The effects of flexible work arrangements on work-family conflict and facilitation, and job satisfaction for married working women: A longitudinal analysis (유연근무제도가 기혼여성의 일-가정 갈등 및 촉진, 직무만족에 미치는 영향: 패널분석 방법을 이용하여)

  • This study analyzes the effects of the three types of flexible work arrangements (part-time, flexitime, and reduced working hours for childcare) available in Korea on work-family conflict, facilitation, and job satisfaction for married working women ages 15-49. The study employs a panel analysis based on the first to the fourth data from the Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women & Families (KLoWF). The major results are as follows. First, the availability of part-time jobs and reduced working hours to facilitate childcare is significantly related to work-family conflict for married women. If a married woman is employed in a part-time position or if reduced working hours for childcare are available, the conflict within the family caused by the job is reduced. Second, none of the three types of flexible work arrangements have a statistically significant influence on work-family facilitation for married women. Third, the availability of reduced working hours for childcare has a positive effect on the job satisfaction of married women. In conclusion, flexible working hours for women who are raising children are the main factor in reducing the negative effect of a job on a woman's family life as they contribute to work and family compatibility.

The Effects of Employees' Gender Role Attitudes, Job Involvement, and Family Involvement on Work-Family Balance (기혼근로자의 성역할 태도와 일-가족 지향성이 일-가족 갈등/촉진 및 가족친화제도 이용에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examined the effects of employees' gender role attitudes, job involvement, and family involvement on their work-family conflicts, work-family facilitation, and utilization of family-friendly corporate policies. Data was collected from 377 full-time married workers from 262 large (more than 300 employees) and 100 small (fewer than 300 employees) private sector companies. The questionnaire's measurements were based on recommendations from the literature review. The questionnaire consisted of the gender role attitude scales, job and family involvement scales, work-family conflict and facilitation scales, and questions pertaining to the employee's utilization of family-friendly corporate policies. The SPSS 12.0 statistical package was used to analyze the collected data. The study found that employees showed more or less egalitarian gender role attitudes and that they were more involved in their family than their job. The employees' responses showed a low rate of utilizing family-friendly policies, but employees from large companies reported a higher utilization of family-friendly policies than those from small companies. There were also gender differences in employees' gender role attitudes, work and family involvement, and utilization of policies. Male workers held more traditional gender role attitudes, had higher levels of job involvement, and had higher rates of utilization of policies than female employees. Meanwhile, employees with children exhibited more traditional gender role attitudes and higher rates of utilization of policies than those without children. Finally, serial hierarchical regression analyses revealed that employees' more egalitarian gender role attitudes and higher job and family involvement predict higher work-family facilitation, while their gender role attitudes and job and family involvement have no significant influence on work-family conflicts. Also, employees from large companies with high job involvement will have significantly higher utilization rates of family-friendly corporate policies.

Married Working Women's Work-Family Conflict and Facilitation on Depression (맞벌이 여성의 일가족 경험이 우울에 미치는 영향 : 일가족갈등과 일가족촉진의 통합적 접근)

  • This study set out to investigate relationship between work-family conflict and depression and especially moderating effect of work-family facilitation. Data came from Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women and Family 2012. The final sample size was 2,716 married employed women in South Korea. Analysis methods were multiple regression analysis. The major findings of this study are as follows. First, married employed women showed more higher level of work-family facilitation than work-family conflict and work-family facilitation correlated with work-family conflict positively. Second, work-family conflict affected significantly depression. Third, work-family facilitation moderated significantly the relationship between work-family conflict and depression. The limitations and implications of the findings from this study were discussed with respect to further studies.

  • In order to create an organizational culture that prevents women's career breaks and promotes economic activities, this study aimed at developing educational content for workplace culture improvement for both male and female workers working at small and medium-sized enterprises in Jeollanam-do. The core content composition and content design specifically consider the characteristics of Jeollanam-do based on an advisory meeting of the field experts and researchers to ensure the on-site utilization of the content and the validity and consistency of the teaching content. The educational content is divided into three areas: understanding, effectiveness, and the implementation of a gender-sensitive work-life balance organizational culture. The aim of the content is for all employees to understand the meaning of work-life balance and to improve the organizational culture of their company from the perspective of individuals, families, companies, and society. In particular, the intention was to personally identify and implement measures to improve a gender-equal work-life balance, not only at work, but also with regard to domestic labor and leisure time. Furthermore, the content is presented from a gender-sensitive perspective that encompasses diversity, systems, and programs targeting women, men, single people, married people, young people, the elderly, and people with disabilities - all these groups are explained as examples. The content emphasizes that we should all actively participate in improving the organizational culture of our companies. In addition, the Women's New Work Center should seek ways to increase the motivation for the voluntary participation by companies and strengthen the expertise of instructors in work-life balance education.

