Study on the clinical application of the remedy of the synchronus combination of cupping boil and moxibustion (BUDDEUMI) (부항과 쑥뜸의 겸용치료기(부뜸이)의 임상 활용 방안에 대한 기초 연구)

  • Objectives In order to extend the bounds of korean medical instruments, we studied on the clinical application of BUDDEUM (the remedy of the synchronus combination of cupping boil and moxibustion) by the industry-academic cooperation. Methods The korean clinic, enterprise and university participated in jointly an educational-industrial complex. We studied on the clinical application of BUDDEUMI according to the structural character, functional efficiency and clinical case. And therefore we confirmed clinically the application of BUDDEUMI. Results The results was as follows. 1. The effects of BUDDEUMI are observed on the detoxification of blood waste material, & the form and appearance of effete matter are various. 2. The BUDDEUMI massage treatment operated in the abdominal and the back in order to recover energy and increase immunity. 3. The heating treatment by BUDDEUMI operated in sickly region, in order to pour into heat of moxibustion. Conclusion According to the results, by the set up the exclusive therapy room and the arrange of the exclusive human agency of BUDDEUMI, the newly and various therapies of korean medicine are possible to develop.

Evaluation of Contribution Rate of PM Concentrations for Regional Emission Inventories in Korean Peninsula Using Brute-force Sensitivity Analysis (Brute-force 방법을 이용한 한반도 미세먼지 농도에 대한 배출원의 기여도 산출 연구)

  • In order to clarify the contribution rate of PM concentration due to regional emission distribution, Brute force analysis were carried out using numerical estimated PM data from WRF-CMAQ. The emission from Kyeongki region including Seoul metropolitan is the largest contribution of PM concentration than that from other regions except for emission of trans-country and source itself. Contribution rate of self emission is also the largest at Kyeongki region and its rate reach on over 95 %. And the rate at Gangwon region also higher than any region due to synoptic wind pattern. Due to synoptic wind direction at high PM episode, pollutants at downwind area along from west to east and from north to south tends to mix intensively and its composition is also complicated. Although the uncertainty of initial concentration of PM, the contribution of regional PM concentration tend to depend on the meteorological condition including intensity of synoptic and mesoscale wind and PM emission pattern over upwind region.

Studies on the hematological and blood chemical findings for dry and lactating periods (건유(乾乳)와 필유(泌乳)에 따른 유우(乳牛)의 혈액(血液) 및 혈액화학상(血液化學像)의 변화에 관한 연구)

  • This experiment was carried out to investigate the hematological and blood chemical values in dairy cattle during the dry and lactating period. Blood was collected from six healthy dairy cattle in Gyeongnam province. Leucocytes count, hemoglobin concentrations and the percentage of packed cell volume were lowest at the early lactation period. Leucocytes count was not affected during dry the to lactating period. The differential count of eosinophilic leucocytes was low at the late lactation period, while the basophilic leucocytes was high at the dry period. Inorganic phosphorus value was below under normal level. Creatinine value was from 1 to 2mg/100ml of serum. Positive reaction to CRP was shown in normal dairy cattle. The values of AST and ALT were higher during the dry than lactating period. r-GTP and total cholesterol tend to be decreased during the lactating period. CPK value was not affected for dry and lactating period.

  • Due to the rapid proliferation of the web in recent years, many educators seek to improve the effectiveness of their instruction by providing innovative web-based course material to their students. Lots of web-based education contents are developed especially. They help to teach and train students. They expand widely due to repetition learning any time, any where. In this paper we implemented usage of C functions, quizes for checking comprehension of statements in C programming lecture and developed scenario helping concepts, algorithm comprehension. We made them web-based visual representation. They were implemented as FLASH animations or Java applets. They were well received by students.

Genetic Diversity of the Mud Crab Scylla serrata in Micronesia based on Microsatellite Marker Analysis (마이크로세틀라이트 마커 분석을 이용한 남서태평양 일대에 서식하는 남방톱날꽃게(Scylla serrata)의 유전적 다양성)

  • Analysis of four microsatellite markers from Mud Crab Scylla serrata revealed that there is high level of genetic diversity within this species. Genetic diversity of S. serrata was calculated using allele diversity, observed heterozygosity, expected heterozygosity (Het-exp), polymorphic information content, gene differentiation and Nei's $D_{A}$ distance. Mean polymorphic information content value was 0.797, which reflected high level of polymorphism across the loci of S. serrata. The Palau population has the highest genetic diversity (Het-exp=0.871), while the Kosrae population has the lowest genetic diversity (Hetexp=0.806). However, the geographical genetic distance among S. serrata populations from Yab, Chuuk, Pohnpei, Kosrae, and Palau were low (0.2009${\sim}$0.3350). These results suggest that despite their wide distribution, S. serrata are no different in geographical genetic diversity within the five sampled locations.

