An Improvement of BER Performance for Coded 16-QAM over Mobile Communication Channel by Asymmetric Signal Constellation (비대칭 신호점에 의한 부호화된 16-QAM의 이동 무선 채널에서의 BER 성능 개선에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this paper is to propose an improvement method of BER for coded 16QAM over Rayleigh fading channel. To overcome the BER degradation due to the fading under mobile communication, we apply trellis coded modulation technique which is efficient to get a coding gain without the expansion of bandwidth. Especially, to minimize the burst error which are the main factor of the BER degradation for mobile communication systems, we apply interleaving/deinterleaving method to the studying system. Also we apply asymmetric signal mapping methods to this TCM scheme. From the computer simulation, BER performance of asymmetric case has achieved about 1 dB improvement of about $10^{-4}$, compared to the traditional symmetric case.

  • 본 논문에서는 직류배전 시스템의 안정적이고 효율적인 운전을 위한 핵심요소인 양방향 충방전이 가능한 컨버터의 새로운 적응제어 기법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법은 소프트 스위칭을 위해 영전류를 검출하는 대신 계산을 통하여 동작 주파수를 결정한다. 따라서 다양한 입출력 조건에서 쉽게 소프트 스위칭이 가능하다. 효율 향상을 위해 다상 인터리빙 기법을 적용하였으며 이는 전류 리플 또한 줄일 수 있어 캐패시턴스를 줄이는 효과를 얻을 수 있다. 이와 같은 방법은 영전류 검출 회로가 필요하지 않기 때문에 양방향 구동 시 회로의 구성이 간편하며 전류 제어의 불안정성이나 노이즈 문제를 완화시킬 수 있다. 제안한 방법은 동작원리 분석을 바탕으로 200W 다상 벅-부스트 컨버터의 하드웨어 실험을 통해 효용성과 타당성을 검증하였다. 넓은 범위에서 고효율을 보였으며 최대 98.5%의 효율을 나타내었다.

  • performance of the cellular CDMA overlay system is analyzed which shares the same band with existing microwave narrowband system to enhance the spectral efficiency. To suppress the interfreence from narrowband system, we used a linear predicition filter that adopts the adaptive least mean square algorithm. Alalyzing the performance in the Personal Communication Services channel, characterized as a multipath Rician fadng channels, we considered the power control to solve the near-far problem, and-off and multipath diversity. We also considered interleaving and channel coding to improve BER performance of the CDMA system.

  • 본 논문에서는 배터리 충 방전용 양방향 DC-DC 컨버터의 필터 인덕턴스와 제어특성의 영향을 분석한다. 필터 인덕턴스의 값을 변경하여 기존의 제어기법과 개선된 제어기법에 따른 특성 변화를 3 kW급 양방향 2상 인터리빙 DC-DC 컨버터 회로에 적용하여 분석하였으며 시뮬레이션을 통해서 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • 태양광 전력조절기에서 임의의 위상을 갖는 모듈통합형 스트링 구조는 출력 커패시터의 리플 크기가 모듈 수만큼 생기게 되어 일정 리플을 위한 커패시턴스를 키워야 하고 이는 크기 및 가격, 효율 면의 입장에서 불리한 요소가 될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 모듈간의 위상 동기화를 통한 인터리빙 기법을 적용하여 DC-Link 전압의 리플이 저감됨을 분석 및 시뮬레이션을 통해 확인하고 이를 하드웨어 Prototype 제작하여 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • We present a method to recover consecutive cell losses using forward error correction(FEC) in ATM networks. Our method recovers up to 18 consecutive cell losses. Also, we present the performance estimation of the FEC technique using the interleaving in ATM networks. Performance estimation shows an outstanding reduction in cell loss rate.

  • The next generation wireless communication systems are required high BER performance better than present performance. Double binary Turbo code have error floor at high SNR, so it cannot be used in next generation wireless communication system. Therefore, many methods are proposed for overcome error floor at DVB-RCS NG(next generation). In this paper, we analysis structure of third-dimension Turbo code(3D-turbo code). 3D-Turbo code overcomes error flow by additive post-encoder in conventional DVB-RCS Turbo code. Performance of 3D-Turbo code is changed by post-encoder form, interleaving method, value of ${\lambda}$. So we are simulated by those parameter and proposed optimal form. By a result, performance of 3D-Turbo is better than conventional DVB-RCS Turbo code and it overcome error floor of conventional DVB-RCS Turbo code.

A Design of Parallel Turbo Decoder based on Double Flow Method Using Even-Odd Cross Mapping (짝·홀 교차 사상을 이용한 Double Flow 기법 기반 병렬 터보 복호기 설계)

  • The turbo code, an error correction code, needs a long decoding time since the same decoding process must be repeated several times in order to obtain a good BER performance. Thus, parallel processing may be used to reduce the decoding time, in which case there may be a memory contention that requires additional buffers. The QPP interleaving has been proposed to avoid such case, but there is still a possibility of memory contention when a decoder is constructed using the so-called double flow technique. In this paper, we propose an even-odd cross mapping technique to avoid memory conflicts even in decoding using the double-flow technique. This method uses the address generation characteristic of the QPP interleaving and can be used to implement the interleaving circuit between the decoding blocks and the LLR memory blocks. When the decoder implemented by applying the double flow and the proposed methods is compared with the decoder by the conventional MDF techniques, the decoding time is reduced by up to 32% with the total area increase by 8%.

  • This research is to design an effective buffer structure and its management for flash memory based high performance SSDs (Solid State Disks). Specifically conventional SSDs tend to show asymmetrical performance in read and /write operations, in addition to a limited number of erase operations. To minimize the number of erase operations and write latency, the degree of interleaving levels over multiple flash memory chips should be maximized. Thus, to increase the interleaving effect, an effective buffer structure is proposed for the SSD with a hybrid address mapping scheme and super-block management. The proposed buffer operation is designed to provide performance improvement and enhanced flash memory life cycle. Also its management is based on a new selection scheme to determine random and sequential accesses, depending on execution characteristics, and a method to enhance the size of sequential access unit by aggressive merging. Experiments show that a newly developed mapping table under the MBA is more efficient than the basic simple management in terms of maintenance and performance. The overall performance is increased by around 35% in comparison with the basic simple management.

  • 본 논문에서는 전기자동차용 충전기를 위한 단일단 소프트스위칭 AC-DC 컨버터를 제안한다. 제안하는 컨버터는 두 대의 인터리빙 컨버터에 저손실 스위칭기법을 적용하여 변압기의 저주파 성분을 제거하여 코어부피를 최적화할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 스위치의 도통손실 및 스위칭 손실을 감소시킬 수 있다. 또한 배터리에 저주파 리플이 허용되는 경우에는 필름 커패시터만을 사용하여 정현파 충전을 함으로써 시스템의 높은 내구성 및 소형화를 달성 할 수 있다. 3.3kW급 시작품을 통해 본 논문의 타당성을 검증하였다.