  • 정부는 지난 10월 12일 "성장 고용 복지"의 선순환을 통해 우리 경제가 2020년까지 선진국으로의 도약 및 선진국 수준의 고용률 70% 목표 달성을 위한 국가고용전략을 발표하고, 이에 따른 5대 과제를 선정했다. 정부가 마련한 일자리 희망 5대 과제는 (1) "지역 기업"이 주도하는 일자리 창출 (2) 공정하고 역동적인 노동시장 구축 (3) 일 가정 양립 상용형 일자리 확대 (4) 생애 이모작 촉진 (5) 일을 통한 빈곤탈출 지원 등이다. 이번 국가고용전략에는 건설업 맞춤형 대책이 포함돼 건설업계도 적지 않은 변화를 가져올 전망이다. 고용노동부는"건설업에서 고질적 문제로 지적돼 온 과도한 노무비 삭감, 유보임금, 숙련기능인력 부족, 불법 외국인 근로자 사용 등에 대한 근본적인 개선방안을 마련할 방침"이며 특히 정부 발주 공사의 경우 근로자 노무비를 사전에 공사원가에 반영하는 방안을 협의 중에 있다.

일본의 '어린이 독서활동 추진에 관한 기본 계획'

  • 일본 정부는 지난 2002년 8월 2일 각료회의에서 ‘어린이 독서활동 추진에 관한 기본 계획’을 결정하였다. 이 기본 계획은 어린이가 자주적으로 독서활동을 할 수 있도록 그 환경을 정비한다는 관점에서, 2001년 12월에 의원입법되어 공포.시행된 ‘어린이 독서활동 추진에 관한 법률’의 규정에 따라, 정부가 수립하지 않으면 안 되게 된 것이다. 이 계획을 2002년부터 2006년까지 5년에 걸친 시책의 기본 방향과 구체적인 방안을 제시한 것으로, 그 개요는 다음과 같다. 1. 가정, 지역사회, 학교를 통하여 어린이가 독서와 친해질 수 있는 기회 제공 가정교육에 관한 학습기회를 통하여 부모에게 독서의 중요성을 이해시킨다. 도서관에서의 어린이 독서활동을 추진하여 민간단체 활동을 지원한다. 학교에서의 학습활동을 통하여 독서습관을 확립하고 독서활동을 추진한다. 2. 도서자료 정비 등 제반 조건의 정비 및 충실화 도서관과 공민관 도서실 등 지역사회의 독서환경을 정비한다. 도서관 자료를 정비하고 정보화를 추진하며 사서 연수를 충실화한다. 학교도서관의 도서정비 5개년 계획, 정보화 추진, 사서교사 발령을 촉진한다. 3. 학교, 도서관및 관계기관, 민간단체의 연계.협력체제 추진 4. 사회 분위기 조성을 위한 보급.계발 어린이 독서의 날(4월 23일)을 중심으로 전국적으로 홍보한다. 홈페이지 개설로 관련정보를 광범위하게 제공한다. 일본 문부과학성은 이 기본계획에 기초하여 관계부처 등과 긴밀히 협조하여 어린이 독서활동 추진에 관한 시책을 더욱 충실히 하기로 하였다. -편집자주

  • Epidermal growth facter(EGF)는 내열성이 강하고 분자량이 6045 dalton인 단쇄상의 polypeptide로써, Cohen에 의해 생쥐의 악하선에서 처음 발견된 이래, 여러학자들에 의해 많은 연구가 되어왔다. 인체의 EGF는 urogastrone이라고도 불리우며, 인체의 소변에서 처음 검출되었고 분자구조 및 생리작용이 생쥐의 EGF와 매우 유사한 것으로 판명되었다. EGF의 자세한 작용기전은 확실히 규명되어있지는 않지만 세포의 증식과 분화를 촉진시키며 위산의 분비를 억제시킨다고 알려져 있다. 또한 EGF receptor는 분자량이 170,000${\sim}$180,000dalton인 세포표면의 polypeptide로써 인체, 쥐, 닭, 소 등의 세포막조직에 특이하게 결합되어 있다. 최근 수년동안 몇몇 학자들에 의해 EGF가 배아와 태아 및 태반의 성장을 촉진시키고 chorionic gonadotrophin과 placental lactogen의 분비를 증진하는데 기여할 것이라고 가정되어 왔다. 그러나 아직까지 배아착상에 대한 EGF의 작용여부에 관해서는 발표된 문헌이 없어 저자는 radioreceptor assay를 이용하여 EGF receptor binding과 토끼의 배아착상과의 관계를 규명하고자 임신경과에 따른 착상부위와 비착상부위의 자궁 및 태아측 태반과 모체측 태반을 분리취득하고 receptor binding assay를 시행하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 전임신군과 비임신군의 자궁조직의 membrane fraction으로부터 specific한 EGF receptor binding이 관찰되었다. 2. 착상전 임신 3일에 자궁조직의 EGF receptor수는 4.72 +0.16($10\;mol/{\mu}g$)로 비임신시보다 의의있게 증가되어 있었고(p<0.01), 착상시기인 임신 7일에는 착상된 부위에서 20.33+6.58로 훨씬 더 높은 측정치를 나타내었다(p<0.05). 3. 착상이후 가장 먼저 취득된 임신 14일의 태아측 태반은 모체측 태반의 1.39+0.49에 비해 훨씬 높은 11.94+1.97의 EGF receptor 측정치를 보였다 (p<0.01). 4. 이상의 소견들로 보아 EGF가 토끼의 배아착상에 밀접한 관련이 있을 것으로 추측되며, 이러한 착상전후의 EGF의 작용은 태아측으로부터 일 것으로 예상된다.

