A Research on Consumer Preference for a Forest based Korean Medical Healing Tourism Product (산림기반형 한방치유 관광상품의 선호도에 관한 연구)

  • Objective of this study is to provide basic information for developing more differentiated and targeted forest healing policy and Korean medical healing programs grounded on consumer preference for forest based Korean medical healing tourism products. The internet survey(CAWI) by percentage quota sampling with 400 Seoulite ages over 30 by the age, area, and gender was conducted, and 317 samples were used for a final analysis. 61.5% of the Seoulite associated 'forest bath/walking in the woods/tree' with an image of a forest based Korean medical healing tourism product, and preference for the product and the intention to use were positive at the percentages of 72.9% and 67.5%, respectively. Preferred areas were Seoul/Gyeonggi-do(53.5%) and Gangwon-do(38.8%). 'Stress solving and refreshment', 'taking a forest bath and a walk', and 'maintaining and promoting health' were the main purposes of the use. As for a therapy, 'walking therapy' was most preferred, and 'ergotherapy' was the next. First priority as for a use facility was 'healing trail', and 'professional medical facility' ranked second. Although important decision attributes were ' cost of use', 'food', and 'friendliness of medical staff', all the other sets of attributes related to use convenience, quality of medical service and tourism activities also recorded high, which forecasts higher consumer expectation for the product. As the result showing differences in consumer preference by the demographic segmentation, differentiated and segmented consumer needs should be considered when planing and managing a product. The scope of the study is limited to a demographic segmentation which is a basic stage of understanding consumer preference, therefore more detailed future researches on complicated and multi-dimensional consumer needs are required.

A study on the utilization of complementary and alternative medicine for elementary children (학동기 소아에서 보완대체요법의 이용실태)

  • Purpose: Recently, complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) has been increasingly used in children. Studies have shown that 34% of adults and 11% of children use CAM in the USA and Canada. The purpose of this study was to investigate the prevalence and patterns of CAM use in elementary children in Korea. Methods:From July to August 2007, parents of elementary children completed a questionnaire survey at Gwang-ju. In all, 794 questionnaires were analyzed. Results:Of the 794 respondents, 278 answered that their pupils (35%) had experienced CAM. The following types of CAM therapy were used: herbal medicine, 62.5% dietary supplements, 31.2% vitamins, 30.2% and acupuncture, 11.1%. CAM therapies were used for the following diseases: nutritional deficiency, 33.3% atopic dermatitis, 31.3% arthralgia, 31.3% allergic rhinitis, 28.8% obesity, 26.3% and asthma. The following were the motives to use CAM: prevention of diseases (33.5%), dissatisfaction with modern medicine (21.2%), and complementary therapy to modern medicine (20.5%). People gained information about CAM through neighbors (65%) and mass media (21%). Moreover, 83 parents (30%) were satisfied with CAM because of its effectiveness. Conclusion:Many parents have advocated the use of CAM in their children. However, most of them used CAM without any prescription or adequate knowledge. Further studies are required to determine the efficacy of CAM.

Toward an Evaluation Framework of Library Services: Re-examination of LibQUAL+TM (도서관 서비스 품질평가 도구로서 LibQUAL+TM에 대한 재평가)

  • While $LibQUAL+^{TM}$ is in the headlines of many articles focusing on library service evaluations, little research has been conducted to study the relationship between the $LibQUAL+^{TM}$ factors and the adoption of library services. It remains unclear whether the factors of $LibQUAL+^{TM}$ have any effect on its adoption. A framework was adapted from Icek Ajzen's theory of planned behavior and proposed to extract factors affecting the adoption of library services. The factors were examined via data collection from a Web-based questionnaire survey with college students in the United States. Factor analyses and multiple regression analysis were conducted. Findings show that the intention to use library services is explained by attitude toward library service quality. The attitudinal factors that are significant are (1) perceived personal control, (2) perceived affect of service, and (3) perceived comprehensiveness of information. The relative importance among the factors is also represented by the numbered sequence. However, perceived timeliness of information access and the perception of library as place do not have a significant effect on the intention. This study extends the research on library service evaluation, and provides a new evaluation framework by applying adoption behaviors.

