A study on Korea road conditions assessment for Speed Limit Information Function(SLIF) (제한속도정보제공장치(SLIF)에 대한 한국 환경 평가 분석)

  • Exceeding the speed limit during vehicle driving is a key factor in the severity of lots of road accidents, and SLIF(Speed Limit Information Function) application is in the initial phase in Korea. SLIF helps the drivers to observe a speed limit when they are driving by providing alert and informing the current limit speed information based on external data using camera and/or digital map, for that reason, environmental conditions could be causes of SLIF malfunctions. In this study, design adequacy analysis of SLIF in respect of false recognition as the Korea traffic environment has been performed. As tentative results, road conditions and structure of speed limit sign as well as system performance often caused misrecognition.

  • This study examined the Korean drivers' acceptance of SAS(Speed Assistance systems) and traffic sign conditions in Korea roads for SLIF(Speed Limit Information Function) that is a part of SAS. Exceeding the speed limit is a factor in the severity of many road accidents and SAS would help the driver to observe a speed limit by warning and/or effectively limiting the speed of the vehicle. SAS are in the initial phase in Korea, Korean drivers could not be familiar with automatical speed limiting during driving, SAS interface design would be considered to be more readily acceptable to the public. And advanced SAS have been introduced onto the market which are able to inform the driver of the current speed limit based on camera and/or digital maps based SLIF. These systems are based on external data using sensors, so environmental conditions are an important factor which could cause malfunction of SLIF functions.

Automated Cell Counting Method for HeLa Cells Image based on Cell Membrane Extraction and Back-tracking Algorithm (세포막 추출과 역추적 알고리즘 기반의 HeLa 세포 이미지 자동 셀 카운팅 기법)

  • Cell counting is extensively used to analyze cell growth in biomedical research, and as a result automated cell counting methods have been developed to provide a more convenient and means to analyze cell growth. However, there are still many challenges to improving the accuracy of the cell counting for cells that proliferate abnormally, divide rapidly, and cluster easily, such as cancer cells. In this paper, we present an automated cell counting method for HeLa cells, which are used as reference for cancer research. We recognize and classify the morphological conditions of the cells by using a cell segmentation algorithm based on cell membrane extraction, and we then apply a cell back-tracking algorithm to improve the cell counting accuracy in cell clusters that have indistinct cell boundary lines. The experimental results indicate that our proposed segmentation method can identify each of the cells more accurately when compared to existing methods and, consequently, can improve the cell counting accuracy.

Performance analysis in automatic modulation classification based on deep learning (딥러닝 기반 자동 변조 인식 성능 분석)

  • In this paper, we conduct performance analysis in automatic modulation classification of unknown communication signal to identify its modulation types based on deep neural network. The modulation classification performance was verified using time domain digital sample data of the modulated signal, frequency domain data to which FFT was applied, and time and frequency domain mixed data as neural network input data. For 11 types of analog and digitally modulated signals, the modulation classification performance was verified in various SNR environments ranging from -20 to 18 dB and reason for false classification was analyzed. In addition, by checking the learning speed according to the type of input data for neural network, proposed method is effective for constructing an practical automatic modulation recognition system that require a lot of time to learn.

Analysis of dynamic characteristics of proportional control valve for auto-steering tractor (자동 조향 트랙터용 비례제어밸브의 동특성 분석)

  • The aim of this study is to analyze the dynamic characteristics of proportional control valves according to various working conditions as a basic study for developing proportional control valves for auto-steering tractors. The dynamic characteristics of proportional valves were measured using hydraulic characteristics measurement system, and the power was analyzed using measured flow rate and pressure data. As the experimental conditions, the tractor engine speed and steering angle was selected as the main variables, and the experiment was performed on urethane road conditions. As a result, it was found that the flow rate, pressure, and power of the proportional control valve increased as the tractor engine speed and steering angle increased. In particular, as the steering angle increased at the same engine speed, the flow rate, pressure, and power tended to increase by up to 190%, 172%, and 273%, respectively. Similarly, as the engine speed increased at the same steering angle, the flow rate, pressure, and power tended to increase up to 161%, 122%, and 168%, respectively. Therefore, it can be seen that the steering angle has a higher influence on the dynamic characteristics of the proportional control valve than the engine speed.

