  • In elementary school software education, a programming process is experienced through a simple problem solving process. And even this experience emphasizes that the problem-solving process is a CS Unplugged activity. However, CS Unplugged has a disadvantage in that it only learns the principles of computing, and the learner cannot experience real problem solving. In this study, a learning program using artificial intelligence robots was developed with the goal of cultivating the ability to solve problems encountered in the real life of elementary school students. Students could solve complex problems in real life from the point of view of artificial intelligence through the developed program, and increase their interest and understanding of artificial intelligence education through robot control.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the implications for the systematic operation of the AI curriculum by analyzing the current status of the AI major curriculum in universities. To this end, This study analyzed the relevant curriculum of domestic universities(a total of 51 schools) and overseas QS Top 10 universities based on the industry demand-based standard of AI major curriculum developed through prior research. The main research results are as follows. First, in the case of domestic universities, Python-centered programming subjects were lacking. Second, there were few subjects for advanced learning such as AI application and convergence. Third, the subjects required to perform the AI developer job were insufficient. Fourth, in the case of colleges, the ratio of AI mathematics-related subjects was low. Based on these results, this study presented implications for the systematic operation of the AI major education.

  • Recently, researches and projects of companies based on artificial intelligence have been actively carried out. Various services and systems are being grafted with artificial intelligence technology. They become more intelligent. Accordingly, interest in deep learning, one of the techniques of artificial intelligence, and people who want to learn it have increased. In order to learn deep learning, deep learning theory with a lot of knowledge such as computer programming and mathematics is required. That is a high barrier to entry to beginners. Therefore, in this study, we designed and implemented a web-based deep learning platform called DeepBlock, which enables beginners to implement basic models of deep learning such as DNN and CNN without considering programming and mathematics. The proposed DeepBlock can be used for the education of students or beginners interested in deep learning.

  • This study developed and applied an artificial intelligence education program as an educational method for increasing computational thinking of elementary school students and verified its effectiveness. The educational program was designed based on the results of a demand analysis conducted using Google survey of 100 elementary school teachers in advance according to the ADDIE(Analysis-Design-Development-Implementation-Evaluation) model. Among Machine Learning for Kids, we use scratch for block-based programming and develop and apply textbooks to improve computational thinking in the programming process of learning the principles of artificial intelligence and solving problems directly by utilizing numerical data. The degree of change in computational thinking was analyzed through pre- and post-test results using beaver challenge, and the analysis showed that this study had a positive impact on improving computational thinking of elementary school students.

  • The rapid advancement of computer technology and artificial intelligence has significantly impacted software education in Korea. Consequently, the 2022 revised curriculum demands personalized education. However, implementing personalized education in schools is challenging. This study aims to facilitate personalized education by utilizing incorrect codes and error information submitted by beginners to construct prompts. And the difference in the frequency of correct feedback generated by the generative AI model and the prompts was examined. The results indicated that providing appropriate error information in the prompts yields better performance than relying solely on the excellence of the generative AI model itself. Through this research, we hope to establish a foundation for the realization of personalized education in programming education in Korea.

  • For given the importance of elementary school students developing the ability to solve problems using artificial intelligence (AI), problem-solving abilities should be developed using AI along with education to develop problem-solving abilities. Such students need a form that allows them to understand the concepts and principles of AI and to be easily educated in a fun way to understand basic understanding of how AI works. To this end, this study planned an 8-hour AI convergence program and operated based on self-driving cars, demonstrating that it was effective in improving elementary school students' problem-solving abilities, creativity, and AI understanding. As a result of operating the camp, students' understanding of AI was 3.56 (standard deviation 0.85), 4.00 (standard deviation 0.71), and t-value was -5.412 (p<0.001), indicating statistically improved understanding of AI, and high satisfaction and interest of students. In the future, it will be necessary to develop an educational program that allows elementary school students to devise their own ideas and create products to which AI models can be applied.

  • This paper proposes a reinforcement genetic programming based on the reinforcement learning method for the performance improvement of genetic programming. Genetic programming which has tree structure program has much flexibility of problem expression because it has no limitation in the size of chromosome compared to the other evolutionary algorithms. But worse results on the point of convergence associated with mutation and crossover operations are often due to this characteristic. Therefore the sizes of population and maximum generation are typically larger than those of the other evolutionary algorithms. This paper proposes a new method that executes crossover and mutation operations based on reinforcement and inhibition mechanism of reinforcement learning. The validity of the proposed method is evaluated by appling it to the artificial ant problem.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the design direction of artificial intelligence convergence liberal arts subjects based on flip learning and maker education through analysis of learner needs in a non-face-to-face classroom environment caused by COVID-19. To this end, we analyzed the priorities of subject content elements by using the Borich needs assessment and The Locus for Focus model along with students' perceptions of flip learning for students who took and did not take maker education-based liberal arts courses. Based on this, it was used as basic data for designing the curriculum. The study results are as follows. First, the content elements of the artificial intelligence liberal arts curriculum based on maker education consisted of a total of 9 areas and were designed as a class using flip learning. Second, the areas with the highest demand for education are 'Artificial Intelligence Theory', 'Artificial Intelligence Programming Practice', 'Physical Computing Theory', 'Physical Computing Practice', followed by 'Convergence Project', '3D Printing Theory', '3D Printing practice' was decided. Third, most of the questionnaires regarding the application of flip learning in maker education-based artificial intelligence liberal arts subjects showed positive responses regardless of whether they took the course, and the satisfaction of the students was very high. Based on this, an artificial intelligence-based convergence liberal arts curriculum using flip learning and maker education was designed. This is meaningful in that it provides an opportunity to cultivate artificial intelligence literacy for college students by preparing the foundation for artificial intelligence convergence education in liberal arts education by reflecting the needs of students.