The Need for and Use of Forest Education According to Age Group (연령별 산림교육 이용현황 및 요구도 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the current status of and necessity for forest education in Korea in order to promote educational programs on the topic among different age groups. A survey conducted among 1,542 adults nationwide indicated that different age groups had variable degrees of awareness and experience of forest education programs. Specifically, older people responded more positively in terms of awareness, experience, and willingness to engage with forest education programs, and engaging in individual holistic development. In addition, participant companion types and motivation for participating in forest education programs were different among age groups. Regarding motivation for participating in forest education programs, all groups answered, "to enjoy the forest landscape," "to experience new things," and "to refresh themselves." In particular, individuals in their 30s had a desire to learn, while those in their 50s had a desire for a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, people in their 40s showed the highest participation rate in forest education programs, alongside their children and family members. In terms of operating period, older individuals preferred long-term operating programs. Accessibility was the most important factor for all age groups when selecting forest education programs. We hope that this study will be useful for the development and promotion of forest education programs for all age groups.

An Analysis on the Change of Usage Behavior for Bundle Services in Korean Telecommunication Market (방송통신 결합상품서비스 이용행태 변화 분석 연구)

  • We analyze changes of consumption behavior for bundle services for the latest three years focusing on comparing the detailed service types and service providers to understand competition structure in the market. Our major findings and implications are as follows. First, the mobile telecommunication service is certainly deemed to be a major selection criteria for bundling service provider, therefore the leading company in the mobile telecommunication has become more significant market power. Second, IPTV has an important influence for slection of bundling service provider, lately in some cases, rather than broadband Internet. Third, the individual services affecting the selection of bundling service providers clearly showed differentiation among three operators as a mobile telecommunication service of SK Group, a broadband Internet of KT, and an IPTV of LGU+. In addition, the importance of individual services in securing subscribers has been increased as the preference factors to switch a service provider were synchronized with the decision of major bundling service provider. Finally, although it is difficult to find customers' lock-In due to the latest change of their intentions to switch a provider, we find it is continuously necessary to monitor customers' lock-in as there are more long-term customers with re-contracts. Our results provide the policy implications based on the change of competition structure and usage behavior in the bundle market which is not evaluated the competiton situation.

The Awareness of Usage of Parking Lot in the Parking Environment Improving Zone and Activation of Private Parking Lot (주차환경개선지구의 주차장 이용의식 분석과 민영주차장 활성화에 관한 연구)

  • The study was carried out to determine the real condition in parking environment improving zone suffering poor supply for demand and then present a solution to it. To this end, the study reviewed the existing data including parking ratio which means percent of the total parking space in the region divided by the number of registered vehicles in the zones and surveyed residents for their awareness of parking lots. The results showed some major findings as follows. Parking ratio is low and illegal parking is serious in the zones, which, as a consequence, it results in lack of parking area in the zones. More than 70% of those who live in the zones had inconvenience during parking. And insufficient space for parking generates illegal parking. Residents in the zones answered that the best way to deal with the parking problems is to create more parking zones. As they had more difficulties having parking spaces, they showed stronger tendency to use newly-built parking lots. The study also gave thought to building private parking lots as a solution to the parking issues in the zones. And it suggested that supporting policies on the private parking lots be strengthened to promote the private parking lots in residential areas. Those policies will gradually improve parking problems in the parking environment improving zone.

A Study on User's Perception Survey for the Validity of Establishment of a Public Libraries: Focused on Sasanggu in Busan (공공도서관 건립의 타당성을 위한 이용자 인식조사 연구 - 부산시 사상구를 중심으로 -)

  • This is a study to establish the feasibility in terms of the use of the J library, which will be built in Jurye-dong, Sasang-gu, Busan. Accordingly, this study conducted a community analysis and user survey to confirm the necessity of building a library and suggested directions for services that the library should provide in the future. To this end, a community analysis was conducted primarily on Sasang-gu, such as population distribution status, cultural institution status, and Sasang-gu vision. Afterwards, visitors to Sasang Library, Small Library, and Community Center were surveyed on the status of use of existing public libraries and the awareness of J Library to be built in the future. As a result of the survey, the necessity and intention to use J Library were found to be high, and the expectation for prompt provision of sufficient printed materials such as books and magazines was the highest. In the case of the desired space, the demand for 'open space' and 'small meeting space(family room)' was high, In the case of specialized services, there was a high demand for humanities, arts & music, movies, etc., but it was shown that they showed a general interest in various fields.