  • Uniaxial square Helmholtz coils for testing SQUID sensors were designed and their field distributions were calculated. Optimum parameters for maximizing the uniform region in the Helmholtz mode were obtained for different uniformity tolerances. The coil system consists of 2 pairs of identical square loops, a Helmholtz pair for generating uniform fields and the other for the 2nd-order gradient fields in combination with the Helmholtz pair. Full expressions of the axial component of the field were calculated by using Biot-Savart's law. To understand the behavior of the field near the coil center, analytical expressions were obtained up to the 4th-order in the midplane and along the coil axis. The Helmholtz condition for generating uniform fields was calculated to be $d/{\alpha}=0.544505643$, where 2d is the inter-coil distance and $2{\alpha}$ is the side length of the coil square. Maximized uniform range can be obtained for a given nonuniformity tolerance by choosing $d/{\alpha}$ slightly lower than the Helmholtz condition. The pure second-order gradient field can be generated by subtracting the Helmholtz field from the field of the 2nd pair with equal magnitudes of the center fields of the two pairs. The coil system is useful for testing balance and sensitivity of SQUID gradiometers.

A survey on the actual management and the prevalence of internal parasite in the Korean indigenous goats of southern Kyoungnam area (경남 남부지방의 흑염소 사양관리 및 내부기생충 감염실태 조사)

  • Research results on actual management situation of 16 goat farms and internal parasite infection of 155 goats from January to November in 1997 in southern Kyoungnam area were as follows ; 1. An average number of goats was 93. Among them, 81% were farming the goat as avocation with the income rate less then 50%, Eight-four percent of farms terminated the parasites more than twice a year, and the survey showed the black goats had a high digestive and respiratory disease infection rate. 2. The internal parasite infection rate of the black goat was 96.8% , the goats were infected with 13 types of parasites. Of them, Emeria sp was 87.1%, Ostertagia sp 55.5%, Paraphistanum sp 45.8%, and Moniezia expansa 20%, respectively. 3. On the survey of multiple infection rate, both double and triple infection were 19.4%, more than septuple-infection 15,5%, single infection 13.4%, quintuple infection 12.3 n, sextuple infection 9.0% and quadruple infection 7.7%, respectively. 4. Look over on seasonal infection rate, higher in fall and lower in winter. Especially, Paramishitom sp was higher in summer and winter, both Moniezia expansan and Bonaostom sp were higher in summer. 5. Research on the infection rate of parasites termination period revealed less-than-1-month period had 10-30 infection rate, the infection rate has increased sharply since 3 months passed after the goats were treated with parasite-cid.

  • 도금은 크게 전해 도금과 무전해 도금으로 나눌 수 있다. 전기적 에너지를 사용하여 이온 상태의 금속을 환원시켜 석출함으로써 도금을 진행하는 전해 도금과는 달리 무전해 도금은 도금액 내의 환원제에 의해 금속 이온을 환원시켜 도금을 진행한다. 무전해 도금법은 전해 도금에 비해 전류 인가 장비가 필요하지 않아 도금 공정이 간단하고, 피도금체에 따른 인가 전류, 전압, 금속의 환원 전위 등을 계산하지 않아도 되기 때문에 전문적인 지식이 없어도 도금을 할 수 있다. 하지만 무전해 도금은 도금이 진행 될수록 도금액 내 금속 이온, 환원제의 농도 등이 수시로 변화하기 때문에 도금액의 조성을 파악하여 원하는 두께의 도금층을 형성하는 방법에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 무전해 도금액 내 환원제, 도금액 온도, 도금 시간을 변경하여 Ni 무전해 도금을 형성 하였고 그 특성을 평가하였다. 도금은 각각 플라스틱, RF module 유리 등 다양한 기판에 진행 하였으며, 도금 후 밀착성, 도금 두께 및 microstructure를 분석하였다. 도금 후 밀착성을 분석하기 위해 열처리 후 박리정도를 테스트를 하였고, 도금 두께 및 microstructure를 분석하기 위해 field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM), energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS)를 사용하였다. 실험 결과, 두께 $3{\sim}5{\mu}m$ 급의 균일한 도금층이 형성된 것을 확인하였으며, $260^{\circ}C$에서 3회 열처리 후 박리성 평가 결과, 결함 없는 양호한 표면을 나타내었다.

  • 'Colored hearing' occurs to those who caused confusion in the visual, auditory path to brain because pruning had not normally done in the growth phase. It is called as 'colored hearing'. 'Colored hearing' is a phenomenon which some people can see colors when they hear sounds. In the interview of video, art experts say that the phenomenon is a natural talents, however professionals in the medical field say that the disorder may be causing a major disruption to daily life. Usually people are unknowingly suffering from synesthesia phenomenon. In this paper, based on the video, we show the phenomenon of 'colored hearing' based on the results of scientific research and on the daily life, and also analyze the video from the viewpoint of the editors and the audience.

  • This paper addresses the design and implementation of class distribution in distributed object-oriented databases. The proposed strategy of distribution consists of two-step design of fragments. One is class fragmentation and the other is allocation of fragments. In step of class fragmentation, we have defined partitioning algorithms to reflect the characteristics of object-oriented databases such as method, inheritance and composite-object. In step of allocation, we have defined the objective function for allocation considering system operating cost including storage, query processing and communication and implemented it using Genetic Algorithm.
