A Study on University Students' Intention to Use Video Contents as an Information Source of Serious Leisure Activities (대학생의 진지한 여가 활동 정보원으로서 동영상 콘텐츠 이용 의도에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims at exploring what kinds of factors affect university students to choose video contents as information sources of serious leisure activities. Among other, It focuses on the effect of information quality and cognitive authority. This study analyzed 209 sets of data collected by conducting an online survey of university students from across the country. The implications and results of this study are as follows: First, among the sub-components of information quality, timeliness, relevance, and accuracy had a positive effect significantly on the intention of video contents use as an serious leisure information source, and among those of cognitive authority, the characteristics of platforms was the most influential one. Second, the multiple regression analysis was used to figure out that, some sub-components of cognitive authority turned out to have a positive effect significantly on the evaluation of information quality. This study has a significant meaning in that it investigated the intention of video content use with the two factors (information quality and cognitive authority), especially at this time when more and more people are enjoying video contents as an serious leisure information source.

The Effects of Self-Efficacy and User's Cognitive Factors on Reuse Intention of SNS (SNS에 대한 자기효능감과 사용자 인지요인이 SNS 재사용 의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the causal relationships among self-efficacy, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived playfulness, and reuse intention of SNS. The results of data analysis by structured equation model(SEM) indicate that self-efficacy significantly influences individual's perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and perceived playfulness. Both perceived playfulness and perceived ease of use affects perceived usefulness on SNS. Individual's self-efficacy, perceived playfulness and perceived usefulness affect reuse intention of SNS. Based on the results, the theoretical and practical implications of this study are discussed.

The Effect of Situational Perceptions and Anger on a Consumer's Communication Activeness (웹사이트에서 상황적 지각과 감정의 역할이 소비자의 적극적 커뮤니케이션 활동에 미치는 영향)

  • In this study, we consider the integration of cognitive components and emotion to account for communication behaviors and activism on a consumer advocacy website. The challenge of integrating situational theory and anger activism model was empirically explored utilizing an online survey with the members of the virtual community, which was designed to raise issues and to protest against the product defects of a product. Our findings indicated that along with the cognitive perception in the situational theory, anger as a negative emotion was the most significant predictor strongly associated with communication behaviors and activism on the organization. More interestingly, the model that integrates anger with cognitive components significantly improves its explanatory power compared with one including only cognitive components as explanatory variables.

The Effects of Servicescape, Brand Reputation and Experiences on Brand Attitude and Loyalty in Korean Restaurants (한식레스토랑의 서비스스케이프, 브랜드명성 및 체험유형이 브랜드태도와 충성도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of servicescape factors(space, convenience, aesthetics, comfortableness, cleanliness), brand reputation and experiences factors(feel, think, act, relate) on emotional and cognitive reactions of visitors to Korean restaurants. It also investigated the relationship between emotional and cognitive reactions and brand loyalty. A total of 353 questionnaires were analyzed using the factor analysis, a reliability test, and structural equation modeling analysis. The results revealed that space, aesthetics and comfortableness were positively related to emotional reaction, and convenience and cleanliness were related to cognitive reaction. This study also found that brand reputation was positively related to emotional and cognitive reactions. Moreover, it was found that think was positively related to emotional reaction, and feel, think, act and relate were positively related to cognitive reaction. Finally, cognitive reaction was positively related to loyalty. Therefore, Korean restaurant marketers should introduce or strengthen servicescape, brand reputation and experiences, which increases brand attitude or loyalty.

Effect of Lifestyle Risk Factors on Daily Life and Cognitive Function of the Older Adults in the Community (지역사회 노인의 라이프스타일 위험요인이 일상생활 활동과 인지기능에 미치는 영향)

  • Objective : To identify the effect of lifestyle risk factors on the daily activities and cognition of the older adults in the community using the National Health Insurance Corporation 2015 geriatric cohort database. Methods : Lifestyle risk factors were defined as body mass index (BMI), smoking, drinking, vigorous exercise, moderate exercise, and walking, and basic and instrumental activities of daily living (ADL) and cognitive function variables were included in the analysis. ADL and cognitive function according to sex and age were analyzed using a t-test and one-way ANOVA. The correlation between lifestyle risk factors, ADL, and cognitive function was analyzed using Pearson's correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis was performed to analyze their influence. Results : The factors affecting basic ADL (BADL) were sex and walking exercises, with an explanatory power of 1.7%. Instrumental ADL (IADL) included age, drinking, and walking exercises, with an explanatory power of 2.6%. Cognitive function included sex, age, BMI, vigorous exercise, and walking, with an explanatory power of 5.3%. Conclusion : Lifestyle risk factors partially affected BADLs/IADLs and cognitive function in community-dwelling older adults. This suggests the need to systematically manage lifestyle risk factors to improve and maintain the healthy lives of older adults facing biological aging.

