This study examined the relationships between career commitment and job attitudes and the moderating effects of organizational support in their relationships in a sample of 230 employees of Korean venture firms. The results indicated that career commitment was positively related to skill development, and negatively to career withdrawal intention and turnover intention and that organizational support moderated the relationships between career commitment and career withdrawal intention and between career commitment and turnover intention. Finally, the implications and the limitations of this study were discussed.
This study combined Youth Panel Data(2009~2014) to analyze youth employees' turnover determinants by business scale and wage effects and the results are as follows: First, the turnover rate of youth employees was analyzed and as a result, the average turnover rate in 2014 was 26.3% and was found to be small company 25.6%, medium-sized company 25.1%, large company 17.2% in terms of business scale (based on regular permanent position), showing that the larger the company size, the lower the turnover rate. Second, turnover reasons of youth employees were found to be dissatisfaction with working conditions 40.3%, job mismatch 39.2%, personal reasons 11.8% in order and turnover by job mismatch was higher in large companies (41.5%) than in small and medium enterprises (38.5%). Third, job satisfaction and job-major agreement depending on the status of turnover were analyzed and as a result, the lower the job satisfaction and job-major agreement, the higher the turnover rate in all areas. Fourth, scale turnover determinants by business scale were analyzed through panel regression analysis and as a result, variables significantly affecting turnover were analyzed to affect objective working conditions such as wage and employment type and job satisfaction and 'job-level of education skill level major'agreement variables to lower the turnover rate as well. Fifth, wage effects depending on the status of turnover were estimated and as a result, the wage level of youth employees who changed their job was lower than that of youth employees working in the same company by about 3.1% and this wage gap was further expanded over time. But, turnover of changing employment type(temporary position${\rightarrow}$regular permanent position) and company size (small and medium enterprise${\rightarrow}$large company) was not the case. Therefore, in order to reduce the turnover rate of youth employees, it is necessary to increase overall job satisfaction and job-major agreement with objective working conditions and working in the same company for a long period of time rather than changing jobs frequently can be said to be rational choice in terms of youth employees.
This study One of the key elements of corporate competitiveness in the modern world of unlimited competition is human resource management. The reason that the world's leading companies are devoting a lot of investment and effort for good human resource development and management is that human resource can impact firm survival. In particular, there is little research on the internal and external environmental stimuli and job stress in the employee of small business which are often led to turnover, while they have suffered from chronic shortage of manpower. The purpose of this study is to determine the turnover factors in the small logistics companies and contribute to stable maintenance of workforce, facilitating human resource management and minimizing turnover. This study empirically analyzed the factors of the turnover in the organization of logistics companies from Busan Port, South Korea, which became one of the national infrastructure and the fifth world largest harbor. The conclusion proposed the development and direction of the human resource management which could promote the job environment improving the turnover factors and creating sustainable work condition through conducting preventive measures. The results indicated that the highest turnover rates was found in the category of field work, and the highest turnover group was from the 'less than one year', which implies that high turnover rates after and during job training might be greater cost to the companies than early turnover. The most common reasons for the high employee turnover were 'excessive workload' and 'dissatisfaction with wages'. Followed reasons including 'troubles with managers' and 'failure in organizational adaptation' can be understood in line with worse working conditions of the small logistic companies. It turned out that the preventive programs of the logistic enterprises had little effect through 'incentives system' and 'improving wage system' which are mainly conducted. The human resource managers appreciated the importance of 'wage raise' and 'benefits improvement'. This study is aimed at contributing to efficient human resource management through understanding of the turnover causes and human resource managers applying preventive measures. In particular, this can benefit small port logistics companies securing competitiveness and promoting persistent growth and development.
This study aims for strengthening the ability of home visiting care giver by figuring out interpersonal stress of bearing hardships which affect turnover intentions of home visiting care givers and by focusing on mediating effect of burnout. First, in summary, the analysis result was that the age of care givers and the presence of spouse are in relational factors correlated with burnout. Also age and experience of turnover have some connection with turnover intentions. Second, interpersonal stress of burnout and turnover intentions have static correlation. Third, the interpersonal stress represents increasing level of stress of burnout and the intervention of burnout shows static effects on turnover intentions of care givers. Suggestions of this study's results are, first, solution of interpersonal stress which home visiting care givers are facing should be improved by families' support or encouragement. In addition, the more professional and organized job training should be advanced to improve the understanding of various situations and coping skills. Second, the more interest should be need on business characteristics and environmental limitation. Also many centers that support care givers should reinforce their role. Third, to decrease the turnover intention which comes from interpersonal stress, doing some burnout research could be helpful and especially the legal regime which supports the research of burnout is essential.
The purposes of the present study were (1) to identify the latent classes depending on youth employees' trajectories in job satisfaction and turnover intention and (2) to test the effects of person-job fit(major fit, education level fit, skill level fit) on job satisfaction and turnover intention using Youth Panel 2001. In order to estimate latent classes of job satisfaction and turnover intention changes simultaneously and study probabilities linking latent class membership in trajectory across the two variables, we applied dual trajectory model, an extension of semi-parametric group-based approach, Results showed that four latent classes were identified for job satisfaction, which were defined, based on the trajectory patterns, as increasing group, decreasing group, medium-level group, and high-level group. And, three latent classes estimated for turnover intention were defined as low-level group, maintaining group, and rapidly decreasing group. To test the effects of person-job fit variables, we added the variables as time-dependant variables to the unconditional latent class model. The effect of education level fit and skill level fit were found significant in the groups which are low in job satisfaction and have high in turnover intention. Findings from this study suggest the need to consider trajectory heterogeneity in the study of youth employees' job satisfaction and turnover intention to capture the dynamic dimension of overlap between the two constructs.
