The purpose of this study is to research psychological and social devices to foster self-regulated learning of Korean adolescents. This study investigated metacognitive, motivational, and behavioral factors of self-regulated learning through current research. In terms of metacognitive factors, we reviewed the importance of cognitive and metacognitive learning strategies of adolescents for better self-regulated learning. Especially we gave a great emphasis on the role of comprehension monitoring metacognitive strategy for the learning to read in this review. For motivational factors, recent research of self-regulated learning has tended to focus on self-efficacy and goal orientation. The current research examining behavioral factors of self-regulated learning has tended to focus on time management and academic procrastination. Research findings in the motivational aspect suggest that we need to develop the program to improve adolescents' self-efficacy and recognize new re-conceptualization of the goal theory. Research findings in the behavioral aspect recommend practical tips and strategies to improve time management skills and to overcome academic procrastination. Finally, future directions for research are discussed.
The research aims to verify the effects of preference for science and self-directed learning ability of the science puppet show program that the researcher has developed as a STEAM education model. The results for conducting the survey with the same questionnaire before and after the program targeting the students showed that the science puppet show had effects on increasing the science related assignment performance will of the behavioral will among the three sub-dimensions including emotional respond, value cognition and behavioral will, but there was no effect on overall aspects of science preference. It can be interpreted as reflecting the characteristics of the scientific talents who already have a high level of preference for science. In addition, the three sub-dimensions including the cognitive regulation, motivational regulation and behavioral regulation had effects on the self-directed learning ability. Especially it had great effects on the directed learning ability of cognitive regulation, learning motivation of motivational regulation, tool application of behavioral regulation, and cooperation capacity which were greater for female students than male students. It is judged that the three-staged science puppet show program including the 'content integrating stage' that the students integrate the curriculum contents, 'integrated mission stage' of solving the visualization, auralization and performance missions by themselves, and 'process integration stage' of making the stage piece all together.
This study is on the effects of lifelong education participative motivation, self-efficacy, and self-directed learning on subjective happiness of middle age adults. Middle age adults 40-64 years old are questionnaire survey target in Incheon and Gyeonggido and total 289 copies among 300 were analyzed through SPSS 21.0. The major findings of this study con be seen as follows: The variables more affected on educational satisfaction of middle age adults are goal-oriented motivation and activity-oriented motivation in lifelong education participative motivation, self-regulated efficacy in self-efficacy, and each personality, recognition and environment in self-directed learning. In conclusion, new paradigm is needed for middle age adults in lifelong learning society. This program should provide them with knowledge and information for adapting the future society, Furthermore, middle age adults can achieve their own self exploration, self-development and self-realization through the lifelong education program. Given a chance of lifelong education, middle age adults should be provided with the specific programs.

This study investigated the effects of mother's psychological control and of teacher-child interaction on young children's self-regulation. Data were collected by surveying 358 young children, their mothers and their 28 teachers. Data were analyzed with statistics using the SPSS Win 18.0 version. The study results are as follows. Mother's psychological control and teacher-child interaction had a significant effect on infant self-regulation. Between them, the child-teacher interaction had a greater effect than the mother's psychological control, affecting emotional regulation more than behavioral regulation. The study results confirmed the mother's psychological control and the interaction of the child-teacher as the variables affecting the children's self-regulation. These results highlight the necessity of continuing education on mother's discipline and teacher's interaction and development of educational program for early childhood pre-service teachers.
The purpose of this study was to verify the mediating effect of adaptive/maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies in the relation between perceived spouse's covert narcissism and marital satisfaction. For this purpose, 300 adults who were married in Seoul and Gyeonggi province were subjected to covert narcissism, marital satisfaction, and cognitive emotion regulation strategy scale and analyzed using the SPSS 23.0 program. The results of the study was followed. First, perceived spouse's covert narcissism showed a significant negative correlation with marital satisfaction and adaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategy, whereas it showed a significant positive correlation with maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategy. The marital satisfaction showed a significant positive correlation with adaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategy, but a significant negative correlation with maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategy. Second, adaptive/maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies partially mediated the effects of perceived spouse's covert narcissism of on marital satisfaction. Based on these results, the implications and limitations of this study and suggestions for future research were discussed.

The purpose of this study was to identify the moderating effect of self-control in the relationship between online game addiction and depression among adolescents exposed to the online game environment. A total of 378 respondents who are high school students in K Metropolitan City were selected for the current study. The process macro program developed by Andrew F. Hayes was used to analyze for the moderating effect and the SPSS 25.0 program was used for frequency, descriptive statistics, and correlation analysis. The results showed that online game addiction in adolescents had a significant positive effect on depression and self-control had a negative effect on depression, and self-control had a moderating effect on the relationship between online game addiction and depression in adolescents. The higher the online game addiction among adolescents, the higher the depression, and the influence depends on the level of self-control.
This paper was to examine the effects of university-based science gifted education program on scientifically gifted students' science problem finding ability and cognitive-affective factors. For this study, 69 scientifically gifted students with previous Silted education experiences at the university-based science gifted education centers and 91 scientifically gifted students without any previous gifted education experiences were compared. Both groups of students were currently enrolled at a specialized science high school. To compare both groups, scientific problem finding ability, science anxiety, science related attitude, self-efficacy, intrinsic motivation, test anxiety, cognitive strategies, and self-regulation were measured. The results indicate that there was no significant difference on scientific problem finding ability between these two groups. The comparison between the past and now in the aspects of variables observed in the study showed that both groups of students were decreased in the science anxiety and self-efficacy. But the test anxiety was significantly increased compared to the past in both groups. Implications of the study were discussed in depth.
This study aimed to find an effective intervention measure through establishing the correlation between self-regulation (control over life style) and height growth through neuro-feedback training. 40 elementary students in grades two to four with height growth programs (20 experimental group students, 20 control group students) were examined for the changes before and after undergoing neuro-feedback training. The experiment lasted for three months with one 30-minute training session two times a week. After analyzing the differences in self-regulation among the control group with no neuro-feedback training and the experimental group with neuro-feedback training, the differences in height growth were analyzed. First of all, there were positive changes in self-regulation of the experimental group compared with the control group. Secondly, the experimental group showed larger changes in height growth. In conclusion, neuro-feedback training had positive effects upon the self-regulation that adjusts the acquired factors of height growth, which led to positive effects.
This study was designed to construct and test a structural equation model for related factors that affect to self-regulated learning in nursing students. The nursing students was asked to complete a questionnaire, and 273 data units were analyzed with Structural Equation Modeling. The hypothetical model fit indices for the model revealed a fit at a recommended level, and 5 of the 6 paths were statistically significant explaining 68% of the variance. Therefore, education that improves self-determination, interpersonal competence and achievement goal orientation will promote self-regulated learning of nursing students. Competence programs to build the self-autonomy and relationships should be developed.
