A Study on IoT Monitering Technology of Power Converter for E-Mobility (E-Mobility용 전력변환기의 IoT 모니터링 기술에 대한 연구)

  • In this paper, we propose a monitoring method of smartphone to integrate IoT technology to monitor the state of the vehicle for fault diagnosis of E-Mobility power converter. In China, EV regulations are being implemented to promote technological development and market changes in electric vehicles. To meet this trend, E-Mobility should study suitable monitoring technology. The OBD-II method used in existing automobiles is a wired / wireless communication method. In order to apply it to E-Mobility, additional interface and communication link are required. In this paper, we propose a technology to monitor the status information of power converter for E-Mobility by combining existing technology with IoT. This technology simplifies the existing network protocol and hardware interface, and confirms that the E-Mobility power converter and smartphone can be interworked for easy user monitoring. And we have done research to make high value product design from the aspect of function.

An IPv6 based Fast Handover Deployment Scheme for WiBro Networks (광대역 무선 인터넷 망에서 IPv6 기반의 고속 핸드오버 도입을 위한 방안)

  • With the recent growth in demand for high-data rate multimedia services in the wireless environments, the Mobile Broadband Wireless Access (MBWA) technologies, such as WiBro (Wireless Broadband internet) system, are gradually coming into the spotlight. Unlike the conventional mobile communication networks based on cellular system, the WiBro system basically consists of IP based backbone networks that will be ultimately deployed by Ipv6 (IP version six) based backbone networks according to the All-IP trend for the network evolution. In such wireless mobile environments, it is needed to support the mobility management protocol on network layer as well as physical layer and Medium Access Control (MAC) layer in WiBro system. Accordingly, in this paper, we propose a fast handover scheme for improving the handover performance in IPv6 based WiBro system and show that the proposed scheme achieves loss-free and low handover latency during inter-subnet movement of the mobile stations through the simulation.

Dynamic Random Channel Allocation Algorithm by Limiting the Number of Minimum RCH in HIPERLAN/2 (HIPERLAN/2에서 최소 RCH 수를 제한한 동적 랜덤채널 할당 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose an dynamic random channel allocation scheme increasing probability of channel acquisition and reducing delay by limiting the number of minimum RCHs(Random CHannels) as an optimal factor $\beta$. The MAC protocol of HIPERLAN/2 is based on TDMA/TDD and MT(Mobile Terminal) can obtain chance of traffic transmission through channel competition in RCH period. And AP(Access Point) can dynamically schedule the number of RCHs based on the number of the collision in each RCH of the previous frame. Therefore, the proposed scheme increases a probability of channel acquisition and reduces delay by means of guaranteeing the number of minimum RCHs. With a practical Internet traffic, it is concluded that by the proposed scheme the delay reduction of the order of 19% and slightly better throughput are obtained compared to the conventional algorithm.

  • The popularity of web services within the IT industry continues to grow as the next generation web technologies. Web services are self-contained, self-describing, modular applications that can be published, located, and invoked across the Web. Web services will be core technology for e-business in the Web. IPv6 is sometimes also called the Next Generation Internet Protocol and is a new version of IP which is designed to be an evolutionary step from IPv4. In this paper, we define problems for adapting web services to IPv6 Environment. This paper survey and explain consideration issues that include standards, components, coexistence of IPv6 and IPv4, etc.

  • In the existing design of web server architecture, data encryption technique is used to keep the reliability, stability, and safety of web service. But the use of data encryption technique wastes the work of cpu while decreasing throughput of web server and increasing average response time so that it shows negative effect on the capacity of web application server. Also, the latest web applications require security and safety for the safe internet communication. Therefore, this paper suggests the improved web server which uses thread pool and Non-blocking I/O adding new web service modules to the existing web server for the safe web service, provides reliability and safety to show the safe web service capacity. And we compare and evaluate the safety and capacity through experiment on the existing traditional Tomcat based web server and the proposed system to evaluate the safety and capacity of the proposed web server system.