This study aims to contribute to overcoming difficulties that disability assistance workers experience by verifying the effect of job stress and self-efficacy on their turnover intentions, and whether job engagement has a mediating effect in the process. For this purpose, a survey was performed on 290 disability assistance workers associated with disability support organizations in the Seoul and Gyeonggi area during the period of 2019.5.1.-2019.6.30. The collected survey data was analyzed with the SPSS 24.0 statistical software, the results of which are as follows. First, job stress and self-efficacy appears to affect job engagement. High levels of conflict and maladjustment in the workplace had adverse effects on job engagement, while high levels of emotional, evaluative, and informational support had positive effects. Second, job stress and self-efficacy also had an effect on turnover intentions. High levels of conflict, instability, and maladjustment in the workplace led to a higher level of turnover intentions. Third, job engagement had a mediating effect between job stress and turnover intentions. Fourth, job engagement had no mediating effect between self-efficacy and turnover intentions. These results serve to propose practical measures to reduce the job stress and improve the job engagement of disability assistance workers.
This paper analyzes the effectiveness of social networks in finding jobs and estimates the value of job search network using the Korean Laber and Income Panel Study (KLIPS) dataset and utilizing the Difference-in-Difference Propensity Score Matching (PSM) methodology (Heckman et al., 1997). While the wide use of social networks in the Korean labor market is often perceived as 'nepotism,' this study confirms that social networks, by serving as an effective information transmitter between job search and recruitment, make a significant contribution to improving the adequacy of job matching in the domestic labor market. In order to verify the effectiveness of using social networks for getting jobs, this study looks into the cases of labor turnover using social networks and also not using it. In the aspect of individual satisfaction improvement relating to workplace and job duties, both cases of turnover turn out to experience an increased satisfaction by 2~3 points (on a 100-score scale). Meanwhile, as for the educational and technical adequacy improvement, no positive effects are found in the case of turnover without social networks, whereas the educational and technical adequacy improvement turns out to increase by 2.13 and 2.52 points, respectively, in the case of turnover using social networks. The effect of income increase through turnover using social networks registered 40,074 Korean won per month (as of 2010), which can be considered as the result from the improved educational and technical adequacy. Of all things being considered, the value of job search network per wage worker in the Korean society is estimated to be 18.72 million won in terms of life-cycle wage improvement, and 758.2 scores in terms of the improvement of working life satisfaction. Provided that the cash value of satisfaction score 1 is equivalent to 'n' times 10,000 won, the aggregate value of job search network is estimated to be 18.72+7.582n million won, which means the total amount of costs that a wage worker in the Korean society willingly pays to maintain and manage job networks for lifetime.
Proficiency-centered manufacturing environment of the past is now expanding into that focused on expertise and knowledge. So the paradigm shift about human resources and management of them is required to maintain competitiveness and run the organization in a stable way. Many studies have shown that in various fields job competence has a positive influence on job satisfaction, but researchers' point of view is limited only to proficiency. With a focus on this situation, this study has analyzed empirically the effect of job knowledge and proficiency on a turnover intention and its mediating effect of job satisfaction in S company whose manufacturing environment is changing fast. The analysis has shown that the job knowledge and proficiency have a positive effect on job satisfaction and that job satisfaction influences a turnover intention. It has an important meaning in that by estimating the relationship between employees' job knowledge and their turnover intention, this study is providing a basic data needed to manage job competence of manufacturing labor force.

For empirical analysis, data were collected from 482 employees working in a Korean conglomerate. The empirical results indicate that emotional exhaustion and diminished personal accomplishment have a negative impact on job satisfaction, however a positive impact on turnover intention. Supportive leadership is found to moderate the relationship between burnout and job satisfaction. There is no moderation effect between burnout and turnover intention. The current research highlights the fact that supportive leadership can determine job satisfaction in respond to workers' experienced job burnout. The theoretical and managerial implications for overcoming workers' job burnout are discussed.
The purpose of this study is to examine the mediating effects of job satisfaction of human service employees on emotional leadership-turnover intention relationship. Additionally, this study examines chief executive's employment type differences on results of the structural relationship. To examine them, employees from 56 local healthy family support centers in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do were surveyed and 295 of them were finally analyzed. The methodology adopted in this study is the structural equation modeling and multi-group analysis. The results of this study are as follows. Firstly, emotional leadership of supervisor has a significant influence on the job satisfaction. Secondly, it was found that emotional leadership and job satisfaction have a significantly negative effect on turnover intention. Thirdly, job satisfaction works as a mediator between the emotional leadership and turnover intention. Finally, it was confirmed that emotional leadership is a signifiant factor for job satisfaction, and that the paths vary with job satisfaction according to employment type of chief executives. Based on the above findings, theoretical and practical implications are discussed.
