  • Recently, Subway Line No. 9, described as a 'hell-like' subway for its recorded load factor of max. 240% due to the opening of the 2nd phase extension section, has been causing problems of recurrent congestion in a subway station building. A recurrent congestion in the station building becomes a factor to offend rail users and to reduce the efficiency of railway management. This study aims to establish the methodology for effect evaluation of information provided to rail users, and conducts a gate metering case study considering the congested conditions at a platform among the methodologies for effect evaluation. The metering effect evaluation by load factor was conducted through selecting the micro simulation and pedestrian simulation tool grafting a gate metering. As a result, it was confirmed that, if gate metering is performed, the service level and pedestrian density of a platform by load factor would improve. In other words, if metering is conducted at a platform, it is possible to control the load factor in the waiting space of a platform. Therefore, it was judged through this study that it is possible to set up the index for effect evaluation of information provided to manage congestion of rail users, and establish the methodology for effect evaluation of information provided to rail users through a program.

A Study on Improvement Plan of City Bus Kindness Service (시내버스 친절서비스 향상 방안에 대한 연구)

  • The city of Busan implemented the 'Bus Quasi-Public Operating System' as a part of the Public Transit Activation Policy. Although the reorganization of routes and fares had temporarily increased the number of passengers, it is facing a downtrend currently. This implies the limited capability of increasing the use of the city buses only by adjusting the systematic components of the system. Thus, the research aims to analyse the effect of improving the 'kindness service' as an alternative way to vitalize the use of city buses. The analysis uses the survey encompassing sixteen 'kindness service' factors that was collected from the passengers and the drivers of the city buses in Busan, and some of the notable findings are followed. According to the analysis of determining the level of importance on the 'kindness service' factors, four major categories were derived; a category to maintain/reinforce the kindness service, a category to make incremental improvement, a category to encourage improvement, and a category to make focusing improvement. Using the categories, the study then performed the cluster analysis on 33 city bus companies in Busan to determine the differences between the companies. Consequently, the companies were grouped into four; two groups (14 companies) showing more importance on the kindness service while the other two groups (19 companies) showing less. In addition, multivariate an analysis of variance (MANOVA) identified the significant differences of the four categories among the groups of companies, and the findings were taken into consideration on further improvement plans of kindness service in the city buses of Busan.

  • 최근 컴퓨팅 패러다임의 빠른 변화와 함께 차세대 컴퓨팅 기술로 인식되고 있는 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 기술이 사회 각 부분에 적용되고 있다. 국내의 경우, 차세대 초고속 인프라 구축 정책으로 브로드밴드 인프라와 디지털 컨버전스 기술발전에 의한 디바이스, 서비스, 네트워크의 진화로 유 무선 통합 환경에서 다양한 서비스의 통합이 가속화되고 있다. 교육 환경, 특히 대학 캠퍼스에서도 PC, 모바일 등을 이용하여 언제, 어디서나 교육 및 연구를 위한 정보자원에 접근할 수 있는 유 무선통합 캠퍼스인 u-Campus 환경 구축이 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 이 논문에서는 이러한 u-Campus 환경에서 캠퍼스에 방문하는 방문자에게 안드로이드 기반 안내 시스템을 설계한다. 기존 u-Campus 시스템들은 구성원만을 고려한 서비스를 제공하는 반면, 제안 시스템은 방문자를 고려한 서비스 제공을 지원하며, 특히 방문자에게 다양한 상황 정보를 이용하여 목적지까지 안내 해 주는 기능을 제공한다.

