Development and Application of Mobile-Based Math Learning Application (모바일 기반 수학 학습 어플리케이션 개발 및 활용 방안)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a mobile-based math learning application and explore its application. In order to develop a learning application, the present study included literature review on math education involving mobile learning, investigation of literature related to mathematics education conducted in a digital environment, and method of use and implementation environment of existing math learning applications by type. Based on these preliminary investigation and analysis, an android version application, 'Mathematics Classroom for Middle School 3rd Graders' was developed. This application can be used for learning units such as Quadratic Functions and Graphs, Representative Value, and Variance and Standard Deviation. For the unit on Quadratic Functions and Graphs, the application was constructed so that students can draw various graphs by using the graphic mode and discuss their work with other students in the chatting room. For the unit on Representative Value, the application was constructed with the mathematical concept of representative value explained through animation along with activities of grouping data acquired after playing archery games by points or arranging them according to size so that students can study when and how to use median value, mode, and average. The application for Variance and Standard Deviation unit was also constructed in a way that allowed students to study the concept of variance and standard deviation and solve the problems on their own. The results of this study can be used as teaching & learning materials customized for individual student in math classes and will provide anyone the opportunity to engage in an interesting self-directed learning of math at anytime. Developed in the format of real life study, the application will contribute to helping students develop a positive attitude about math.

Line Drawings from 2D Images (이차원 영상의 라인 드로잉)

  • Line drawing is a widely used style in non-photorealistic rendering because it generates expressive descriptions of object shapes with a set of strokes. Although various techniques for line drawing of 3D objects have been developed, line drawing of 2D images has attracted little attention despite interesting applications, such as image stylization. This paper presents a robust and effective technique for generating line drawings from 2D images. The algorithm consists of three parts; filtering, linking, and stylization. In the filtering process, it constructs a likelihood function that estimates possible positions of lines in an image. In the linking process, line strokes are extracted from the likelihood function using clustering and graph search algorithms. In the stylization process, it generates various kinds of line drawings by applying curve fitting and texture mapping to the extracted line strokes. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed technique can be applied to the various kinds of line drawings from 2D images with detail control.

Unproved Mutual Authentication Scheme based on Quadratic Residue for RFID (RFID를 위한 이차잉여 기반의 개선된 상호인증 기법)

  • Recently, Chen et al.'s proposed mutual authentication scheme based on the quadratic resiidue, finding the squaring root problem, for avoiding exhaustive search on the server. But, if a malicious reader sends same random value, the tag is traced by an adversary. Moreover, there is realization problem because of its limited ability to compute squaring and hash function. In this paper, we analyze Chen et al.'s scheme and its weakness. Furthermore we present an improved mutual authentication scheme based on the quadratic residue which solves the tracing problem by generating random value on the tag and uses only squaring. We also make the scheme satisfy to forward secrecy without updating and synchronizing and avoid exhaustive search.

Production Characteristics and Efficiency of Korean Railroad Industry using a Distance Function (거리함수를 이용한 한국 철도산업의 생산특성 및 효율성 분석)

  • In order to construct an information pool on the production characteristics and efficiency of Korean railroad industry, various alternative approaches have to be applied. In this paper we present an empirical application of the distance function to measure the technical efficiency and the production characteristics of Korean railroad industry, The distance function firstly introduced by Shephard (1953) provides the advantage that it does not need information about prices, so it can accommodate the multiple output nature of the railway only using the quantifies as data. This is of great relevance in the context of the public sector such as railroad industry where there are often distinct control mechanisms on input prices. Also the distance function allows us to obtain a measure of technical efficiency as well as a measure of production characteristics. From annual data on Korean railroad industry during 1964-2004, multiple output distance function is estimated using quadratic programming model. The resulting technical efficiency estimates has tended to be improved over the period $1980{\sim}2004$. The indirect Morishima elasticities of substitution indicate that the substitutabilities for labor are relatively very low or impossible. The average scale elasticity is 2.7 which means that increasing the scale by 1per cent will result in an output increase by 2.7 percent. This result indicates that economies of scale are present in the Korean railroad industry.