  • This paper discusses about the development of a visual sensor that can be installed in an automatic mooring device to detect the berthing condition of a vessel. Despite controlling the ship's speed and confirming its location to prevent accidents while berthing a vessel, ship collision occurs at the pier every year, causing great economic and environmental damage. Therefore, it is important to develop a visual system that can quickly obtain the information on the speed and location of the vessel to ensure safety of the berthing vessel. In this study, a visual sensor was developed to observe a ship through an image while berthing, and to properly check the ship's status according to the surrounding environment. To obtain the adequacy of the visual sensor to be developed, the sensor characteristics were analyzed in terms of information provided from the existing sensors, that is, detection range, real-timeness, accuracy, and precision. Based on these analysis data, we developed a 3D visual module that can acquire information on objects in real time by conducting conceptual designs of LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) type 3D visual system, driving mechanism, and position and force controller for motion tilting system. Finally, performance evaluation of the control system and scan speed test were executed, and the effectiveness of the developed system was confirmed through experiments.

A Study on the Concept Design of Automatic Vessel Berthing Program (선박자동접안 프로그램 개념설계에 관한 연구)

  • In order for an autonomous ship to arrive near the pier and automatically berth without the help of a tugboat or pilot, it is necessary to recognize the pier and calculate the thruster output and output angle for berthing to the pier at a fixed berthing speed under given external force conditions. Therefore, in this study, the external force and moment acting on the ship while berthing were analyzed, and the thruster output calculation for automatic berthing was designed and the basic concept for the development of the automatic berthing program was designed. The wind pressure applied to the hull by the wind while the ship is berthing was calculated based on the wind pressure area and the wind direction angle and the turning moment to rotate the ship according to the transverse force of the ship was calculated. Considering the force acting on the ship and the turning moment during berthing, a theoretical formula was presented to calculate the thruster output and output angle for berthing parallel to the pier, and the turning due to other variables was controlled by the PID controller. In addition, the basic concept for program development was presented by analyzing the input elements necessary for the theoretical formula.

  • Automatic Speech Recognition(ASR) is a technology that analyzes human speech sound into speech signals and then automatically converts them into character strings that can be understandable by human. Speech recognition technology has evolved from the basic level of recognizing a single word to the advanced level of recognizing sentences consisting of multiple words. In real-time voice conversation, the high recognition rate improves the convenience of natural information delivery and expands the scope of voice-based applications. On the other hand, with the active application of speech recognition technology, concerns about related cyber attacks and threats are also increasing. According to the existing studies, researches on the technology development itself, such as the design of the Automatic Speaker Verification(ASV) technique and improvement of accuracy, are being actively conducted. However, there are not many analysis studies of attacks and threats in depth and variety. In this study, we propose a cyber attack model that bypasses voice authentication by simply manipulating voice frequency and voice speed for AI voice recognition service equipped with automated identification technology and analyze cyber threats by conducting extensive experiments on the automated identification system of commercial smartphones. Through this, we intend to inform the seriousness of the related cyber threats and raise interests in research on effective countermeasures.

  • 본 논문은 이족로봇 플랫폼과 같이 고정되지 않은 카메라에서 다중 동체의 수를 결정하는 방법에 대하여 논한다. 이족 로봇이 임의의 환경에서 자유롭게 활동하기 위해서는 다중 동체를 자동으로 인식하는 것은 반드시 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 고정되지 않은 카메라로 얻은 영상에서 서로 다른 움직임을 갖는 동체들에 대한 모션벡터 속도의 크기 분포를 분석하여 동체의 수를 결정하는 방법을 제시한다.
