The relationship between smartphone addiction and depression, self-esteem, and self-regulation using quantitative EEG in adolescents (청소년의 스마트폰 중독과 우울, 자아존중감 및 정량 뇌파를 활용한 자기조절력의 관계)

  • This study analyzed the correlation between adolescents' smartphone addiction as well as depression, self-esteem, and self-regulation based on QEEG (Quantitative Electroencephalogram) analysis. The study period was from March 19 to July 12, 2019, and the subjects were 76 students at P Middle School in Gyeonggi-do (normal group 47, risk group 29) who filled out a questionnaire and were subjected to quantitative EEG. The data analysis was performed via frequency analysis, independent t-test, correlation analysis, and path analysis of the IBM SPSS Statics 21.0 program. First, smartphone addiction had a positive correlation with depression. Second, smartphone addiction showed a negative correlation with self-esteem and α wave. Third, depression showed a negative correlation with self-esteem, which did not show a significant correlation with self-regulation. Fourth, depression was higher in the risk group than the normal group. For self-esteem, the normal group scored higher than the risk group. Self-regulation showed higher significant differences with the normal group than the risk group. Fifth, for α wave and SMR, the normal group scored higher than the risk group. Sixth, α waves had a negative effect on smartphone addiction. This study is meaningful in that it applied a brain science approach using quantitative analysis for objective evaluation of smartphone addiction.

Correlation Analysis among Peer Evaluation, Self-evaluation and Instructor Evaluation on Argumentation Writing in the 'Biology Logic and Essay' ('생물교과논리 및 논술' 에서의 논증글쓰기에 대한 동료평가-자기평가-교수자 평가 간 상관관계 분석)

  • This study analyzed correlation among peer evaluation, self-evaluation, and instructor evaluation of argumentation writing conducted in the 'Biology logic and essay' class. To this end, 14 pre-service biology teachers wrote argumentation four times, and peer evaluation, self-evaluation, and instructor evaluation were conducted on these results. The peer evaluation for argumentation writing averaged 2.70 points, the self-evaluation average was 2.68 points, and the instructor evaluation average was 2.71. Looking at the average of each sub-evaluation area, scientific knowledge was the highest in peer evaluation, and the composition area was the highest in self-evaluation. In addition, the area of scientific knowledge was the highest in the instructor evaluation. As a result of examining the standard deviation, the standard deviation of self-evaluation was the largest. As a result of analyzing the correlation between evaluation types, there was a high correlation between peer evaluation and instructor evaluation, and there was a moderate correlation between self-evaluation and instructor evaluation. On the other hand, there was no significant correlation between peer evaluation and self-evaluation. As a result of analyzing the correlation by evaluation area, there was no significant correlation between peer evaluation and self-evaluation in all four areas of scientific knowledge, scientific argumentation, composition, and expression. On the other hand, in the analysis between peer evaluation and instructor evaluation, there was a significant correlation in the areas of scientific knowledge, scientific argumentation, and composition. In addition, there was a significant correlation between self-evaluation and instructor evaluation only in the area of expression. The results of this study show that peer evaluation is highly likely to be applied in the 'Subject logic and essay' class. It also suggests that it is necessary to subdivide evaluation criteria according to the type of evaluation in order to use peer evaluation and self-evaluation.

Effect of Science Learning Motivation and Science Self-Efficacy on the Science Learning Flow of Preservice Elementary Teachers (초등예비교사의 과학 학습동기, 과학적 자기효능감이 과학 학습몰입에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aimed to investigate the effects of science learning motivation and science self-efficacy on the science learning flow of preservice elementary teachers. The study recruited 77 preservice elementary teachers during their sophomore year from the B university of education. Descriptive statistics, correlation coefficient, and multiple regression were used for data analysis. The results were as follows: science learning motivation and science self-efficacy exerted a significant positive correlation with and a statistically significant effect on science learning flow. Satisfaction was the main influential subelement of science learning motivation. For science self-efficacy, the main influential subelements were emotional stability and language encouragement. Moreover, it was deduced that self-efficacy exerted a greater effect on science learning flow than science learning motivation.

Meta-Analysis of Correlation Between Subjective and Objective Cognitive-Linguistic Tests : Focused on Normal Aging, MCI, and Dementia (메타분석을 통한 주·객관적 인지-언어 평가 간 상관성 연구 : 정상 노년층, MCI, 치매 환자를 중심으로)

  • Subjective cognitive-linguistic complaints in older adults contribute to the diagnostic and prognostic investigation of MCI or dementia. However, the utility of subjective test for predicting cognitive-linguistic decline is controversial. Few domestic studies have included the correlation between subjective and objective tests systematically. The current study analyzed 26 studies published since 2000, and the effect sizes of their correlation coefficients between two tests were computed. The results of qualitative analysis indicated that the number of subjects ranged from 26 to 657. Subjective tests included the self-report 75.4% and the informant-report 24.6%. In objective tests, memory comprised the largest proportion, followed by global cognition, and language, etc. As a result of meta-analysis, self-report test had the predictive value for dementia, and informant-report test contributed to discriminate among 3 groups. In the elderly group, self-report test was correlated with reasoning, and informant-report test with memory and language. In MCIs, self-report test predicted several abilities including language, and informant-report test signaled the future decline of domains like global cognition. Two types of subjective tests in dementia also represented memory, language, and global cognition accurately. This study provides evidence-based information to support relationships between subjective and objective tests for cognitive-linguistic ability in 3 groups.

