Laboratory Experiments for sediment deposit around sandy revetment (호안주변에 유입되는 유사 거동 분석을 위한 실험연구)

  • 거주지나 공장부지와 같은 이용 가능한 토지를 만들기 위하여 해안 지역을 매립하는 토목공사가 전세계 곳곳에서 이루어지고 있다. 매립공사에서 매립토량의 결정은 경제성 부분에서 매우 중요하나 국내는 어항 항만 설계기준(2014)에 의하여 단순히 입경별로 유실율과 유보율을 산정하여결정하고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 원형의 매립호안 주변의 유사 거동을 분석하기 위하여 수리실험을 통한 연구를 진행하였다. 수리실험은 길이 13.0 m, 폭 5.0 m, 수위 0.10 m의 직사각형 단면의 개수로에서 수행되었으며, 실험에 사용된 유사는 주문진사($d_{50}=1.0mm$)와 안트사이트($d_{50}=0.44mm$)를 사용하였다. 원형 호안은 방수처리가 되어있는 목재로 제작하였고 두 가지 유사 모두 매립지역에서 형성되는 모래의 형상은 차이를 보였고 일정량의 유사가 호안 하류측에 쌓이는 것으로 나타났다. 선행 연구와 달리 호안에서 형성되는 모래의 이송된 형상을 관측하였다. 향후 모래 유입 위치를 달리하여 퇴적된 모래의 형성을 정량적으로 관측이 가능하다면 매립공사의 경제성을 높일 수 있을 것이라 기대된다.

  • 자연 하천은 연속적인 곡선 흐름을 가지고 있으며, 하천의 흐름을 해석하는 것은 복잡하고 어려운 일이다. 게다가 자연하천에서는 유사이송에 의해 하상변동이 발생하며 이를 정확하게 예측하는 것은 공학적 문제 해결에 중요한 역할을 한다. 곡선 흐름에서의 하상변동양상은 원심력에 의한 이차류로 인하여 유사가 하천의 내측으로 이동하게 되고, 하천의 외측에는 침식, 내측에는 퇴적이 된다. 이와 같은 현상은 원심력뿐만이 아니라 하천의 곡선에 의해 발생하게 되는 박리 또한 중요한 원인으로 이야기 되고 있으며, 선행 연구자들에 의해서 박리의 영향이 작지 않음을 알 수 있다. 자연하천에서의 정확한 하상변동을 예측하기 위해서는 원심력에 의한 이차류와 박리의 현상을 정확히 모의할 수 있어야하며, 이를 위해 3차원 모형이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 3차원 unsteady RANS 모형을 이용하여 곡선수로에서 박리가 발생하는 현상을 모의하고자 한다. 곡선수로를 모의하기 위해서 곡선좌표계를 사용하였으며, 난류모형으로는 standard $k-{\varepsilon}$$k-{\omega}$ SST을 사용하였다. 또한 fractional step method를 이용하여 유속과 압력 커플링을 하였다. 그 결과 곡선수로의 흐름모의에서 레이놀즈 수가 큰 경우 박리가 발생하는 것을 확인하였으며, 두 난류모형 모두 곡선 흐름에서의 박리 현상을 모의할 수 있었다.

Improvement of Grommet Work Safety by Comparision of Domestic and Foreign Guidelines (국내외 지침 비교를 통한 Grommet 작업 안전성 향상 방안 연구)

  • The number of deaths caused by power crane accidents continues to decline. Nevertheless, more than 50 people die each year due to these accidents. Various types of slings, such as wire rope sling, chain sling, belt sling, and grommet, are used in industries, depending on the characteristics of the work involved. To reduce the number of accidents involving these slings, the formulation of technical measures and education of workers are necessary. This study compares and analyzes local and international guidelines as well as those found in manufacturer manuals in relation to grommets, which are widely used in shipyards and construction sites. Moreover, measures for improving the safety of work using grommet are reviewed. This paper further proposes the revision of the technical guidelines of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency such that the information directly affecting the safety of work involving grommets is included. By clarifying the guidelines that manufacturers provide in their manuals, accident prevention through worker awareness is anticipated in the future.

