In spite of various efforts to resolve digital divide of people with disabilities, it still has a long way to go because there lack of identifying information needs of people with disabilities and potential users including their family and the related, and integrated information channels such as a portal, and so on. In this context, this study aims at analyzing the users' unique information behavior and evaluating usability of domestic web information services for people with disabilities which are currently serviced. Increasingly, we suggest new functional requirements of building a library portal for people with disabilities.

This study examined librarians' perceptions of Information Commons(I.C.), user's information seeking behaviors, and new role of library in the digital ages. Interviews with 28 librarians found that the perceptions of the librarians were widely differed depending on their understandings of the nature of the space. The interview results were divided into three different categories of librarians: the librarians; 1) understanding library as a place only with academic functions, 2) library as academic place along with multi-cultural functions, and 3) library as open learning space with focus on creativity and discovery of users. The findings also indicated that all these perceptions are closely related to understanding of the role of library and its future development.

This study as an exploratory study, investigates personal cloud service use which has been developed and distributed rapidly. Focusing on the user's characteristics and use behaviors, the influences of connected uses of platform and contents are empirically figured out. The results show that the contents which need small-data capacity like pictures and musics have been used very frequently in a cloud service. Second, 'platform-connected use' has been found out as the most influential factor in cloud service. SNS, e-mail, and personal innovativeness are also proved as significant factors. As a leading study analyzing theoretically the personal cloud service, it implies that it is necessary to consider the user's characteristics and use behaviors in developing cloud service in the market and making policy for promoting relevant industry.

While a number of studies have been conducted on the multimedia rooms in academic libraries, they have limitations both in the research scope and in the data analysis methods. The principal limitations are: (1) Lack of investigation on the variation in user satisfaction by users' major areas and utilization behaviors; (2) Insufficiency of examining the variation in user satisfaction with diverse library areas; (3) Lack of consideration of service providers' opinions. Accordingly, this study aimed to examine the follows: (1) investigating how users' major fields and utilization behaviors affect user satisfaction; (2) determining the relationships between the area satisfaction factors and satisfaction in general; and (3) discovering what to improve, as indicated by users and service providers. On the basis of the results, the suggestions relate to the improvements of the followings: (1) the existing system; (2) equipments and facilities; (3) resources; (4) user education; and (5) administrative and legal support.

The use of alcohol is recognized as having negative consequences on clinical and psychosocial outcomes in service users with major mental illnesses. This necessitates an introduction of intervention measures in domestic mental health service in Korea. Since research basis on which such measures are developed lacks, this paper aims at exploring drinking patterns of Korean service users and suggesting directions and strategies for intervention. The data came from 151 service users recruited at 14 service settings in Seoul Metropolitan area. The quantitative part of the data includes their recent drinking experiences in terms of patterns and severity; the qualitative part includes information on the drinking context. The data were compared among three types of service settings, each of which differs in physical availability of alcohol by their users. Each group revealed distinctive features in drinking patterns, the author thus suggested directions and strategies of intervention specific to type of service setting.

국내 유무선 인터넷은 세계 시장과 통신트랜드를 주도할 정도로 이용자 규모, 서비스 다양성, 서비스 수용성 측면에서 커다란 성과를 나타내며 이는 선순환 구조를 통해 단말기, 장비, 콘텐츠 산업의 경쟁력을 강화시키는데 기여하고 있다. 또한 국내 통신시장은 와이브로와 HSDPA로 대표되는 광대역 무선인터넷 시대를 선도할 것으로 기대되고 있다. 본 글에서는 전국 일반인을 대상으로 시장조사 결과를 바탕으로 유무선 인터넷의 이용행태를 파악하고 광대역 무선인터넷에 대한 니즈를 탐색하고자 하였다. 분석결과, 국내 유무선 인터넷 시장은 10~20대의 학생층뿐만 아니라 30대 이상의 화이트 칼라로 이용층으로 확대되며 이 계층이 광대역 무선인터넷의 핵심 이용자군으로 잠재력을 지닌 것으로 나타났다.

본 연구에서는 질문지법을 이용하여 과학기술분야 연구자들의 정보요구를 파악하고 이를 바탕으로 정보요구별 탐색행태를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 특정 정보요구에 대해 비공식 커뮤니케이션 채널이 정보탐색에 중요한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 탐색과정에서 이용자가 느끼는 정보부족의 원인에 대해서는 정보요구별로 어느 정도 차이가 있는 것이 확인되었다. 반면, 정보탐색환경에서 연구자들이 중요하게 생각하는 요소는 정보요구별로 큰 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 정보요구를 바탕으로 과학기술분야 연구자의 탐색행태 분석결과를 적용함으로써 이용자 특성에 따라 개별화된 과학기술 정보 서비스를 기대할 수 있다.

빠르게 성장하는 유비쿼터스 환경 속에서 보육서비스 대부분 기반 기술 개발이나 학습 시스템 기술 개발에 한정되어있다. 따라서 이제는 유아가 성장하는 시기에 필요한 다양한 탐색적 경험이 제공되어 바람직한 성장과 발달을 도와주는 유비쿼터스 환경 기반 보육서비스의 질적 수준 향상을 위한 개발 단계에서 활용할 수 잇는 이용자 중심의 보육서비스 가이드라인에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 이를 위해 유치원을 이용하거나 관련된 이용자의 행태에 영향을 주는 정황(Context)의 중요성이 강조된다. 본 연구에서는 유치원 환경 Context 요소와 보육서비스 개발을 위한 도메인을 선정하고 유치원에서 유아를 중심으로 정황 조사(Contextual Inquiry)를 통해 현장에서 일어나는 다양한 태스크들의 시나리오를 행동 절차 순으로 분류하여 행태 정보를 구조화 하고 유아를 중심으로 관련된 사람과 사물 간의 상호관계에 대한 포괄적인 정황의 흐름을 분석하여 다이어그램을 통해 모델링 하여 사용자 니즈를 도출함으로써 유아의 상호관계와 행태 중심의 유비쿼터스 환경 기반 보육서비스를 기획하고 개발하는 단계에 고려해야 할 요소를 제시하였다.

본 연구에서는 시소러스를 구축하기 위해 필요한 디스크립터 수집원으로써 이용자 로그데이터를 분석하여 후보 디스크립터의 외형적 특성을 분석하였다. 분석대상인 이용자 로그데이터는 국내 검색엔진가운데 야후와 라이코스를 대상으로 하였다. 분석결과, 이용자들은 대부분 검색어로써 명사와 복합명사를 사용하였으며, 조사 '의'이외에는 다른 품사로 이루어진 검색어는 거의 존재하지 않음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 검색어로써 이용자들은 고유명사(외국어 포함)를 많이 사용함으로써, 국내외 지침에서 권고하는 고유명사의 최소한 사용지침과 실제 이용자 사이의 이용행태와의 차이를 알 수 있었다. 따라서 국내외 시소러스 개발지침을 수용하면서, 이용자 중심의 시소러스를 개발하기 위해서는 전거어나 유사어 사전을 대등관계와 연동하여 개발하는 것을 고려해야 한다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze how library visitors use spaces in the library and to make suggestions for improving library use environments. Library use patterns were analyzed by tracking the users' smartphone WiFi. A library located in Seoul, Korea was selected and detectors were installed in the library. The suggestions from the results analyzing data collected between September, 2016 and December, 2016 were as followed. 27.17% of library visitors used a space in the library. Among them, 28.69% used the lobby to return their checked-out materials. Therefore, the library is recommended to install a device in the area in which users are easy to return their items. Additionally, since the spatial relationship between cultural program room and book shelves was low, those programs might be improved by providing library materials related with them.
