Autopilot Design and Flight Test of an Unmanned Airship for Aviation Photograph (항공촬영용 비행선의 자동비행장치 개발 및 비행시험)

  • General unmaned airship, in use of aviation photography, needs both airship -controller and camera-controller who work together in harmony. In oder to reduce this manpower and get the good Geographical Information Systems(GIS) data, it is necessary to use a autopilot controller which guides a exact path lines. This paper presents the autopilot control law base on classical PID control. Moreover, this paper shows the result of flight test, the procedure of gain tuning and LOS guidance algorism that is reduce a tracking error.

  • This paper addresses the design of the auto race-track and figure-8 flight mode which can be applied to expand the loitering flight mode and increase the safety of UAV. To implement these flight modes, necessary waypoints and entry points can be calculated automatically from several information of the ground control system. The flight logic is proposed to pass the desired waypoints as well as entry points and transfer to the desired flight path by combining the light-of-sight and loitering guidance controller. The proposed algorithm and logic is verified using the 6-DOF UAV model and nonlinear simulation under the several flight conditions.

  • Recently, autopilot is essential to reduce pilot's workload and increase flight safety. Avionics system of the small aircraft also has progressively adopted centralized multi-processor and multi-process computing architectures similar to the integrated modular avionics of B-777. It is increased more and more that importance of the flight control system. In this paper, the performance of the autopilot for the small aircraft has been verified with Hardware-In-the-Loop Simulation(HILS). Also, the autopilot algorithm that is operated in the Flight Control Computer(FCC) for the Fly by Wire(FBW) was verified with PILS and compared with the HILS results for the several commercial autopilots.

  • 본 과제는 비행체에 자동제어 시스템인 자동항법비행기능을 탑재한 무인기를 제작한다. 자동항법비행이 가능한 무인기는 사람이 직접 조종하는 기존의 비행체들 보다 정밀하고 섬세한 제어가 가능하며 조종자의 시야가 닿지 않는 곳에서의 비행이 가능하다는 장점을 가진다. 또한 상공에서 영상을 촬영하며 5.8GHz대역의 영상 송 수신기를 통한 실시간 영상 확인이 가능하다. 본 과제는 GPS를 이용한 프로그래밍을 통해 미리 지정한 좌표를 따라 비행이 가능하며 실시간 영상 수신이 가능하기 때문에 사람이 직접 갈 수 없는 오염된 지역 등의 정찰이 가능하고, 비행체에 장착되는 장비에 따라 군용, 소방용 등의 다양한 범위에서의 활용이 가능할 것으로 예상된다.

  • 본 연구개발은 입력된 항로를 스스로 비행하며 사진 촬영, 국토 및 환경을 감시ㆍ관리할 수 있는 지능형 무인 비행 시스템 개발을 위한 레저 산업용 무선 조종 모형 비행기에 관련된 핵심기술을 확보하고, 상업화를 위한 전 단계의 시작품을 제작하는 것이다. 이와 관련하여 무선 조종 비행 관련 데이터를 확보 및 습득하고, 이의 활용으로 표준조종 기술을 확립하도록 했다. 또한, 자동 비행모드로 전환하기 위한 자동 비행 제어 알고리즘을 개발했으며, 확보된 비행기술을 데이터화하여 다양한 환경에서 시뮬레이션(simulation)을 수행한 정보를 프로그램화하여 자동 비행을 하도록 하고, 마이크로프로세서(microprocessor)를 이용하여 서보모터를 구동할 수 있는 제어기를 개발하였다.

  • This paper describes development of automatic flight control system for an unmanned target drone. Current target drone is operated by pilot control of on-board servo motor via remote control system. Automatic flight control system for the target drone greatly reduces work load of ground pilot and can increase application area of the drone. Most UAVs being operated nowdays use high-priced sensors as AHRS and IMU to measure the attitude, but those are costly. This paper introduces the development of low-cost automatic flight control system with low-cost sensors. The integrated automatic flight control system has been developed. The performance of automatic flight control system is verified by flight test.

  • This paper deals with the automatic flight control system for an unmanned target drone which is operated by an army as an anti-air gun shooting training. By automation of unmanned target drone that is manually operated by external pilot, pilot can reduce workload and an army can reduce the budget. Most UAVs which are developed until today use high-cost sensors as AHRS and IMU to measure the attitude, but those are contradictory for the reduction of budget. This paper says the development of low-cost automatic flight control system which makes possible of automatic flight with low-cost sensors. We have developed the integrated automatic flight control system by integrating electricity module, switching module, monitoring module and RC receiver as an one module. We also prove the performance of automatic flight control system by flight test.

  • This paper deals with preliminary design results of autopilot for station keeping mode of airship. Linear equations of motion for the airship are derived. Basic architecture of the control laws for cruising and station keeping modes are proposed. Performance analysis results show that autopilot design for station keeping mode of airship is feasible.

  • In this paper, we designed an autopilot of the unmanned piloted vehicle to guide to the specific position, and analyzed robustness of the designed autopilot. We divide an aircraft velocity into the three case which are low, cruising and high speed, and designed autopilot gains are gain scheduled. We generated the turbulence for the operational altitudes and proved robustness of the designed autopilot for the turbulence using simulation.
