Effects of Cognitive Focus and Affective Focus on Attitude and Buying Intention in DMB Cellular Phone Purchasing (인지초점과 감정초점이 DMB 휴대폰에 대한 태도와 구매의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The present study investigated the effects of focus on consumers' attitudes and buying intentions. For these purposes, researcher compare the attitudes and buying intentions by focus groups after presenting cognitive and affective product informations about a cellular-phone. The results of present experiment were as follow: First, cognitive focus led to highest cognitive attitude and affective focus also led to highest affective attitude. Second, It was highest buying intention in an affective focus and lowest in a non-focus. Third, a cognitive focus resulted in more cognitive words being recalled, by comparison with an affective focus, whereas an affective focus resulted in more affective words being recalled, by comparison with a cognitive focus. But they were not significant. These results show that cognitive and affective focuses lead to different attitudes that differ in their basis. An attitude formed in an affective focus results in a stronger buying intention than an attitude formed in an cognitive focus. The present findings also suggest that the different focus conditions result in different attitudes and buying intentions being formed, and to be diluting but to more enduring effects.

Suggestions for the Development of Internet-based Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy with a Trauma Focus (트라우마 초점의 인터넷 기반 인지행동치료 개발을 위한 제언)

  • Research on the development and effectiveness of internet-based cognitive-behavioral therapy with a trauma focus (iCBT-T) has been actively conducted in Western societies, but these studies have just begun in Korea. The purpose of this study was to suggest practical considerations to developing and managing the iCBT-T program. After reviewing previous studies on iCBT-T, this author suggested a model of convergence and collaboration between mental health knowledge and information and communication technologies (ICT) to develop the iCBT-T program. This article outlines practical considerations, including focus and target groups of iCBT-T, intervention types of iCBT-T (open access vs. guided), number of sessions, ethical issues, professional support, and degree of user involvement. Methods to complement the limitations of internet as a medium are also proposed in the iCBT-T program. The convergence model of CBT-T and ICT is expected to promote the development of programs that can contribute to improving the mental health of users who experience traumatic events.

Scope Relations Between Quantifier and Focus (양화사와 초점의 영향권 관계)

  • This study investigated scope relations between quantifier and focus which are represented in quantified sentences. In the sentence which has both strong quantifier and weak quantifier, one of them has a wide scope and a presuppositional reading, and the other which has a narrow one is interpreted non-presuppositionally. In Korean, when a weak quantifier is separated from VP in surface representation, whether it is a subject or an object, it has only a presuppositional reading. Therefore, there is no scope ambiguity in that sentence. However, when weak quantifier which is an object of transitive verb or a subject of transitive verb is sensitive to focus, it is available to non-presuppositional reading, so that the sentence seems to be ambiguous. Once even weak quantifier out of VP in the Surface structure is focused, it becomes to be in the scope of focus (focal phrase) which is formed in Logical form by a focus projection. And this scope of focus corresponds to a nuclear scope. That is to say, focus operates on the weak quantifier to be interpreted non-presuppositionally in a nuclear scope.

Size Perception Analysis on Smartphone-based Immersive Virtual Environment (스마트폰 기반 몰입형 가상 환경에서의 크기 인지 분석)

  • Participants in the virtual environment will have an immersive and memorable perceived experience through interacting with virtual objects. Recently, commercial virtual reality technologies have released simple and cost-effective smartphone-based head-mounted displays (HMD) and high-quality wide field-of-view (FOV) HMDs. However, due to the vergence-accommodation conflict structure of HMD and the learned cognition mechanism in real, side effects such as dizziness and nausea remain challenging to overcome. This study focuses on consistent size perception among various cognitive difference factors, which are essential for interaction with virtual objects. We verified whether the visual angle, which affects the size perception of an object in real, is also the main factor in the virtual environment. Our experiments derived the relation between the visual angle and the environmental components, shadow, and grid, which help perceive a virtual object. As a result of the regression analysis, we presented that in the small FOV HMD environment, the visual angle affects size perception, and the relation between the shadow and the grid is statistically significant.

  • 이용자 중심 연구의 이론적 및 방법론적 기초들이 발달함으로써, 그것들은 이세 점점 더 시스템 중심의 접근에 도전할 수 있게 될 것이다. 우리는 여기에서 정보 시스템 설계에 채용할 수 있는 이용자 중심 접근의 개념과 시스템 설계를 위한 일곱 가지의 구성 요소에 대하여 검토해 보았다. 시스템 설계는 이용자 중심의 접근을 추구하기 위한 가장 분명한 경우이다. 그러한 초점이 없이, 어떤 종류의 이용자를 위하여 시스템을 설계하는 것은 어려운 일이다. 어떤 이용자를 위하여 시스템을 디자인하는가 하는 문제에 대한 해답은 이용자에게 초점을 맞추기보다는 이용자가 성취하려고 노력하는 것이 무엇인지에 대하여 초점을 맞추는 것이다.

