This paper attempts to explore the use of social metadata in academic libraries. A total of 173 academic libraries were examined and analyzed. Various social metadata were reviewed, involved with users' participation and contribution. Error-reports, tagging, recommendations, ratings, reviews, comments, sharing, and community were identified that support selection, sharing and collaboration through social engagement. Suggestions drawn from the findings are offered to utilize social metadata in order to enhance users' contribution and interaction. It is hoped that this exploratory study will provide insight into the use of social metadata in academic libraries.

The change in information technology demands drastic change in digital library service. This study defines what a social semantic digital library should consist of and proposes a new architecture that incorporates core functions needed in designing a SSDL. The SSDL supports semantic information processing based on metadata and ontology and is an innovation system that allows SSDL users to participate in generating new knowledge by interacting with existing metadata and ontology structures. This study designed a SSDL model that consists of five horizontal and two vertical structures.

This study examined whether there is any difference in the public library patrons' library uses depending on their participation in the educational and cultural programs of such libraries. Additional analysis was conducted to determine if the particular educational and cultural program participants' showed any consistent library use patterns. The statistical analysis of such program offerings and the patron survey data resulted in the findings such as that there were statistically significant differences in how the patrons' used the libraries, the number of library resources borrowed, and the frequency of library websites and/or mobile applications used based on their participation in the educational and cultural programs and also the types of programs that they attended.

This study analyzed the general user behaviors and the perceptions on service quality, satisfaction, loyalty of the users of the special winter vacation programs at the public libraries in Daegu Metropolitan City. Among the 444 collected questionnaires from the participants in the programs at 8 public libraries in the City, a total of 300 were analyzed for the study. As results, many participants have visited the libraries with their family members, and have applied the programs through the helps from their parents. They rated higher the service quality, the satisfaction, and the loyalty than other child users of the children's services as well as the adult participants of the cultural programs and of the public libraries. In the analysis of the structural equation model (SEM) on the service quality, customer satisfaction and loyalty, all of the service quality factors of special winter vacation programs, namely program contents and instructors, staff supports and services, and facilities and equipments, have significant effects on the user satisfaction. Staff supports and services factor of the service quality has significant direct effects on loyalty along with the overall satisfaction, but program contents and instructors factor and facilities and equipments factor have no significant direct effects on loyalty.

For urban parks' rational and efficient management, research on creating green spaces in living area through citizen participation is continuously being conducted. However, in existing studies, citizens are recognized as a homogeneous group, and research on the intention to participate in park management according to user characteristics has not been conducted. A few studies have attempted to show differences through conceptual variables, such as user satisfaction and attachment to parks, but studies on sociodemographic factors, such as the users' age, have not been conducted. This study was conducted to ascertain the differences in preferred parks and park management participation methods by age, targeting various parks located in ten districts of Incheon Metropolitan City. Regression analysis was performed after collecting 1,226 questionnaires, applying a population-proportional allocation in the ten districts. As a result of the study, it was found that the difference according to the age of users has the most influence on the willingness to manage the park rather than the satisfaction or other factors. Also, a chi-square analysis was conducted to find the differences in preferred urban parks and management methods by age. The results showed that the choice to manage parks was statistically higher for those in their 50s or older, and the differences in preferred park types and desired park greening methods suggested implications for park management plans by age.

The nature accompanies with natural and ecological truth, worsening living environment without think using of our nature. Now, the sustainable researches to study peculiarities in ecological dwellings considered with nature and the development of human life's quality in housing itself, have been progressing. Also it is needed to show understanding about ecological dwellings in the user participant's consciousness such as, unification thought with nature, circulation thought of substance, and environment friendly thought of the traditional housing. Chose five examples which is applying ecological architectural concept by each Chungbuk, Chungnam, Jeonbuk, Gyeongbuk, Gyeonggi district and I investigated change of exterior or interior material, application of ecological system, and etc. With these background, this study will survey cases of ecological dwellings and find peculiar characteristics of ecological dwellings through researching the correlation between the concept in user's consciousness and application method.

This study aims to develop the lesson plan of public library user education for children for the activation of user education. For the development of lesson plan, elementary school 3rd and 4th graders were selected as user education subjects through the literature survey, and orientation were derived as contents of user education. This study developed a lesson plan that applies Jonassen's constructivist learning environments to specifically design the librarian's role as teacher in user education with voluntary and subjective education participation of the children. Lesson plan was evaluated in terms of usefulness and appropriateness.

In light of the recent advancement in networking and information technology, the direct information request through website has increasingly proven to be the preferred means over visiting physical archives. Thus, the proper utilization of a communication tool capable of sufficiently capturing user feedback and requests is an absolute necessity. This paper examines the availability and utilization of alternative user participatory communication tools in government websites with particular focus on the archives in South Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, China, and Japan. In assessing the use of alternative user participatory communication tools in these archives, we examined the availability of communication mediums other than the online forums, email, and telephone with particular focus on social media tools that may offer a degree of familiarity for the user. Our research indicates that the most frequently utilized social media tool is Facebook while the archive offering the greatest variety of alternative user participatory communication tools was the United States archive.

This study aims at introducing the subjective experiences of the users who have been involved in care management, and finding out the meaning and essence of services. Total 16 interviewees who have experienced case management participated in a focus interview. The analysis of raw data brought about total 408 meaning units. Then, through restructuring and summarizing, 122 units of central meaning were revealed. After classifying 23 topics were found. Then, after consistent phenomenological comparison among the 23 topics, 7 essential topics were discovered. Based on the results and discussion above, this Study would like to suggest : approach to integrated care management of family, the meaning of social worker as the partner of life, the object of care management is the change from isolated being to understand the each other.

This study investigated the differences in smart speaker users' loneliness, social disconnection, and attachment, frequency of daily speaker usage, and anthropomorphic behavior depending on the level of smart speaker anthropomorphism. A total of 320 users participated in an online survey. Results showed significant differences between the high anthropomorphism group and the low anthropomorphism group in their level of loneliness, social disconnection, anxiety attachment, frequency of daily speaker usage, and anthropomorphic behaviors. However, no significant difference in avoidance attachment between the two groups was found. The findings imply that interaction design can possibly enhance positive social interaction with smart speakers.