Comparison of Student Evaluation Methods in Team Based Learning Classes for Dental Hygiene Students (치위생학과 팀기반 수업에서 학생평가방법의 비교)

  • The purpose of this study is to compare student evaluation methods in team based learning classes for dental hygiene students. The subjects of this study were the score of dental hygiene students who took the courses of 'oral health education practice'. The analysis methods were spearman correlation analysis, skewness, kurtosis and Mann-Whitney U test. As a result, there was a significant correlation between the self-evaluation and peer-evaluation. Self-evaluation showed lenience tendency rather than peer-evaluation and self-evaluation found the highest central tendency. The peer-evaluation result was more lenience and more central in the group where self-evaluation was performed.

  • This convergence research was conducted to understand the effect of university students' addiction to smartphones on self-efficacy, with lack of sleep and interpersonal relationships as the parameters. The subjects were students from three universities located in J province, and 263 questionnaires were used as the data for analysis. SPSS and AMOS were used for correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, and path analysis. As a result, addiction to smartphones showed positive (+) correlation with lack of sleep, and negative (-) correlation with interpersonal relationships and sell-efficacy. In addition, the addiction to smartphones has an influence on self-efficacy with lack of sleep and interpersonal relationships as the parameters. Therefore, in order to increase the self-efficacy of unversity students, plans and measures should be prepared to manage and prevent addiction to smartphones and lack of sleep, and to improve interpersonal relationships.

A Modified Diffusion Model Considering Autocorrelated Disturbances: Applications on CT Scanners and FPD TVs (자기상관 오차항을 고려한 수정된 확산모형: CT-스캐너와 FPD TV에의 응용)

  • Estimating the Bass diffusion model often creates a time-interval bias, which leads the OLS approach to overestimate sales at early stages and underestimate sales after the peak. Further, a specification error from omitted variables might raise serial correlations among residuals when marketing actions are not incorporated into the diffusion model. Autocorrelated disturbances may yield unbiased but inefficient estimation, and therefore invalid inference results. This phenomenon warrants a modified approach to estimating the Bass diffusion model. In this paper, the authors propose a modified Bass diffusion model handling autocorrelated disturbances. To validate the new approach, authors applied the method on two different data-sets: CT Scanners in the U.S, and FPD TV sales in Korea. The results showed improved model fit and the validity of the proposed model.

The Mediating Effect of Self-compassion in the Relationship between Abandonment Anxiety and Relationship Addiction in Early Adulthood (성인초기 유기불안과 관계중독의 관계에서 자기자비의 매개효과)

  • The study is to verify the mediating effect of self-compassion in the relationship between abandonment anxiety and relationship addiction. To this end, a questionnaire survey was conducted on 250 men and women in early adulthood, using the scales of abandonment anxiety, self-compassion, and relationship addiction, of which 237 were used for the final analysis. Descriptive statistics and correlation analysis were performed using the SPSS 21.0 program, and mediating effects were confirmed using the PROCESS macro. The results of the study are as follows. First, abandonment anxiety showed negative correlation with self-compassion, and positive correlation with relationship addiction. Self-compassion showed negative correlation with relationship addiction. Second, in the relationship between abandonment anxiety and relationship addiction, self-compassion showed a partial mediating effect. Through this study, the relationship between abandonment anxiety and relationship addiction and the effectiveness of self-compassion to manage it were confirmed. Based on the results of this study, the significance and limitations of this study and suggestions for subsequent studies were presented.

The Influences of Gender Sensitivity and Sexual Assertiveness on Dating Violence of Nursing Students (간호대학생의 성인지감수성과 성적자기주장이 데이트폭력에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is a descriptive research study to confirm the relationship between gender sensitivity, sexual assertiveness, and dating violence among nursing students and to identify factors that effect dating violence. The 366 nursing students who were the subject of the study were satisfied, and the collected data was analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, correlation, and multiple regression. The research results show a significant positive relationship between gender sensitivity and sexual assertiveness (r=,172, p<.001), and a significant negative relationship between gender sensitivity and dating violence (r=-.105, p<.005), and a significant negative relationship was also found between sexual assertiveness and dating violence (r=-.024, p<0.05). The influencing factors for dating violence were age (𝛽=.184) and grade (𝛽=.145), and the explanatory power for dating violence was found to be 7.1%. Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to develop and apply a program to prevent dating violence among nursing students.

Ferrimagnetic Resonance Studies of Poly-crystalline $Mn_x$ Ferrites (Mn-Zn 훼라이트의 자기공명 특성연구)

  • 조성이 Mn$_{x}$Zn$_{1-x}$ Fe$_{2}$O$_{4}$ 훼라이트(x=0.75, 0.52)를 pusher type 연속 전기로를 이용하여 질소 분위기하에서 1360 .deg. C 로 3시간 동안 소결하여 얻어냈다. 본 연구에서는 스피넬 구조인 Mn-Zn 훼라이트의 FMR(Ferrimagnetic Resonance) 스펙트럼 특징과 초기투자율과의 상관성을 조사하고자 EPR X-band 스펙 트로미터를 이용 9.50 GHz의 microwave frequency에서 FMR 실험을 수행하였다. FMR 공명흡수선은 주 자기공명 흡 수선외에 낮은 자기장에서 약한 subsidiary 공명흡수선을 나타내는데 온도변화에 따른 주 자기공명 흡수선과 sub- sidiary 공명흡수선(제2, 제3 공명흡수선)의 세기, 공명선폭, g값 등의 온도 의존성을 연구함으로써 제2 공명흡수 선이 나타나는 원인을 분석하였으며, 자기공명 흡수선의 g값, 자기공명선 세기, 그리고 공명선폭과 초기투자율의 상관성을 연구하였다. 실험 결과 주 자기공명 흡수선의 g값, 자기공명선 세기, 공명선폭은 초기투자율 값과 밀접 한 관련이 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.었다.
