중재적 시술을 위한 자기공명영상(MRI)용 주자석은 수직 자계를 가지는 경우가 대부분인데 본 논문에서는 수직 자계를 발생하는 주자석에 장착할 수 있는 볼록형 경사자계코일을 소개하였다. 중재적 시술에 필요한 고속 촬영을 하기 위해서는 강한 경사자계 및 낮은 코일 인덕턱스가 필요한데 본 논문에서는 이를 효율적으로 실현하기 위해 경사자계코일을 볼록 곡면 위에 실현하였다. 기존 방법에서처럼 평면 위에 경사자계코일을 실현하지 않고 볼록 곡면 위에 실현함으로써 경사자계코일의 자계 강도 특성 및 코일 인덕턱스 특성을 향상시킬 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 중재적 시술을 위한 경사자계코일 내 공간을 충분히 확보할 수 있다. Prolate spheroid 좌표계에서 표현되는 경사자계코일 면을 정의하였고, 유한요소법을 이용한 볼록형 경사자계코일 설계 방법을 기술하였다. 또한 경사자계코일 면의 곡률에 따라 경사자계코일의 성능이 어떻게 변화하는지에 대한 결과를 제시하였다.

We investigated whether three flavonoids including daidzein, baicalein, hesperidin and ursolic acid, a triterpene acid, affect proliferation of MCF-7 human breast cancer cells stimulated by estrogenic compounds. Ursolic acid and baicalein inhibited proliferation of MCF-7 cells induced by PhIP, a food-derived carcinogen with estrogenic activity. Daidzein and hesperidin inhibited estradiol-induced proliferation of MCF-7 cells. These compounds should be further investigated for the possible involvement in signaling pathway after estrogen receptor binding in breast cancer cells.

Because of the ready availability of aspirin, salicylate poisoning remains a common problem in many countries. Another potential source of salicylate poisoning is medicated oil containing methyl salicylate (oil of wintergreen). Methyl salicylate poses a much greater safety threat than aspirin tablets because of its liquid, concentrated form and high lipid solubility. Because of this danger, the toxic potential of medicated oil containing methyl salicylate should be fully appreciated both by physicians and by the general public. We encountered two cases of salicylate poisoning resulting from accidental ingestion of Chinese medicated oil. We report these cases along with a review of the literature.

An implementation scheme of the magnetic nerve stimulator using a switching mode power supply is proposed. By using a switching mode power supply rather than a conventional linear power supply for charging high voltage capacitors, the weight and size of the magnetic nerve stimulator can be considerably reduced. Experimental results of human nerve stimulations using developed stimulator are presented.

With proper designs of infrared optic system and two dimensional scanning mechanism, a medical infrared imaging system has been developed. The infrared imaging system can be used for two dimensional imaging of surface temperature of human body by measuring the amount of infrared lights radiating from it. It hag been experimentally proven that the degree of temperature measurement accuracy of the developed system is under $0.1^{\circ}C$ with spatial resolution of 1 mrad, image matrix size of $256{\times}240$, and imaging time of 4 seconds.

3D ultrasound bladder scanners are getting popular in hospitals for the patients with bladder dysfunction. A current bladder scanner adopts a mechanical scan to acquire 3D images and requires two motors and complicated mechanical devices. In this paper, we propose a new ultrasound bladder scanner using hand-motion scan. Instead of two motors and mechanical devices, it has a motion sensor to record transducer positions during hand-motion scan. The experiments with a bladder phantom and volunteers showed similar measurement accuracy to a conventional 3D ultrasound bladder scanner. We expect that the proposed method will reduce the cost and size of the bladder scanner.

This study analyzed operation characteristics of air-condition piping is made by quick disconnect coupling. Air-conditioning consists of central compressor 3HP capacity and R22 refrigerant. We experimented with two operation cycles of air-condition under the same environment; one is with quick disconnect coupling. The other is without quick disconnect coupling. As a result, we can observe whether the condensation temperature of former increased by about 3-5. Furthermore, COP decreased by about 10%.

최근 차세대 이동통신서비스로 부각되고 있는 위치기반서비스 응용의 핵심기술로 지리정보서비스에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있으며, 처리능력, 저장공간, 디스플레이, 데이터통신 환경에서 제한적인 환경을 가진 이동 컴퓨팅 환경에서 지리정보를 효율적으로 처리하기 위한 지리정보서비스 모델에 관한 연구 및 개발이 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 이동 컴퓨팅 환경에서의 효율적인 지리정보 서비스를 위하여 방대한 용량의 지리정보를 경량화한 지리정보 데이터 모델과 지리정보와 웹이나 웹 서비스와의 연결을 이용한 지리정보서비스 모델을 제안한다.

Though the planar gradient coils, designed by the magnetic energy minimization procedure, have smaller inductance than conventional gradient coils, the planar gradient oils often suffer from their poor magnetic field linearity. Scaling the spatial frequencies of the current density function designed by the magnetic energy minimization procedure, magnetic field linearity of the planar gradient coils can be featly improved with small sacrifice of gradient coil inductance.

자기공명영상시스템의 경사자계코일을 영구자석의 자극에 부착할 경우 경사자계의 분포가 변하고 코일의 인덕턴스가 증가하는 현상이 생긴다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 자극효과를 고려하여 평면형 경사자계코일을 설계하는 방법을 제시하였다. 제사한 방법에는 자극 효과를 거울 전류로 모델링하였고, 모델링한 거울 전류를 고려하여 경사자계코일의 인덕턴스를 최소화하는 방법을 구했다. 또한 실제 상황과 가장 흡사한 자계 분포를 만들어주는 거울 전류의 크기를 구하기 위해 유한요소법을 적용하였다. 제시한 방법으로는 설계된 경사자계코일은 종래의 설계된 경사자계 코일에 비해 우수한 성능을 보였다.
