  • This purpose of this study is to examine how emotional intelligence has a moderating effect on the relationship between emotional labor and job burnout. To test the hypotheses, moderation analysis, mediation analysis and moderated mediation analysis were performed. Of the 1,500 self-report questionnaires distributed to franchise employees, 1,412 usable responses and utilized in the final analyses. The resoults show that emotional labor significantly affected job burnout, and job burnout completely mediated the effect of emotional labor on turnover intention. And emotional intelligence moderated the relationship between emotional labor and job burnout, suggesting that the emotional dissonance-job burnout relationship was stronger in the low emotional intelligence group than in the high emotional intelligence group. The results of this study provide some implications for Korean companies entering the Chinese franchise field. First, the mediating effects of "emotional labor → job burnout → turnover intention" and the effect of emotional labor on job burnout were mitigated by self-efficacy in Chinese franchise workers. And the self-efficacy of the employees was an important factor. The implication of this study is that self-efficacy, which is a controlling variable affecting emotional labor, job burnout, and turnover intention, is important, so Korean companies that enter the Chinese franchise employ employees with high self-efficacy and to develop and implement an employee education program that can enhance self-efficacy.

Data were collected from 208 nurses working at two university hospitals. In analyzing data using SPSS/WIN 23.0 program, descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and after analyzed with Multiple regression analysis using Baron & Kenny's 3 stage procedure, confirmed indirect effect with Sobel test. Evaluation of relationships among communication competency, turnover intention and self-efficacy of subjects revealed a negative relationship(r=-0.22, p=0.001) between communication competency and turnover intention, a positive relationship(r=0.61, p<0.001) between communication competency and self-efficacy and a negative relationship(r=-0.25, <0.001) between self-efficacy and turnover intention. Concerning the mediated effect of self-efficacy in the relationship between communication competency and turnover intention, the influence of communication competency at stage 1 on turnover intention was significant(${\beta}=-0.22$, p<0.001), but communication competency at stage 3 had no significant influence on turnover intention(${\beta}=-0.11$, p=0.194). • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship among potential job-related risks, emotional dissonance, and job turnover intention of caregivers at the long-term care facilities in South Korea, and to explore the potential mediator role of burnout in this association. For the study, survey data of 434 caregivers at long-term care facilities were collected and analyzed using structural equation modeling method. The results showed that high level of caregivers'perception of the potential job-related risks led to increased burnout and turnover intention of caregivers. Second, caregivers'burnout partially mediated the effect of the potential job-related risks on turnover intention. Third, the more caregivers experience emotional dissonance, the higher the possibility of caregivers'burnout. On the other hand, emotional dissonance of caregivers did not give significant direct impact on turnover intention. Burnout fully mediated the relationship between emotional dissonance and turnover intention of caregivers. Lastly, the more caregivers experience burnout, the higher possibility of turnover intention. Based on the results, researchers suggested possible intervention methods as well as preventive measures to reduce the turnover of caregivers at long-term care facilities.