  • 본 논문은 소규모 지역에서의 데이터 통신을 이용한 하이브리드 방송 송출 시스템 및 수신 시스템에 관한 것으로 보다 상세하게는 전시회나 박물관 등 지역적 범위가 제한되는 환경에서 와이파이 등의 근거리 인터넷망을 이용하여 해당 범위 내의 사용자만 신규 서비스를 볼 수 있도록 하는 시스템 및 방법에 관한 연구로, 제안된 하아브리드 방송 서비스 송출 시스템은 방송 데이터 수신부, DMB 전송 프레임 멀티플렉서, DMB 전송 프레임 송출부, 부가 정보 송출부로 구성되며, 방송 데이터 수신부는 신규 서비스에 대한 방송 데이터 및 부가 정보를 수신한다. 또한, 송출 시스템의 DMB 전송 프레임 멀티플렉서는 방송 데이터를 이용하여 신규 서비스 앙상블(Ensemble)을 구성하는 DMB 전송프레임을 생성하며, DMB 전송 프레임 송출부는 생성된 DMB 전송 프레임을 송출하고, 부가 정보 송출부는 수신된 신규 서비스의 부가 정보를 인터넷망을 통해 송출한다. 따라서, 제안된 하이브리드 방송 시스템의 경우, 전시회나 박물관 등 지역적 범위가 제한되는 환경에서 와이파이 등의 근거리 인터넷망을 이용하여 해당 범위 내의 사용자만 신규서비스를 볼 수 있으며, 관람객이 아닌 일반 사용자들 본인의 단말기가 채널스캔을 실행했을 경우, 원하지 않는 행사관련 방송 데이터가 수신 채널 목록에 저장되지 않도록 할 수 있다.

The effect of Rural Bus Service Quality Factors on Service Satisfaction and Policy Satisfaction: Focusing on Rural Bus Service in Jeollabuk-do (농어촌버스 서비스품질 요인이 서비스 만족도 및 정책 만족도에 미치는 영향: 전라북도 농어촌버스 서비스를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to propose policies to improve and revitalize rural bus services in Jeollabuk-do in the future by identifying the factors that affect service satisfaction and policy satisfaction and the relationship between them, targeting rural bus users in 4 cities and counties in Jeollabuk-do. In the four cities and counties in the study area, the number of rural bus users is continuously decreasing, and various transportation policies, such as unification of bus fares and demand-response transportation, are being piloted to promote bus use. In this study, three major service quality factors that affect rural bus service satisfaction and policy satisfaction were derived after a literature review. Modifying the research model presented in previous studies, we have presented a research model to verify the relationship between the three factors affecting service satisfaction and policy satisfaction, and the relationship between service satisfaction and policy satisfaction. For the verification of the research model, a total of 520 survey data collected from passengers near bus stops and bus terminals in four cities and counties, Gochang, Gimje, Buan, and Jeongeup, were used. As a result of the verification, it was found that the three factors of economic feasibility, convenience, and safety had a statistically positive (+) effect on service satisfaction, but only convenience and safety had a positive (+) effect on policy satisfaction. Contrary to the research hypothesis, it was found that there was no statistically significant relationship between service satisfaction and policy satisfaction. Although the result is different from the research hypothesis, it was a meaningful result that can make policy suggestions on the improvement of the unified fare system policy, service satisfaction, and policy satisfaction to Jeollabuk-do rural bus transportation policy makers and working-level officers. In conclusion, based on the results of research analysis, the unified fare system, and transportation policy, measures to improve service satisfaction and policy satisfaction were presented.

  • 본 연구의 첫 번째 목적은 Service Quality를 측정하는데 있어서 기대와 성과 측정치를 차감하는 차감식(difference score)에 의한 방법(SERVQUAL), 지각된 성과만으로 개념화/조작화 하는 방법(SERVPERF), 차이를 한 번에 직접 측정하는 방법(non-difference score) 중 어느 방법이 가장 타당한지를 조사하는 것이다. 본 연구의 두 번째 목적은 서비스품질뿐만 아니라 서비스가치 construct가 만족과 구매의도에 대한 선행변수로서 갖는 이론적 가치를 조사하는 것이다. 전국의 특 1급, 특 2급, 1급 호텔 148개의 투숙객을 대상으로 설문조사가 이루어졌다. 연구결과 SERVQUAL이나 SERVPERF에 의한 방법보다는 비차이척도를 이용하는 방법이 보다 높은 설명력을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 만족과 구매의도에 미치는 영향력에 있어서 서비스품질 뿐만 아니라 서비스가치 또한 유의적인 영향력을 갖고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 끝으로 연구결과와 관련하여 추가적인 논의를 하였다.