  • 도시침수는 사회 기반시설에 파괴적인 영향을 끼치고, 재산 및 인명 피해의 원인이 되므로, 고해상도 고정확도 예측 정보를 활용한 선제적 대응이 중요하다. 하지만, 기후변화로 인한 강수 강도의 증가, 도시의 확장 및 고밀화 등 토지피복 변화, 홍수방어시설의 노후화 등 여러 요인들의 복합적인 영향으로 인해 도시침수의 정확한 재현 및 예측은 여전히 난제로 남아 있다. 천수 방정식(Shallow Water Equations)을 기반으로 하는 물리과정 모형은 신뢰도 높은 예측 결과를 제공할 수 있지만, Courant-Friedrichs-Lewy 조건 등의 제약으로 인해 대규모 도시 지역의 고해상도 실시간 예측에는 적합하지 않은 한계가 있다. 본 연구에서는 상대적으로 간단한 연산 규칙의 중첩을 통해 복잡계 물리 시스템을 모의하는 셀룰러 오토마타(Cellular Automata; CA) 기술에 기반한 도시침수 해석 모형인 CA-Urban을 개발하고, 미국 Oregon 주 북서쪽에 위치한 Portland시의 도심지역에 대해 침수해석의 적용성을 평가한다. 세부적으로는, 기존 셀룰러 오토마타 기반 침수해석알고리즘의 수치 진동(Oscillation) 문제에 대한 원인을 분석하고, 안정성 향상 방법인 셀 간 최대유량 제한, 가중치 적용 기법, 모형의 계산 효율성 향상을 위한 최적 적응 시간 단계 기법(Adaptive time step)의 적용 결과를 소개한다. 또한, 침투 및 증발산 등 물순환 요소 해석 모듈의 개발 성과 및 방향에 대해서 토의한다.

A Study on the Safety Improvement of Lifting Purpose Chain Sling (인양용 체인슬링의 안전성 향상 방안 고찰)

  • Various lifting slings are used in domestic industrial sites depending on the purpose, form, and environment. Each sling has its characteristics, and safe lifting work is possible when its performance meets the regulations. Therefore, this study analyzed domestic and foreign regulations and guidelines related to chain slings. It identified significant problems by analyzing the chain-sling-related disaster cases. The current status of chain slings used by various industries and the ways to improve chain sling safety were studied. The major chain sling issues were: 1) employing improper components to chains, 2) having different safety coefficients between the regulation and industrial standards, and 3) using chains unsuitable for lifting purposes. Based on these issues, the following measures were proposed to improve chain sling work safety: 1) revise the safety coefficient requirements under the Regulations on Occupational Safety and Health Standards, 2) disseminate specialized sling courses, and 3) strengthen on-site chain slings-related training. In the future, this study is expected to minimize chain use mistakes by unifying the safety coefficient related to chain slings and recognizing the importance of correctly selecting components employed in the chain.

  • 장신구 산업은 인건비의 비중이 높고 노동자의 역량에 따라 제품의 제작 작업 시간 및 품질의 편차가 심하다. 이에 산업계의 수요에 맞추어 실리콘 금형 표면 지름 0.75mm 홀에 이어핀을 삽입하는 공정을 자동화하기 위하여 삽입 자동화 시스템이 개발되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이어핀 삽입 자동화시스템에서 적용할 수 있는 템플릿 매칭 방법과 관심 영역 레이블링을 통한 홀 판별 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법의 안정성을 확보하기 위하여 실험을 통해 최적의 매칭 방법과 이진화 기법을 적용하였으며 이어핀 홀의 좌표를 확보하여 X-Y 정밀 이송 시스템에 적용할 수 있다.

Relationship between Compressive Strength and Dynamic Modulus of Elasticity in the Cement Based Solid Product for Consolidating Disposal of Medium-Low Level Radioactive Waste (중·저준위 방사성 폐기물 처리용 시멘트 고화체의 압축강도와 동탄성계수의 관계)

  • Recently, the medium-low level radioactive waste from nuclear power plant must be transported from temporary storage to the final repository. Medium-low level radioactive waste, which is composed mainly of the liquid ion exchange resin, has been consolidated with cementitious material in the plastic or iron container. Since cementitious material is brittle, it would generate cracks by impact load during transportation, signifying leakage of radioactive ray. In order to design the safety transporting equipment, there is a need to check the compressive strength of the current waste. However, because it is impossible to measure strength by direct method due to leakage of radioactive ray, we will estimate the strength indirectly by the dynamic modulus of elasticity. Therefore, it must be identified the relationship between of strength and dynamic modulus of elasticity. According to the waste acceptance criteria, the compressive strength of cement based solid is defined as more than 3.44 MPa (500 psi). Compressive strength of the present solid is likely to be significantly higher than this baseline because of continuous hydration of cement during long period. On this background, we have tried to produce the specimens of the 28 day's compressive strength of 3 to 30 MPa having the same material composition as the solid product for the medium-low level radioactive waste, and analyze the relationship between the strength and the dynamic modulus of elasticity. By controling the addition rates of AE agent, we made the mixture containing the ion exchange resin and showing the target compressive strength (3~30 MPa). The dynamic modulus of elasticity of this mixtures is 4.1~10.2 GPa, about 20 GPa lower in the equivalent compressive strength level than that of ordinary concrete, and increasing the discrepancy according to increase strength. The compressive strength and the dynamic modulus of elasticity show the liner relationship.

