Relationship between Internship Satisfaction, Hotel Internship Stress and Social Supports (호텔인턴쉽 참가자의 스트레스 요인과 사회적(학교)지원이 인턴쉽 만족에 미치는 영향)

  • This study is designed to figure out internship stress factors which took place in their work place of Hotel. Then, the relationship between these internship stress factors and internship satisfaction were explored. Lastly, the internship satisfaction of student under high stress in each stress factor and that of students under low stress were compared each other. five internship stress factors(internship-related stress, human relation stress, regulation stress regarding human resources, organization stress, and Foreign language barrier stress) were delineated from factor analysis. The levels of each internship stress sere significantly different based on several demographic variables. As like as other studies, there were negative relationship between stress and internship satisfaction. finally, the students with low stress in each stress factor except language barrier stress were more satisfied with their internship than those under high stress.

A Case Study of Job-Shadowing Internship Program for Information Specialists (전문가양성을 위한 직무관찰식 인턴쉽 시행연구 - 문헌정보학 전공사례 -)

  • This study focuses on two analysis: direct cognition of effectiveness of internship practicum, difference of career attitude maturity. The purpose of this experimental case study is to find out the practical problems of Internship education as a field-study of LIS by applying Job-Shadowing Internship methods. The results reveal that 71% of interns responded the positive effects of Job-Shadowing, but the effects to the career attitude maturity was not statistically significant. The implications of the case study are as follows; (1) systematic pre-instruction and orientation from the department are the critical factor of internship, (2) practicum guidelines(PEP), which is provided by the person in charge of tasks in internship institutions is the another important factor, and finally, (3) tools for measuring the effectiveness of internship is required for LIS practicum major course development.

  • Inspired by the practice-oriented curriculum in LIS, many colleges have developed Internship program. Researches of internee's attitude or opinion of internship program, which affect students' learning and their cognitive impact, have not been studied. This study measured internee's cognition of internship by surveying thirty-four librarians who had experience of internship instructor in libraries and information centers. The Researcher found several practical problems as well as some implications which can be applied in a meaningful way among LIS professionals.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop New-IT internship and to search for the way to reduce quality mismatch and unemployment ratio and to ultimately enhance its effectiveness of university-industry collaboration(UIC) in the field of information technology in Korea. To achieve the goal of this study, we tried to come up with more job creation than working on educational collaboration between university and industry. The survey based on the reaction of companies and interns participating in IT internship program promoted by MKE(Ministry of Knowledge and Economy) shows that intern experience helped them to get jobs and longer intern period gave them to find job more easily. Intern companies preferred to local college students majoring in special technology area related to regional innovation industry cluster. It also found that intern companies wanted to hire interns who had some project experiences and theoretical knowledges. IT Internship program affected students good images about small and medium enterprises(SME) after finishing internship.

The survey(based on CIPP model) based on the reaction of companies and interns participating in IT internship program promoted by MKE(Ministry of Knowledge and Economy) shows that intern experience helped them to get jobs and longer intern period gave them to find job more easily. This program is designed to focus on intern matching between students' major and their intern jobs, and requires new employees' level of job quality. They(56%) preferred to hire local college students majoring in special technology area related to regional innovation industry cluster. It also found that intern companies(87%) wanted to participate in this program again and hired intern students(61%) as showing the possible connection of internship and employment. IT Internship program affected students(68.3%) good images about small and medium enterprises(SME) after finishing internship.

  • This paper develops a course named $\ulcorner$Academic Itnernship Program$\lrcorner$ that is designed to be offered jointly by the Statistics department and the Mathematics department. Our aim of developing the course is as follows. This program enhance students' academic and career goals. This program provides students with opportunities to apply classroom theory to real world situations. Students learn a practical theory that is actually used in the real industry. This program enhance students' skills and abilities. This provide financial assistance. Students get a competitive edge in employment after graduation.

Evaluation of the Perception and Satisfaction of Working and Internship Abroad -By Undergraduates Studying in Culinary and Foodservice Departments- (해외 취업 및 인턴쉽에 대한 인식과 만족도에 관한 연구 -조리 및 외식관련 전공자를 대상으로-)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the perception and satisfaction of undergraduates majoring in culinary arts and food service with working and internship abroad. The responses of the participants to 10 questions regarding perception and 13 questions regarding the importance and satisfaction with working and internship abroad were measured on a 5 point Likert scale. The primary results were as follows : 1) The subjects were composed of 50.9% male and 49.1% female students, of which 42.1% were employed and 57.9% experienced an internship abroad. 2) Most students went abroad to gain experience with respect to various foreign cultures in response to recommendations by the western cuisine department. 3) The items "I wish to conduct my affairs continuously"(M=4.21) and "I have good relationships with my colleagues at work"(M=4.11) received the highest points from male and female respondents, respectively. 4) Male students considered "cooperation among divisions"(M=4.11), "language skills"(M=4.38), and "kitchen environment"(M=4.34) to be very important. However, female students believed that "language skills"(M=4.36),"social relationships"(M=4.21), and "wage income"(M=4.18) were most important. Furthermore, male students were most satisfied with "company size" (M=4.28), "kitchen environment"(M=4.21), and "business hours"(M=4.10), while female students were most satisfied with "kitchen environment","incentive"(M=4.14) and "social relationships"(M=4.11).

  • From the learner competency-based education, the necessity of the learner-oriented education and the mutual cooperation among the leamers has been increased. An internship-based education system will achieve a progressive development in understanding and the competency for the job to be performed by the mutual interactions between the leamers and between the learners and the lecturer. This paper presents the project-based learning system in order to facilitate and achieve the goals of the industrial business processing system implementations in the ongoing popular Internet environments. In the proposed internship-based system, the lecturer presents a problem to be solved and leads the education as a supervisor.