  • This study for establishment of cultivation technique was carried out in home, Pleurotus ostreatus, Ganoderma lucidum. The mushroom kit allows you to grow some of the mushrooms used by the finest chefs in the world easily and quickly almost anywhere in your own home or office. Mushroom kits may be placed on a coffee table, counter, or desk. They will produce mushrooms virtually anywhere room temperature is maintained. Now we have the opportunity not only to enjoy watching these exotic mushrooms grow but also to enjoy eating the freshest organic mushrooms possible. To study for the possibility of indoor cultivation of P. ostreatus, and G. lucidum, we invested cultivation status with two kinds of sawdust, cotton waste and rice straw in washroom, kitchen, living room, and bedroom. It took 2~4 days to make primordia formation in a block of P. ostreatus, and G. lucidum was 11 days. Weight of P. ostreatus on cotton waste, rice straw, and willow sawdust were 2,060g, 90g, and 770g, respectively. and weight of G. lucidum on oak sawdust was 172g. Th best result was achieved in washroom, among used washroom, kitchen, living room, and bedroom.

The Demand for Home Nursing Care of Hospital Inpatients in Brain-Spine and Musculoskeletal Diseases (종합병원의 뇌.척수.근골격계 입원환자의 가정간호요구)

  • This study was carried out to investigate agreement, content and demand for home nursing care of hospital inpatients in brain, spain and musculoskeletal diseases .The data was collected by interviewing with 242 patients who were hospitalized in university hospital on Taegu, from September 6,60 October 9, 1993. Of 242 patients, 66.1% agreed to home nusing care system and rate of agreement was highest between 30 years to 49 years of age as 75.5%, in middle urban area residents as 75.9% and was lowest in medicaid as 40.0% in general chareacteristics. The rate of agreement according to type of diagnosis was highest inpatients with spinal diseases as 75.6% according to functional status was the highest in patients who had daily living activity freely as 69.4% according to prognosis in patients at terminal stage as 80.0% and the rate of agreement to home nursing care of patients who wanted early discharege was 73.9%. The first-ranking reasom of agreement to home nursing care was asking for continuous relationship with doctor as 37.3% and there was statistically significant difference in reasons of agreement to home nursing care according to functional status of patients. The first-ranking reason of eary discharge among patients who wanted early discharge(74.8%) was because of long time stay in hospital. Among 23 items of nursing activity that patient wanted, the first-ranking item was recovery promotion, prevention of complication, education and counseling for health as 76.4%, drug management was 2nd-ranking item as 62.1% and the third was regular checking of vital signs as 55.9%. The lowest item of demand for home unring care was hospice care(3.9%) and airway keep(9.1%).

경력단절여성의 개인 특성과 창의성이 창업의지에 미치는 영향

  • 본 연구는 경력단절여성의 창업의지를 고취시키기 위해 필요한 변수를 분석하고, 성공적인 창업으로의 연결을 위한 교육 프로그램의 재구성 및 향후 정책이나 사업을 기획함에 있어 이론적 기반을 제공함에 목적을 두고 작성 되었다. 여자의 삶을 살면서 겪게 되는 출산 및 양육은 경력단절을 만드는 주된 이유이며, 이는 개인의 문제 뿐 아니라 저 출산 이라는 또 다른 사회적 문제를 야기 시킨다. 이런 사회적 문제의 해결방안으로 현재 정부는 여성기업의 활동과 여성의 창업을 지원하기 위해 2009년 12월 여성기업지원에 관한 법률을 제정하고, 여성기업 활동 촉진 기본계획을 수립하는 등 여성 창업 촉진을 위해 많은 노력을 하고 있다. 이러한 노력들이 실제 경력단절여성들에게 영향을 미치고 있는지 선행연구를 통해 알아보고, 경력단절여성의 창업의지를 고취시키기 위해 필요한 변수를 분석하여 실증 분석을 통해 관련성을 연구하고자 한다. 경력단절여성의 특성을 파악하여 경력단절 전 보다는 창업에 필요한 소통이 단절되었을 것으로 판단하여 외부의 영향력이 아닌 내부의 개인특성을 중점으로 변수들을 추출하였다는 선행연구와의 차이점이 있고, 일반 예비창업자 혹은 교육학에서 변수로 작용했던 창의성을 경력단절여성을 대상으로 연구하였다는 차이점이 있고, 창업 이라는 교육 커리큘럼에 여성을 대표하는 "감성"을 더해 "여성창업"을 위한 효과적인 교육 및 훈련 프로그램이 만들어 져야 하고, 경력단절여성들이 창업활동을 활발히 할 수 있도록, 일 가정 양립을 위한 제도적인 지원제도가 더욱 많아져 경력단절 여성창업률을 높이려는 노력이 더욱 필요할 것으로 판단된다.