College Students' Gambling Behavior: Mediating Effect of Self-Control and Multiple Group Analysis (대학생의 도박행동: 자기통제력의 매개효과 및 다집단 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to construct and test a structural equation model for college student's gambling behavior. A structured questionnaire was completed by 246 college students to analyze the relationships between perspective factors(irrational gambling belief), psychological factors(depression, anxiety), social factors(parental monitoring, parental support, friend support), self-control and gambling behavior. The moderating effects of gender, friends and family's gambling behaviors were examined. The data were analyzed using SPSS 21,0 and AMOS 20.0 programs. Self-control and psychological factors directly affected the college student's gambling behavior, while perspective factors and social factors affected it indirectly. The model fit indices of the modified model were suitable for the recommended levels. The overall study findings suggest the need to develop a gambling prevention program for college students that reinforces self-control, parental monitoring and support, and friend support while reducing irrational gambling belief, depression, and anxiety. An approach that considers gender and a development of a group counseling program for family or friends are also required.

Effects of University-Based Science Gifted Education Program on the Science Problem-Finding Ability and Cognitive-Affective Factors of Science Gifted Students (대학부설 과학영재교육 프로그램 참여 경험이 과학영재의 과학문제발견력과 정의적.인지적 특성에 미치는 중.장기적 효과)

  • This paper was to examine the effects of university-based science gifted education program on scientifically gifted students' science problem finding ability and cognitive-affective factors. For this study, 69 scientifically gifted students with previous Silted education experiences at the university-based science gifted education centers and 91 scientifically gifted students without any previous gifted education experiences were compared. Both groups of students were currently enrolled at a specialized science high school. To compare both groups, scientific problem finding ability, science anxiety, science related attitude, self-efficacy, intrinsic motivation, test anxiety, cognitive strategies, and self-regulation were measured. The results indicate that there was no significant difference on scientific problem finding ability between these two groups. The comparison between the past and now in the aspects of variables observed in the study showed that both groups of students were decreased in the science anxiety and self-efficacy. But the test anxiety was significantly increased compared to the past in both groups. Implications of the study were discussed in depth.

Understanding the Character of University Students: Gender Differences and Pathways of Character Factors (대학생 인성에 대한 이해: 성차와 인성요인의 경로)

  • In order to understand the character of university students, this study confirmed the gender tendency of whether there is a difference in the character of university students according to gender, and if there is a difference, what characteristics there are. It was confirmed through which pathways the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral factors, which are the character factors of university students, affect them. The research results are as follows. First, according to gender, the character of university students was found to be different in all areas of cognition, emotion, and behavior. It was confirmed that female students were higher than male students in all areas. Second, as for the pathways of university student character factors, it was confirmed that the higher the level of the cognitive domain, the higher the level of the affective domain, and the behavioral domain was improved. The results derived from this study can be objective basic data for developing a character education course or program for university students.

  • In the process leading to the continuous use of mobile payment system users, emotional and cognitive reactions are carried out. In this study, a questionnaire was conducted to determine the effect of external factors(social, system, service factors) of the mobile payment system on the continuous use of emotional responses(pleasure, emotional trust) and cognitive responses(cognitive trust). The structural model was tested using SPSS and PLS. As a result of the analysis, it was found that external factors affect emotional and cognitive responses, and cognitive responses affect continuous use.

Investigating the Impact of Affective Factors on Self-disclosure

  • One of the important research streams in the privacy literature for the past decade has been to discover factors affecting the decision-making process related to self-disclosure, called the cost-benefit analysis. However, although human behavior is greatly influenced by affective as well as cognitive factors, most of the factors found in previous studies are those with cognitive properties. Based on the awareness of this imbalanced situation, the study examines the role of affective factors on self-dislosure decision-making, especially SNS enjoyment and SNS fatigue. As a result of data analysis, the study finds that the influence of these affective factors is significant, and the influence of SNS enjoyment is greater than that of SNS fatigue. As for the relationship between the affective factors and the decision-making factors, the study finds that the positive affect(enjoyment) relates to only the positive evaluation factor(benefit) and the negative affect(fatigue) relates only the negative evaluation factor(cost), which demonstrate the congruent effect mechanism. Based on the result, the study discusses meaningful implications and suggestions for future studies.