  • In recent years, there are many data and multimedia services that are supported by WiFi-enabled mobile devices. As a result, the demand for the ability to connect to the Internet anywhere is rapidly increasing and network infrastructure is becoming increasingly important. The design of cost-efficient network mobility (NEMO) protocol is intended to reduce the demand for limited wired/wireless network bandwidth at the signaling of mobility support and packet delivery operations. In this paper, we propose a cost-effective inter-LMA domain mobility management scheme which provides fast handover with multicasting support in NEMO environments. And our Fast PR-NEMO scheme is compared with N-PMIPv6, rNEMO, and PR-NEMO. In conclusion, our proposed scheme shows the best performance in terms of location updating cost, and packet tunneling cost.

Forecasting Technique of Line Utilization based on SNMP MIB-II Using Time Series Analysis (시계열 분석을 이용한 SNMP MIB-II 기반의 회선 이용률 예측 기법)

  • In this paper, algorithm is proposed to forecast line utilization using SNMP MIB-II. We calculate line utilization using SNMP MIB-II on TCP/IP based Internet and suggest a method for forecasting a line utilization on the basis of past line utilization. We use a MA model taking difference transform among ARIMA methods. A system for orecasting is proposed. To show availability of this algorithm, some results are shown and analyzed about routers on real environments. We get a future line utilization using this algorithm and compare it ot real data. Correct results are obtained in case of being few data deviating from mean value. This algorithm for forecasting line utilization can give effect to line c-apacity plan for a manager by forecasting the future status of TCP/IP network. This will also help a network management of decision making of performance upgrade.

  • Transcoding proxy strategy has been widely used as a means to reduce the delay in retrieving Web pages over wireless mobile data service networks. However, this strategy has the serious drawbacks of being a potential point of failure or a bottleneck of the service. We developed a distributed proxy server system in which multiple proxy servers are installed at geographically dispersed locations and share the workloads among them by serving mobile hosts only within assigned regions. A new handoff message protocol to enable handoffs between proxies as the mobile hosts move between regions is proposed. According to the proxy server handoff protocol, a client agent at the mobile horst requests a proxy server to start handoff processing by which two proxy servers synchronize distilled data belonging to a HTTP session that must be maintained across the handoff. Also, we introduce the architecture of the proxy server and the client agent that handles the proxy server handoff. Finally, we evaluate the proposed system through performance test.

  • Vehicle cloud technology is a fusion technology of vehicle communication technology and cloud computing used in wired and wireless Internet, and has attracted attention as a new IT paradigm. It is expected that it would contribute to resolve the road traffic problem with effective communication by providing computer, sensor, communication, device, and resource. but security is necessary to apply vehicle cloud environment and it have to resolve security threats and various attacks occurred in wired and wireless vehicle environment. Therefore, in this paper, we designed security framework to provide secure communication between vehicle and vehicle, and vehicle and the Road side in the vehicle cloud environment. Safety and security of the vehicle environment was satisfied with the security requirements of the vehicle and cloud-based environment, and increased efficiency than the conventional vehicle network communication protocols.

A TCP-Friendly Congestion Control Scheme using Hybrid Approach for Enhancing Fairness of Real-Time Video (실시간 비디오 스트림의 공정성 개선를 위한 TCP 친화적 하이브리드 혼잡제어기법)

  • Recently, due to the high development of the internet, needs for multimedia streams such as digital audio and video is increasing much more. In case of transmitting multimedia streams using the User Datagram Protocol (UDP), it may cause starvation of TCP traffic on the same transmission path, thus resulting in congestion collapse and enormous delay because UDP does not perform TCP-like congestion control. Because of this problem, diverse researches are being conducted on new transmission schemes and protocols intended to efficiently reduce the transmission delay of real-time multimedia streams and perform congestion control. The TCP-friendly congestion control schemes can be classified into the window-based congestion control, which uses the general congestion window management function, and the rate-based congestion control, which dynamically adjusts transmission rate by using TCP modeling equations and the like. In this paper, we suggest the square-root congestion avoidance algorithm with the hybrid TCP-friendly congestion control scheme which the window-based and rate-based congestion controls are dealt with in a combined way. We apply the proposed algorithm to the existing TEAR. We simulate the performance of the proposed TEAR by using NS, and the result shows that it gives better improvement in the stability needed for providing congestion control than the existing TEAR.