암반균열폭 분포 모사를 위한 수학적 방법론 개발

  • 지하암반층에 처분한 방사성핵종들의 이동방식을 이해하기 위한 방법의 일환으로 다차원 불균일장에대한 모사기법에 대해 다루었다. 이차원 암반균열평면을 설정하고 균열틈 값이 공간적으로 다양한 형태를 가질 때 지하수가 흐르는 유형과 핵종들이 이동하는 특성을 이해하기 위해, 공간적으로 다양하게 변해 가는 균열틈을 가진 암반층을 모사한 다음, 여기서 지하수와 방사성핵종들의 흐름특성을 파악하고 물질이동에 영향을 미치는 중요한 수리학적 매개변수들에 대해 논의하였다. 암반 균열폭 값은 추계적 방식으로 설정한 확률밀도분포와 공간상호간섭길이를 함수로하여 통계적방식으로 계산하였다. 각 매개변수들의 값의 차이에 따라 달라지는 분포상태변화를 그림으로 표현하여 설명하였다.

MoS2 monolayer에서의 doping effect

  • 이 연구에서는 원자 궤도 함수 기반 DFT 전자구조 계산을 이용해서 최근 각광받고 있는 이차원 물질인 MoS2 monolayer의 S 자리와 Mo 자리에 각각 전자가가 다른 원자를 치환하였을 때의 도핑 특성을 Density of States (DOSs)와 밴드구조 등의 전자구조를 통해 분석해 보았다. S자리에 Cl, Si, I, B, C, Mo 자리에는 Hf, Ta, 그리고 Re을 치환해 보았으며 계산 결과 S자리에 Cl을 치환했을 때 가장 얕은 acceptor level (VBM으로부터 0.08 eV)이 형성되었으며, Mo자리에 Re를 치환했을 때에는 resonant state를 형성하였다. 또한 Mo자리에 Ta를 치환했을 ? 가장 얕은 donor level (CBM으로부터 0.02 eV)가 형성되었다.

  • Lennard-Jones 유체 혹은 거의 구형에 가까운 분자들의 혼합물의 열역학적 성질을 예측하기 위한 용액이론이 유도되었다. 이 이론에는 에너지와 분자직경에 대한 두 개의 변수가 존재하며, 강구(hard sphere)를 중심으로 하여 동경함수(pair distribution function)를 확장시키는 교반이론(perturbation theory)에서 1/kT에 대한 일차와 이차계수의 관계로부터 얻어지는 혼합법칙을 이용하는 HSE이론과 달리 Orstein-Zernike결과와 일치되는 분자직경 변수를 먼저 구한 다음, 일차계수와 함께 얻어진 혼합법칙이 유도되었다. 이 방법으로 위 유체들의 혼합물에 적용시켰을 때, 원래의 HSE나 vdW-1의 방법보다 좋은 결과의 열역학적 성질을 예측할 수 있었다.

포항분지 제3기 이암의 크리프 특성

  • 암석은 외력하에서 탄성 및 점탄성적 변형거동을 보인다. 크리프 특성은 일정하중하에서 시간에 대한 암석의 변형으로 장기적인 지반거동을 예측할 수 있는 중요한 요소이며 암석의 점탄성적 성질을 반영한다. 포항지역에 분포하는 미고결 퇴적암인 이암을 대상으로 암석의 기본적인 물성, 역학적 특성 및 크리프 시험을 실시하였다. 일축압축강도의 40-70% 응력수준에서 순간탄성변형률은 하중의 증가에 대하여 선형적인 관계를 보였으며, 일차 크리프변형률은 시간경과에 대하여 로그함수로 적절히 설명되었다. 일차 크리프에서 이차 크리프로 진행하는 과정을 살피기 위하여 약 5일 이상의 시간이 필요하였으며 최종 크리프 변형에 의한 파괴시의 변형률은 약 0.01로 밝혀졌다.

  • A comparative study on flux functions for the 2-dimensional Euler equations has been conducted. Explicit 4-stage Runge-Kutta method is used to integrate the equations. Flux functions used in the study are Steger-Warming's, van Leer's, Godunov's, Osher's(physical order and natural order), Roe's, HLLE, AUSM, AUSM+, AUSMPW+ and M-AUSMPW+. The performance of MUSCL limiters and MLP limiters in conjunction with flux functions are compared extensively for steady and unsteady problems.
