  • Commercial properties are gaining importance in the national economy, drawing more and more interests from agencies and individuals. Therefore, objective and accurate investment information needs to be supplied in order to support rational decision making and market transparency. To contribute to guiding the Korean commercial property market to become as transparent and competitive as the markets of developed countries, this study aims to seek for ways to establish a Korean commercial property information framework. As part of the activities to achieve the goal, the Korean commercial property market information was first evaluated in terms of data collection, production and operation. Then, US NCREIF, which is operated by the private sector, and Singapore's URA, managed by the public sector, were considered as the examples of well-managed foreign commercial property market information frameworks. Efficient management of the system requires establishing a monitoring scheme, and users' accessibility and information availability will be enhanced through phased expansion of the information.

  • This study suggests a design for an analytical software program and method for multitasking e-sports viewing through the web using an eye tracking device. To fulfill this task, we designed a Window of Interest (WOI) to measure and record visually on a screen wherever numerous multitasking activities occur. In addition, we developed an OBS (Opensource Broadcaster Software) plug-in that records and streams participant viewing behavior patterns in real time. The purpose of this study is as follows. First, unlike existing tools that limit web interface recording to still images, the developed tool can record dynamically via media such as videos. Second, when several windows are processed on a screen, the tool can accurately record the gaze positions of the participants. Lastly, the tool can enhance the objective validity of the data as it can be implemented in natural situations. Therefore, this study can trace natural viewing patterns and behavior as we do not create artificial experimental environments and stimuli.

  • Hwangdun is a remote rural village in Korea, located in the montane central part of the nation. In the early of 2000, the provincial government of Kangwon-do designated Hwangdun as a model E-village. The village was connected to the national information backbone network, and 100 personal computers and 66 Internet TVs were distributed among the villagers for free of charge. The village center too was turned to a ‘tele-cottage’harnessed with PCs, a kiosk and peripheral devices. The Hwangdun E-village, being the first case of its kind in Korea, has drawn much attention nationwide, and has triggered similar informatization investments in a number of rural areas. The present study conducted a survey in the early of 2001 to examine what the E-village Project has meant for the people in Hwangdun. In particular, the survey focused on the characteristics of the households having computers and of the computer users, the ways in which people use their computers, the kinds of problems and difficulties the users have faced, and the changes of Hwangdun after the introduction of computers to the village. This paper describes the major findings of the study and discusses the research and policy implications of those findings.

  • Today, Internet users can easily create and share the digital contents with others through various online content sharing services such as YouTube. So, many portal sites are flooded with lots of user created contents (UCC) in various media such as texts and videos. Estimating popularity of UCC is a crucial concern to both users and the site administrators. This paper proposes a method to predict the popularity of Internet articles, a kind of UCC, using the dynamics of the online contents themselves. To analyze the dynamics, we regarded the access counts of Internet posts as the popularity of them and analyzed the variation of the access counts. We derived a model to predict the popularity of a post represented by the time series of access counts, which is based on an exponential function. According to the experimental results, the difference between the actual access counts and the predicted ones is not more than 10 for 20,532 posts, which cover about 90.7% of the test set.

  • After introducing iPhone in Korea, the craze for iPhone was perceived to be extraordinaire phenomenon and the mobile businesses and researchers paid attention to it. This research purposes to explore more predictive model that explain to adopt the smartphones in Korea. This research show that all of models, TPB, TAM and the integrated model, are significant to explain intention to use the smartphones. TPB explains the higher than TAM, and the integrated model explains the slightly higher than TPB. These results suggest that researcher explore and build the more predictive model that comprise social influences and personal attributes than TAM that is employed broad to study new information communication systems and devices.

  • The nuclear knowledge management is now being operated in the KAERI and also actively practiced in other member states of the IAEA. The INIS secretariat leads the knowledge management. As the traditional service areas of librarians are decreasing, the knowledge management is considered as a promising service area replacing the traditional librarian's role. This new area is in Blue Ocean and needs to great concern and understanding. INIS is the world's leading information system on the peaceful uses of nuclear energy. INIS is operated by the IAEA in collaboration with its member states and cooperating international organizations. INIS has more than 2.7 million items and provides users a comprehensive information reference service for literature in nuclear science and technology. The input amount ranks fifth in the world and it operates the INIS 2 host site. INIS in Korea is playing a leading role in the IAEA.

  • Based on the current status of use of L-Commerce installed in the Yongsan Public Library and Mapo Lifelong Learning Center, this study suggested the direction of spatial design for the public library's makerspace with L-Commons model. To this end, we investigated the literature research on library makerspaces and the case studies of makerspaces installed in 25 public libraries in Korea and 18 public libraries in the US. And In-depth interviews and user surveys were conducted. The public library makerspace presented through this study should be an open space where everyone in the community can easily enter, break down barriers between all classes in the region, and lead to smooth communication. Second, it should be a learning, cooperation, and creative space where resources can be shared and cooperation for creative activities and projects can be carried out. Third, it should be a creative workspace where community members can turn ideas into physical things that anyone can't do elsewhere or work on something interesting.