The Effects of Multimodal Cognitive Intervention Focused on Instrumental Activities of Daily Living(IADL) for the elderly with High-risk of Dementia : a Pilot Study (도구적 일상생활에 초점을 둔 복합인지중재 프로그램이 치매고위험군 노인에게 미치는 영향 : 예비연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the multimodal cognitive intervention focusing on instrumental daily life on the cognitive function, depression and quality of life of the elderly with high-risk of dementia. This study was conducted on 24 elderly people with high-risk of dementia who participated in cognitive rehabilitation program from March to June, 2018 in Chungbuk A region. The intervention was applied to cognitive training and creative activities related to instrumental daily life. MMSE-DS, Subjective Memory Complaints Questionnaire, Short Geriatric Depression Scale-Korean version and Geriatric quality of life - Dementia were performed before and after the intervention. We confirmed that the subjects showed significant improvement in Subjective Memory Complaints and Quality of Life, but showed no significant changes in cognitive function and depression after the intervention program. Through this study, it was confirmed that this program which can affect the real life of the elderly can be usefully applied in the community. In the future, it will be necessary to develop a program that utilizes more diverse instrumental activities of daily living.

Development of Program for Enhancing Learners' Mathematics Learning Motivation and Analysis of Its' Effects (수학 학습 동기 증진 프로그램 개발 및 적용 효과 분석)

  • Mathematics learning motivation is an important variable which is not only the primary goal of learning mathematics but also mediates the effects of the mathematics learning. Nevertheless, the present learning environment is full of impeding factors which reduce learners' motivation to learn mathematics and mathematical self-regulatory efficacy. The purpose of this study is to offer various suggestions for program to enhance and forster mathematics learning motivation based on empirical findings and theories on motivation, self-regulatory learning, regulatory focus, reducing academic stress and math anxiety. The concrete and practical ideas are suggested in terms of mathematical self-regulatory efficacy, learners' characteristics, learning task. The analysis of the effects revealed a positive effect on mathematical self-regulatory learning.

  • 인지적으로 안내된 교수(CGI)는 학생들의 수학적 사고(특히, 비형식적 지식)의 발달; 그러한 발달에 영향을 미치는 교수; 교수 실제에 영향을 미치는 교사의 지식과 신념들; 교사의 지식, 신념들, 실제들이 학생들의 수학적 사고에 대한 이해에 의해 영향을 받는다는 점에 초점을 둔 통합된 연구 프로그램이다. 본 논문에서는 아동의 비형식적인 지식을 중시하는 최근의 연구들을 고찰하고, CGI를 위한 수업을 어떻게 조직하며, 그러한 교수법이 수업을 어떻게 진행할 것인지에 대한 구체적이고 명확한 지침을 제공하지 않으므로 CGI를 적용하는 교실들의 유사점을 살펴본다. 그리고, 마지막으로 최근의 연구들을 고찰함으로써 CGI의 효과를 알아본다.

The influence of Cognitive Coping on Sick Role Behavioral Compliance and Depression, Satisfaction with Life in Hemodialysis Patients (혈액투석환자의 인지적 대처전략에 따른 환자역할행위 이행 및 우울, 삶의 만족에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of the study was to examine the relationships between cognitive coping, sick role behavioral compliance, depression, and life satisfaction of hemodialysis patients based on the stress-coping model. The research is cross-sectional survey, 150 participants were recruited from 4 local clinics in Chungcheongbuk-do. As a results, the cognitive coping scores were significantly related to sick role behavioral compliance, depression, and life satisfaction. The coping strategies explained 20.5%, 10.5%, and 24.6% of the variances in sick role behavioral compliance, depression, and life satisfaction, respectively. The most powerful coping strategy was positive refocusing in sick role behavioral compliance, depression, and life satisfaction. The results of the study indicate that cognitive coping plays an essential role for psychological adaptation of hemodialysis patients. Therefore, the development and application of intervention program to improve adaption of hemodialysis patients are required.

A Study on University Students' Intention to Use Video Contents as an Information Source of Serious Leisure Activities (대학생의 진지한 여가 활동 정보원으로서 동영상 콘텐츠 이용 의도에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims at exploring what kinds of factors affect university students to choose video contents as information sources of serious leisure activities. Among other, It focuses on the effect of information quality and cognitive authority. This study analyzed 209 sets of data collected by conducting an online survey of university students from across the country. The implications and results of this study are as follows: First, among the sub-components of information quality, timeliness, relevance, and accuracy had a positive effect significantly on the intention of video contents use as an serious leisure information source, and among those of cognitive authority, the characteristics of platforms was the most influential one. Second, the multiple regression analysis was used to figure out that, some sub-components of cognitive authority turned out to have a positive effect significantly on the evaluation of information quality. This study has a significant meaning in that it investigated the intention of video content use with the two factors (information quality and cognitive authority), especially at this time when more and more people are enjoying video contents as an serious leisure information source.
