕으로 한다. 이를 통해 분석된 결과는 실시간으로 사용자에게 제공되며, SQLite를 이용하여 DB에 저장되고 통신사의 이동통신(3G,4G) 혹은 Wifi의 네트워크를 이용하여 연계 서버에 전송된다. 이 위험 운전 분석 어플리케이션을 통해 운전자들의 안전 운전을 유도하고자하며, 추후 운전습관 연계 보험의 도입에 따라 합리적이고 공정한 데이터를 제공하고자 한다.

Crash Safety Evaluation of LNG Fuel Containers for Vehicles using ANSYS Explicit Dynamics (ANSYS Explicit Dynamics 해석을 활용한 차량용 LNG 용기의 충돌안전성 평가)

  • With the emergence of environmental problems caused by fine dust worldwide, LNG, which is cheaper and less pollution than diesel, is attracting attention as the next generation energy of automobiles and is expanding its supply. However, it is difficult to operate smoothly due to the lack of infrastructure for LNG charging stations in Korea and the limited size of containers that can be installed according to regulations. In Korea, research and development on the contents of containers for the smooth operation of natural gas vehicles are underway, but there is a problem that the container directly receives the impact of the vehicle collision and explodes, causing a major disaster. Therefore, in this study, the safety of the container was verified by deriving the strain and stress values through ANSYS Explicit Dynamics analysis. As a result, a maximum stress of 565.37MPa occurred in the container, and it is expected that plastic deformation will occur as it exceeds the yield stress of STS304 used as a material for the container, which is beyond 505MPa. When an impact caused by a collision between a vehicle and a container is applied, it is considered necessary to design a support or reinforcement because the container may be damaged or defective.

교통량에 따른 배기가스량 산정에 관한 연구 -교차로를 중심으로-

  • 현재 서울은 교통사고문제, 교통혼잡문제와 자동차로부터 배출되는 유해가스에 의한 대기환경오염문제를 갖고 있다. 본 논문의 목적은 대기환경오염을 악화시키는 자동차의 주된 배출오염가스인 일산화탄소, 탄화수소 및 질소화합물량을 교차로 교통량을 중심으로 어떻게 계산하는가에 있다. 연구의 대상지역은 서울시의 송파구 교차로들과 도심지역의 링크들을 선택하였다. 그리고 교통량, 지체시간, 링크길이, 정지회수, 운행속도, 주행속도 등을 고려하여, 제작차 배출가스 허용기준, 총량기준, 불량차 기준, 속도기준 등에 의한 계수산정 및 TRAF-NETSIM에 의한 시뮬레이션을 통하여 일정 도로상의 제한된 범위내의 배출량 산출을 시도하였다. 본 연구의 결과에 의하면 첫째, 어느 방법이든 실제배출량의 정확한 값을 표현 할 수는 없는 것이고, 단지 상대적인 비교에 의하면 배출가스량의 수준을 추정 할 수 있었다. 또한, 시뮬레이션 배출율표를 우리 현실에 맞는 자료에 의해 수정할 수 있다면, 그 결과는 실제량에 보다 근접할 수 있을 것이다. 둘째, 서울도로의 현재 혼잡상태에서 속도의 저감에 배출량이 민감한 반응을 보이고 있다는 사실이다. 셋째, 교통량변화에 따른 배출량의 변화가 일산화탄소에서 가장 심하게 나타남을 알 수 있었고, 신호운영상의 옵셋값이 잘못 설정되면 탄화수소는 35%, 일산화탄소는 40%, 질소산화물은 75%까지 초과발생할 수 있으며, 유해배출가스량을 최소화시키는 측면에서의 신호최적화를 위해서는 현재의 Stop Penalty는 상향 조정되어야 함이 밝혀졌다. 앞으로는 자동차로 인한 대기환경오염 농도의 저감을 위해서는 도로별 자동차 유해가스 배출 총량규제 방안도 고려해 볼 가치가 있으며, 이를 위해 환경공학과 교통공학의 다학제적 공동연구가 지속적으로 필요하며 교통정책에 반영되어야 할 것이다.분석, 리용수 학모형대이십일세기상해항공운량진행예측, 제출발전상해항공운수적전 략목표급발전중점. 예측2020년 상해항공항총객운탄토량4300만인/년, 화운량달120만돈; 2050년객운량장달18150만인차/년, 화운량518만돈. 사, 발전상해민항기출경제정책, 제출위료$\ll$진흥상해, 개발포동, 복무전국, 면향세계$\gg$ 화도이십일세기중기국민경제달도중등발달국가수 평굉관전략목표적실현, 제료필수재지도사상상파교통운수진정방도전략 산업지위, 환응재관리체제상채취과단유효적개혁조시, 재기출경제정책 상급여대력부지. 오, 전략목표, 위파상해건설성위태평양서안최대적경제, 김융, 무역적중심, 요구상해항공항성위화동지구통향세계각지항선망출발참, 구성대외개방선면축심, 실현국제항선적함접화국내항반적전항, 형성다축심복사식항선망; 가강기장건설, 개피포동제이국제기장건설, 괄응포동개발경제발전적수요. 부화개시일은 각 5월 26일과 5월 22일이었다. 11. 6월 중순에 애벌레를 대상으로 처리한 Phenthoate EC가 96.38%의 방제가로 약효가 가장 우수하였고 3월중순 및 4월중순 월동후 암컷을 대상으로 처리한 Machine oil, Phenthoate EC 및 Trichlorfon WP는 비교적 약효가 낮았다.>$^{\circ}$E/$\leq$30$^{\circ}$NW 단열군이 연구지역 내에서 지하수 유동성이 가장 높은 단열군으로 추정된다. 이러한 사실은 3개 시추공을 대상으로 실시한 시추공 내 물리검층과 정압주입시험에서도 확인된다.. Design of Truck Escape Ramps (자동차 긴급 피난 차선의 계획 설계)

