Development of a Food Freshness Indicator for Monitoring Spoilage of Chicken Breast Using a Porous Substrate (다공성 기재를 이용한 닭가슴살 신선도 인디케이터 제조 및 특성)

  • To visually identify the spoilage of chicken breasts, a three layered freshness indicator consisting of PET/bromocresol green (BCG)-ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA)-acetic acid (AA) composite layer/porous substrates was successfully prepared and their performance were simulated at 20% of $CO_2$ and 4 different trimethylamine (TMA) concentrations to evaluate color change at minimal spoilage level. The visibility and range of color changes of the as-prepared indicators responding to TMA concentration as a simulant were strongly dependent on the concentrations of BCG and AA. As the BCG content increased, the visibility of color change in the freshness indicators was apparently improved and the range of color change could be controlled by contents of AA. Among the as-prepared freshness indicators, 'G0.12_A0.5' which consisting 0.12g of BCG and 0.5g of AA was selected as an optimum composition due to the highest visibility at TMA 20 mg% corresponding to the minimal spoilage level. The color of the indicator changed from yellow to green for spoilage indication of chicken breast, which could be easily seen with the naked eyes and well consistent with the simulation results. It is expected that our developed freshness indicator can be useful in monitoring various food freshness and quality.

  • Time-temperature indicators (TTI) from three different companies obtained and were attached to food packages materials to evaluate degree of their color change according to storage time and temperature. Five temperature (-10 -5, 0, 5 and 10) was selected to represent standard freezing, refrigerating and room temperature, and evaluated performance by color change based on magnitude of color change and hunter system (L, a, b). Response end point was measured and recorded to find characteristic of each indicator. Comparison and discussion were conducted for accuracy and precision of each time-temperature. More research should be conducted at variable temperature and with various food to determine applicability of TTI on various storage condition.

The Recognition Method for Focus Level using ECG(electrocardiogram) (심전도를 이용한 집중도 인식 방법)

  • Focus level has been important mental state in user study. Cardiac response has been related to focus and less clarified. The study was to determine cardiac parameters for recognizing focus level. The sixty participants were asked to play shooting game designed to control two focus levels. Electrocardiogram was measured during task. The parameters of time domain and frequency domain were determined from ECG. As a result of independent t-test, RRI, SDNN, rMSSD and pNN50 of time domain indicator were statistically significant in recognizing focus level. LF, HF, lnLF and lnHF of frequency domain were observed to be significant indicator. The rule base for recognition has been developed by the combination of RRI, rMSSD and lnHF. The rule base has been verified from another sixty data samples. The recognition accuracy were 95%. This study proposed significant cardiac indicators for recognizing focus level. The results provides objective measurement of focus in user interaction design in the fields of contents industry and service design.

  • 본 연구는 릴레이의 코일 접점 신호의 검출을 송신기에서 코일의 데이터를 검출하고 4-20mA데이터를 1/5,000까지의 분해능으로 환산하되 블루투스를 이용한 무선통신으로 전송할 수 있도록 하여 송신기의 각 코일에서 검출된 데이터 값을 인디케이터에 전송하고 다시 릴레이 코일 신호로 만들어 표시하고 제어하도록 한 것이다. 데이터의 전송은 1Port 에서 10 Port까지 릴레이 코일 및 4-20mA 물리량을 이용하여 검출대상의 접점 리액턴스를 각각 측정하여 블루투스를 이용한 무선통신 데이터 값을 송신하는 코일의 접점 송신수단과 상기 릴레이 접점 송신수단으로부터 전송된 데이터 값을 블루투스를 이용하여 무선통신으로 수신한 후, 상기 릴레이 접점에서 전송된 각각의 데이터 값과 전체 물리량으로 연산 처리된 데이터 값을 디스플레이 하고, 데이터의 디스플레이된 값을 통해 리액턴스 출력, 경보음출력, RS232, 4-20mA 출력이 발생되게 하는 인디케이터로 구성하는 블루투스를 이용한 10 Port 코일 리프트 제어 콘트롤러이다.

  • The color change of the success of the steam sterilization indicator used in steam sterilization is currently being read by relying on the human eye. The result of color change on the success of sterilization can only be accurately read and judged by trained personnel. Developed an automatic reading system for steam sterilization indicators for the current human-dependent system, and developed an automatic reading device system for reading methods that were previously relied on with the human eye to develop a system that is more accurate and easier for anyone to read.

  • In this paper, we developed a digital Taekwondo trainer system based on the electronic protector was authorized by the World Taekwondo Federation for the improvement of user's training effects and athletic performances. Our system consists of E-Kick Bag with sensors for sensing hits, taekwondo trainer program and receiver for interconnection of E-kick Bag to program. Taekwondo trainer system also has an advantage to improve training effects and athletic performances such as hit-accuracy and reaction velocity by appointing a hitting target for users with 6 LED indicators. The taekwondo trainer program is a user interface to provide training courses such as progress training of response time and stamina, preparation training for real sparring by training scenario. It has also characteristics which are to strengthen and supplement user's pros and cons by analyzing hitting intensity and accuracy from training. In this paper, we implemented a test targeting eight taekwondo players on the playing list include a member of the Korea national team and conducted a survey in order to evaluate the utility of our system.

  • Nuclear power plants may use commercial grade items if they can pass special tests or inspections, which is called Commercial Grade Item Dedication (CGID). Digital items, however, should follow EPRI TR-106439 to be applied to nuclear power plants. This paper explains the scheme and requirements of the EPRI TR-106439 and introduces some guidelines. Firstly, in order to clarify requirements of the EPRI TR-106439, code interpretation is performed. And through case study of digital indicator, limitations of EPRI TR-106439 are mentioned, and improvement direction is proposed.

  • 최근의 배전반 설비의 고성능, 안정성, 신뢰성은 전기에너지의 사회적 욕구로 요구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 전력품질에 관한 정보를 수집하고 통합 모니터링과 설비의 보호, 그리고 다양한 장치들을 제어할 수 있는 전력 모니터링 시스템의 개발에 대하여 고려하고자 한다. 전력품질 모니터링을 통하여 수집된 정보는 시스템의 효과적인 운용과 사용상의 신뢰성을 개선시킨다. 본 시스템은 크게 하드웨어부와 소프트웨어부로 구성된다. 하드웨어부는 원칩 마이크로 프로세서(Intel 80C196KC)를 사용한 측정과 제어, 통신 그리고 입/출력을 담당하는 다기능 인디케이터와 컨트롤러로 구성된다. 다양한 기능의 모니터링, 데이터베이스와 제어를 PC상에서 구현하기 위한 소프트웨어부는 사용자 그래픽 인터페이스(GUI) 기반의 비주얼 프로그래밍을 사용하여 개발되었다.
