  • The purpose of the present study was to examine the mediating effect of self-concealment on the relationship between self-critical perfectionism and disordered eating behavior. Toward this aim, 348 participants responded to the measures of self-critical perfectionism, self-concealment and disordered eating behavior. Correlation analysis revealed that self-critical perfectionism was positively correlated with self-concealment and disordered eating behavior. In addition, self-concealment was positively correlated with disordered eating behavior. Structural equations analysis found that the relationship between self-critical perfectionism and disordered eating behavior had a significant partial mediating effect on self-concealment, meaning that self-critical perfectionism increased disordered eating behavior through high levels of self-concealment. This finding suggests that individuals who place high standards on themselves, and feature fear of negative evaluation from others, are at greater risk for disordered eating behavior. Based on this finding, we discussed suggestions for future research and clinical implications.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between job-seeking stress and somatization symptoms and to explore the mediating effects of maladaptive self-focused and emotional dysregulation in college students. The SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 21.0 were performed to analyze the path relationship between variables. First, maladaptive self-focused mediated the relationship between job-seeking stress and somatization symptoms. Emotional dysregulation mediated the relationship between job-seeking stress and somatization symptoms. Second, maladaptive self-focused and emotional dysregulation partial dual mediated the relationship between job-seeking stress and somatization symptoms. It suggests that college students with job-seeking stress tend to be maladaptive self-focused, therefore they have difficulty in emotion regulation and eventually expose somatization symptoms.

  • This study examined the effects of self-critical perfectionism on organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) and the moderating effects of gender in the relationship to understand deeply the dilemmatic situation resulting from OCB at the individual level. In other words, based on the conservation of resources theory, this study examined how self-critical perfectionism influences the OCB and how gender moderates the relationship between self-critical perfectionism and OCB. More specifically, this study predicts that self-perfectionism will be negatively related to OCB. Furthermore, this negative relationship between self-critical perfectionism and OCB will be strengthened in men compared to women. To test these hypotheses, the supervisor-subordinate survey was conducted, and 150 dyad data were analyzed. The analytical results of HLM (Hierarchical Linear Modeling) showed that self-critical perfectionism negatively influenced the OCB, and this negative effect was strengthened in men compared to women. This paper suggests implications and limitations for the literature on OCB.

For this purpose, a questionnaire was conducted for students in college and a total of 408 copies were used for analysis. The instruments used in the measurement were socially prescribed perfectionism scale(HFMPS), social anxiety scale, mattering scale, and unconditional self-acceptance. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and correlation analysis using SPSS 21.0, and the structural equation model and mediating effects were verified using Mplus 7.0. The results of the study are as follows. First socially-prescribed perfectionism showed a positive correlation with social anxiety but negative correlation with mattering and unconditional self-acceptance. And there was a positive correlation between mattering and unconditional self-acceptance but negative correlation with social anxiety. Second, the mediating effect of mattering was confirmed in the relationship between socially-prescribed perfectionism and social anxiety. Third, the mediating effect of unconditional self-acceptance was confirmed in the relationship between socially-prescribed perfectionism and social anxiety. Fourth, the effect of double mediation of mattering and unconditional self-acceptance was confirmed in relation to socially-prescribed perfectionism and social anxiety in college students. Based on these findings, the implications of the study were presented and the limitations of the study and suggestions for further research were discussed.

  • This study aims to explore the relative influences of covert narcissism and evaluative concerns perfectionism on SNS addiction tendency, and the mediating effect of evaluative concerns perfectionism in the influence of covert narcissism on SNS addiction tendency of undergraduates. The results of this study can be summarized in the following. First, control failure and disturbance of adaptive, avoidance of negative emotion, and virtual life orientation and withdrawal were best accounted for by exploitation/self-centeredness. On the other hand, absorption and tolerance was best accounted for by hypersensitivity/vulnerability in undergraduates. Also, SNS addiction tendency was accounted for by only socially prescribed perfectionism of evaluative concerns perfectionism. Second, evaluative concerns perfectionism partially mediated the relations between covert narcissism and absorption and tolerance and between covert narcissism and virtual life orientation and withdrawal, while it didn't mediate the relations between covert narcissism and control failure and disturbance of adaptive and between covert narcissism and avoidance of negative emotion.

This survey was conducted from March, 2016 to May, 2016 and 315 responses from the survey were used for the analysis. Maladaptive Perfectionism and core self-evaluation were set as independent variables, and body dissatisfaction was set as an dependent variable. The data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation and Multiple Regression. As a result, core self-evaluation was the significant predictor to explain body dissatisfaction, but maladaptive perfectionism didn't have the effectiveness to the body dissatisfaction of female college student. In conclusion, to reduce body dissatisfaction, female university students' positive view regarding core self-evaluation should be increased.

  • This study aimed to examine the relationships among elementary mathematics teachers' self-efficacy beliefs, constructivist beliefs, and years of experience. This study used the primary data set of 299 Korean elementary school teachers. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, Pearson's correlation test, multivariate analysis of variance, and structural equation modeling were conducted. This study found that mathematics teachers' self-efficacy beliefs were positively related to their years of experience and constructivist beliefs, whereas there was no significant association between teachers' years of experience and constructivist beliefs. Additionally, teachers' self-efficacy beliefs significantly mediated the relationship between years of experience and constructivist beliefs.

  • Modern industrial society demands socially-prescribed perfectionism from office workers and causes self-discrepancy. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to propose a counseling strategy that integrates the divided self based on Fairbairn's psychological structure and reduces self-discrepancy by changing interpersonal relation patterns. 14 sessions were conducted once a week from March 2022 to July 2022. T-test was used as a research method to compare the level of self discrepancy by conducting the Self Questionnaire before and after. During the initial stage, the client was in conflict with his boss and showed anger, depression, somatic symptoms such as gastrointestinal disorder, strict judgement on himself and others, and high self-discrepancy. This research showed that the client's libidinal ego and anti-libidinal ego were de-repressed and integrated into his central ego, and his self-discrepancy level was decreased, which was confirmed through the pre-post test. This research, as a case study applying Fairbairn's psychological structure, has a meaning that it confirmed a change in the interpersonal relation patterns of a socially-prescribed perfectionistic client.