  • This synthesis has been prepared from a review of literature on Truck Escape Ramps technology and a survey of current practice by state department of transportation. Their locations have been determined usually from a combination of accident experience and en-gineering judgement, but new tools are emerging that can identify needs and sites without waiting for catastrophic accidents to happen. The Grade Severity Rating Systems holds promise in this regard. Design Procedures for truck excape ramps continue to evolve. Gravel arrester beds are clearly the preferred choice across the country Rounded aggregate, uniformly graded in the approximate size range of 13 to 18mm. Tech-nical publications typically have dassified TER types as paved gravity, sandpile, and ar-rester bed ramps. The design speed for vehicle entry into the ramp in critical to the deter-mination of ramp length. An escape ramp should be designed for a minimum entry speed of 130km/hr, a 145km/hr design being preferred. The ramps should be straight and their angle to the roadway align-ment should be as possible. The grade of truck escape ramps show the adjustment of ramp design to local topography, such as the tradeoff of ramp length against earthwork requirements. A width of 9 to 12m would more safety acommodate two or more outof con-trol vehicles. Reguarding comments on the most effective material, most respondents cited their own specification or referred to single graded, rounded pea gravel. The consensus essentially Is that single graded, well -rounded gravel is the most desirable material for use in arrester beds. The arrester beds should be constructed with a minimum aggregate depth of 30cm. Successful ramps have used depths between 30 and 90cm.

Deep Learning-Based Vehicle Anomaly Detection by Combining Vehicle Sensor Data (차량 센서 데이터 조합을 통한 딥러닝 기반 차량 이상탐지)

  • In the Industry 4.0 era, artificial intelligence has attracted considerable interest for learning mass data to improve the accuracy of forecasting and classification. On the other hand, the current method of detecting anomalies relies on traditional statistical methods for a limited amount of data, making it difficult to detect accurate anomalies. Therefore, this paper proposes an artificial intelligence-based anomaly detection methodology to improve the prediction accuracy and identify new data patterns. In particular, data were collected and analyzed from the point of view that sensor data collected at vehicle idle could be used to detect abnormalities. To this end, a sensor was designed to determine the appropriate time length of the data entered into the forecast model, compare the results of idling data with the overall driving data utilization, and make optimal predictions through a combination of various sensor data. In addition, the predictive accuracy of artificial intelligence techniques was presented by comparing Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) as the predictive methodologies. According to the analysis, using idle data, using 1.5 times of the data for the idling periods, and using CNN over LSTM showed better prediction results.