Prediction Survey on Construction Guarantee Market Due to the Restructuring of the Construction Industry's Production System (건설산업 생산체계 개편에 따른 건설보증시장 변화 예측 조사)

  • The construction guarantee market is a rear market affected by changes in the construction industry and market. As the restructuring of the construction industry's production system is being carried out, such as the abolition of regulations on business field between general and specialty contractors, major changes are expected not only in the construction market but also in the construction guarantee market. In construction guarantee market, there are currently three Contractor Financial Cooperatives, which are divided based on business field and business type(General, Specialty and Plant & Mechanical). The abolition of business field regulation will have various effects on construction guarantee market, such as forming a competitive structure among the three Contractor Financial Cooperatives. Therefore the role of the construction guarantee institutions are also required to change. This study predicted the changes in the construction guarantee market after the restructuring of construction industry and analyzed the ripple effect on the market. This study reviewed the details of the reorganization plan on the construction industry, policies and statistical data related to construction guarantee, and lastly conducted the survey on each member of the three Contractor Financial Cooperatives to analyze the usage behavior in the future guarantee market. Based on the result of this study, the members of both the General Contractor Financial Cooperative and Specialty Contractor Financial Cooperative are not willing to change the existing institutions, but a lot of them are expected to use other institutions in duplicate. The members of the Plant & Mechanical Contractor Financial Cooperative are most willing to use other guarantee institutions.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the impacts of e-service quality factors on customer satisfaction and behavior intention. This study also aims to examine the relationship between the variables of web site service quality variables (reliability, information, design, communication, entertainment, convenience), the customer satisfaction with web site, relationship intention and word of mouth intention. As the results, the study found that factors of web site service quality variables has a positive impact on customer satisfaction. And customer satisfaction also has a positive impact on relationship intention and word of mouth intention. At the same time, it was found that customer satisfaction had an effect on relationship intention through the mediation of word of mouth intention indirectly as well as directly. According to those results, marketing managers should develop different service strategies.

  • 소비자의 기호가 다양화되면서 다품종 소량생산에 따른 대량 맞춤화에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있으며, 1990년대 후반부터 급격히 확산되고 있는 인터넷의 발달 및 디지털 기기의 확산에 따라 인터넷을 기반으로 한 전자상거래 환경에서의 대량 맞춤화 프로세스는 최근 의류 분야에서 주요한 경향으로 받아들여지고 있다. 대량 맞춤화 의류 제품의 수요는 인터넷 등 IT 기술의 발달과 맞물려 최근 개인의 특성과 취향을 고려한 인터넷 맞춤서비스를 기반으로 증가추세에 있으며, CAD 등의 테크놀러지의 활용을 통하여 디자인, 패턴제작, 재단 등의 자동 시스템을 도입함으로써 그 영역을 확장하고 있다. 이에 발맞추어 국내에서는 '디지털 패션 시스템'을 통해 3차원 바디 스캔, 3차원 컴퓨터 그래픽스, 3차원 Simulation, DID, DTP, 맞춤주문형 제품의 대량 생산기술 등의 단위 기술이 기업단위로 활용되는 등 가상현실을 이용한 3차원 가상쇼핑 등을 포함하는 기술로서 차세대 섬유패션 산업의 창출에 기여하고 있다. 그 중, 디지털 텍스타일 프린팅은 디자인에서부터 날염까지 전체 공정을 컴퓨터로 처리하여 기존의 복잡한 날염 공정을 단축하여 다품종 소량생산이 가능한 날염 방식으로, 대량 맞춤형 프로세스를 지원하며, 프로슈머(prosumer)로서의 소비자가 직접 참여하여 그들의 욕구를 최대화 할 수 있는 소비자 만족을 극대화 시킬 수 있는 대량 맞춤화 프로세스 중 하나의 단계로 소비자의 수요 반영하는 요소로 작용하고 있다. 즉, 디지털 패션 시스템에서의 디지털 텍스타일 프린팅은 대량 맞춤형 의류 제품에 있어 소비자 만족도와 직결되는 요인으로 분석된다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 디지털 패션 시스템 기반의 대량맞춤형 섬유제품 및 디지털 텍스타일 프린팅 적용 섬유제품에 대한 기초 평가 문항을 제시하고, 소비자 태도를 분석하여 제시하였다. 또한, 분석된 기초 소비자 태도를 반영하여, 디지털 패션 시스템 기반의 디지털 텍스타일 프린팅(Digital Textile Printing) 의류 제품의 선호도, 인지도, 수요도 및 구입의향을 분석하여 최종적으로 디지털 패션 시스템에 적용된 디지털 텍스타일 프린팅 의류 제품의 수요 경향을 제시하였다.
