  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of a computerized cognitive training(CCT) on cognitive, depression, life satisfaction and activity of daily living in older adults with mild dementia. The participants were 32 older adults diagnosed with mild dementia who reside in nursing hospital and were randomly divided into an 16 for an experimental group and 16 for a control group. A CCT was performed for a day/week for 8 weeks in an experimental group. The CoTras-G was used for CCT. The MMSE-K, SGDS-K, ELS and BI were administered to the experimental group and the control group in the same way in order to examine the effects of CCT. The difference of the effects between before and after a CCT conduction were identified by paired t-test. Moreover, the Mann-Whitney U-test was conducted to identify differences in variances between groups. Only participants in the experimental group reported significant improvements in cognitive function, depression, life satisfaction and activity of daily living when compared to those in the control group after CCT. There was a significant difference in cognitive function, depression, life satisfaction and activity of daily living between the experimental group and the control group after CCT. These findings suggest that the CCT can be used as effective cognitive training program to improve cognitive function, depression, life satisfaction and activity of daily living in older adults with mild dementia.

When the oral status was unsatisfactory, it was found to be uncomfortable in daily life. In case of oral pain, oral status and poor removal of calculus, the number and frequency in daily life were increased. In conclusion, the oral health of elderly women can improve their daily life ability and affect the quality of life. • The objectives of this research are (1) to identify characteristics and needs of the recipients of home care, and type of services (2) to examine the factors that predicts the degrees of recipients' satisfaction. This study uses the data based on the responses of 490 recipients selected randomly from 22 home care centers. The results show that recipients have higher frequencies in age of 60+, disabled status, difficulty with ADL, IADL items, no family, and lowest class. And the type of services offered by home care centers have highest frequencies in home maker services. Recipients' attitude toward home care services is "helpful," but they are not satisfied with the frequency of visit. The study found that disabled status, difficulty with ADL, IADL, health services, and home maker services are negatively related with degrees of recipients' satisfaction. Based on the findings, the study would conclude that home care policy should be recipients' need-based, developing systematic: need assessment tool. Expanded home health caring must be required for the disabled elderly.

  • This study was conducted to examine the effects of a smart home (electronic control unit, ECU) on the performance and satisfaction of activities of daily living of wheelchair users. A total of 15 wheelchair users (10 patients with spinal cord injury and 5 patients with stroke) were investigated. Smart homes were equipped with ECU technology, which consisted of automation of furniture and products. The products and facilities were integrated and controlled by a smart device or voice. Performance and satisfaction of activities of daily living were measured by the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM) before and after residence in a smart home. All participants showed a higher COPM (performance score ${\geq}3$, satisfaction score ${\geq}4$) during residence in a smart home compared to residence in the current home. In addition, the COPM scores differed significantly before and after residence in a smart home. These results provide evidence of the applicability of smart homes based on high technology. However, additional studies of more smart home participants should be conducted to improve the quality of the results.

  • This study analyzed the factors influencing the satisfaction of school students in Covid-19. The subjects of the study were surveyed in all 5th-6th grade of elementary school students, 1st-3rd grade of middle school, and 1st and 2nd grade of high school students in G metropolitan city. A total of 13,672 students participated in the survey, of which 13,613 were used for final data analysis. A hierarchical regression analysis of factors affecting students' life satisfaction showed that 22.2% of school life factors, 4.7% of home life factors, and 10.7% of daily stressors. The most influential factor in Covid-19 was home life satisfaction. Next was appearance stress for elementary school students and academic stress for middle and high school students. This can be seen as a result of Covid-19, which increased non-face-to-face classes and increased time for students to spend at home, which led to a greater impact on students' satisfaction in life. Nevertheless, middle and high school students can still see that academic stress has a significant impact on life satisfaction. Through this, it is necessary to support students to facilitate relationships, communication, studies, and leisure at home in the context of Corona 19. Especially, various educational policies must be accompanied so that the educational gap due to non-face-to-face classes does not deepen depending on the family environment.

  • Objective : This study aimed to acquire activities of daily living (ADL) skills through activity analysis and forward chaining in children with developmental disabilities. Methods : In this study, the performance of children with developmental disabilities was guided stepwise using a changing criterion design. The intervention was conducted in forward chaining after the therapist analyzed the activities of three tasks (shoes, shorts, and short-sleeved T-shirts) set as the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM). The performance rate at each stage of the three tasks was used as an independent variable, and COPM performance and satisfaction scores before and after the intervention were set as dependent variables. Results : The task performance rates of children wearing shoes, shorts, and short-sleeved T-shirts improved over time. Even at home, the scores for performance and satisfaction of all three tasks increased. Conclusion : Hopefully, activity analysis and behavioral chaining methods will be used not only for ADL but also for various tasks in children with developmental disabilities who have difficulty acquiring tasks.