Preliminary Study on the Development of a Platform for the Optimization of Beach Stabilization Measures Against Beach Erosion III - Centering on the Effects of Random Waves Occurring During the Unit Observation Period, and Infra-Gravity Waves of Bound Mode, and Boundary Layer Streaming on the Sediment Transport (해역별 최적 해빈 안정화 공법 선정 Platform 개발을 위한 기초연구 III - 단위 관측 기간에 발생하는 불규칙 파랑과 구속모드의 외중력파, 경계층 Streaming이 횡단표사에 미치는 영향을 중심으로)

  • In this study, we develop a new cross-shore sediment module which takes the effect of infra-gravity waves of bound mode, and boundary layer streaming on the sediment transport into account besides the well-known asymmetry and under-tow. In doing so, the effect of individual random waves occurring during the unit observation period of 1 hr on sediment transport is also fully taken into account. To demonstrate how the individual random waves would affect the sediment transport, we numerically simulate the non-linear shoaling process of random wavers over the beach of uniform slope. Numerical results show that with the consistent frequency Boussinesq Eq. the application of which is lately extended to surf zone, we could simulate the saw-tooth profile observed without exception over the surf zone, infra-gravity waves of bound mode, and boundary-layer streaming accurately enough. It is also shown that when yearly highest random waves are modeled by the equivalent nonlinear uniform waves, the maximum cross-shore transport rate well exceeds the one where the randomness is fully taken into account as much as three times. Besides, in order to optimize the free parameter K involved in the long-shore sediment module, we carry out the numerical simulation to trace the yearly shoreline change of Mang-Bang beach from 2017.4.26 to 2018.4.20 as well, and proceeds to optimize the K by comparing the traced shoreline change with the measured one. Numerical results show that the optimized K for Mang-Bang beach would be 0.17. With K = 0.17, via yearly grand circulation process comprising severe erosion by consecutively occurring yearly highest waves at the end of October, and gradual recovery over the winter and spring by swell, the advance of shore-line at the northern and southern ends of Mang-Bang beach by 18 m, and the retreat of shore-line by 2.4 m at the middle of Mang-Bang beach can be successfully duplicated in the numerical simulation.

Optimum Selection of BWMS type by AHP for BWMS Development (선박평형수 처리장치 개발시 AHP 기법을 이용한 최적 처리방식 선정에 관한 연구)

  • Ballast water in ship operation is essential for a safe voyage. However ballast water can contain unwanted organisms that are the cause of disturbing the ecosystem by the transfer of potential invasive species. To prevent the destruction of the environment, the International Convention for the Control and Management of Ship's Ballast Water and Sediments(BWM Convention) was adopted in 2004. BWMS (Ballast Water Management System) has been developed to prevent the transportation of organisms to another region in order to fulfill the requirements IMO (International Maritime Organization) regulations. Nowadays there are about 50 approved Ballast Water Management Systems of various types globally. The most common BWMS types are UV (Ultra Violet), Electrolysis and Ozone. Among these types there are many difficulties in determining the optimum type of BWMS which can be suitable for the user and designer's requirements. The main objective of this research is to select the best BWMS type by using AHP. To apply AHP, the most important criteria for the BWMS development are derived by users and designers. From our results, we can give a guide BWMS type to the developers of BWMS.

A Study on Modelling and Tracking Control System Design of RTGC(Rubber-Tired Gantry Crane) (RTGC의 모델링 및 주행제어기 설계에 관한 연구)

  • To handle container effectively is one of the most important factors in a port because working time is linked soon into cost. Since the middle of 1990s, RMGC(Rail-Mounted Gantry Crane) and RTGC(Rubber-Tired Gantry Crane) have been developed and widely used to operate containers in the yard. The RTGC is more difficult than RMGC in the automatic control system design. Although, the RTGC is largely advantaged to free driving environment, it has some considerable disadvantages in the system operating. In general, the problems are due to tire slip and lack of tire pressure etc. Therefore, a desirable research result has not been shown in this time. So, in this paper, we propose a new approach to design tracking control system for the RTGC in which the mathematical modeling is included. From the simulation results, the control performance of the designed control systems is evaluated.