A Study on Visitor's Behavior as a Characteristics of Different Forest Trails (숲길 특성에 따른 이용객의 이용행태 비교에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to conduct a visitor survey which provides demographical characteristics, a profile of the characteristic, travel behavior in different forest trails; Bukhansan trail, Uljin trail, Jirisan trail. Bukhansan trail (second course) is about 3 km and many visitors are nearby residents for the walking. Uljin trail is 80 km, especially conducting visitor reservation guide system and most visitors are 30s and 50s. Jirisan trail is total 209.3 km (a total of 17 courses), networking regional trail routes and was most popular between the ages of 20 and 39. The results showed that Bukhansan trail was used for light walking course, and visitors preferred health related activities. In Uljin trail, visitors expected trekking with nature-based activities and visitors of Jirisan trail seemed to prefer trekking and request more trail's walkability than other trail users.

  • Incheon International Airport (IIAC) has been named "best airport worldwide" according to the AETRA Passenger survey Program that was jointly administered by Airports Council International (ACI) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in 2005. This paper identifies eight dimensions underlying the overall service qualify in passenger terminals. These eight elements were found from literature reviews through relevant documents. The research explains the linkage between the overall satisfaction with IIAC and five services that influence that satisfaction. The five services are the following: service quality of passenger terminals, commercial facility services, easy access by transportation, service quality of the airlines, and contributions to the community by IIAC. The data envelopment analysis (DEA) designed by Cook and Kress (CK Model) was used to maximize the efficiency of commercial facility services, easy access by transportation, service qualify of the airlines, and contributions to the community by IIAC because the model best provided practical plans for a more competitive airport. This paper has three significant results. First, it includes research of passenger terminal-oriented service quality. Second, the author researches service qualify focusing on a three-cornered relation among passengers, airline employees, and IIAC. Third, the paper contains research of service quality focusing on IIAC's employees.

Smart Parking System Using Ultrasonic Sensor and Bluetooth Communication in Internet of Things (사물인터넷에서 초음파 센서와 블루투스 통신을 이용한 스마트 주차 시스템)

  • IoT (Internet of Things) technologies have largely contributed to our smart living environment. The smart parking system is one of the prominent services that IoT supports. To identify the parked vehicles, the previous parking system use special identifying devices, the RFID tags carried by the users, and the high quality camera to recognize the vehicle license numbers. However, the previous methods cause cost inefficiency and unfriendly usages. To address these problems, we propose a smart parking system based on ultrasonic sensors and Bluetooth communication. The proposed system decides the available slots by using the sensor motes located in the parking spaces. Also it recognizes the location of the parked vehicle using Bluetooth RSSI between a Smartphone and the sensor motes. In addition, based on these converging technologies, it can support the parked routes of vehicles for users. To evaluate the implemented smart parking system, we applied the RSSI transform equations and the recognition rate for parked vehicles. As a result, the accurate rate of transformed distances could be measured.

Forecasting of Foreign Tourism demand in Kyeongju (경주지역 외국인 관광수요 예측)

  • The study used a seasonal ARIMA model to forecast the number of tourists to Kyeongju foreign in a uni-variable time series. Time series monthly data for the investigation were collected ranging from 1995 to 2010. A total of 192 observations were used for data analysis. The date showed that a big difference existed between on-season and off-season of the number of foreign tourists in Kyeongju. In the forecast multiplicative seasonal ARIMA(1,1,0) $(4,0,0)_{12}$ model was found the most appropriate model. Results show that the number of tourists was 694 thousands in 2011, 715 thousands in 2012, 725 thousands in 2013, 738 thousands in 2014, and 884 thousands in 2015. It was suggested that the grasping of the Kyeongju forecast model was very important in respect of how experts in tourism development, policy makers or planners would establish marketing strategies to allocate services in Kyeongju as a tourist destination and provide tourism facilities efficiently.
