  • The purpose of this research was to determine whether multimodal cues in an online shopping environment could enhance tactile consumer mental imagery, purchase intentions, and attitudes towards an apparel product. One limitation of online retail is that consumers are unable to physically touch the items. However, as tactile information plays an important role in consumer decisions especially for apparel products, this study investigated the effects of multimodal cues on overcoming the lack of tactile stimuli. In experiment 1, to explore the product, the participants were randomly assigned to four conditions; picture only, video without sound, video with corresponding sound, and video with discordant sound; after which tactile mental imagery vividness, ease of imagination, attitude, and purchase intentions were measured. It was found that the video with discordant sound had the lowest average scores of all dependent variables. A within-participants design was used in experiment 2, in which all participants explored the same product in the four conditions in a random order. They were told that they were visiting four different brands on a price comparison web site. After the same variables as in experiment 1, including the need for touch, were measured, the repeated measures ANCOVA results revealed that compared to the other conditions, the video with the corresponding sound significantly enhanced tactile mental imagery vividness, attitude, and purchase intentions. However, the discordant condition had significantly lower attitudes and purchase intentions. The dual mediation analysis also revealed that the multimodal cue conditions significantly predicted attitudes and purchase intentions by sequentially mediating the imagery vividness and ease of imagination. In sum, vivid tactile mental imagery triggered using audio-visual stimuli could have a positive effect on consumer decision making by making it easier to imagine a situation where consumers could touch and use the product.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of nursing students' abilities of communication and self-reflection on their attitudes toward mental illness. Data were collected from September to October in 2020. In total, 180 questionnaires were collected, and 170 questionnaires among them were used for analysis, excluding 10 with poor responses. As a result, nursing students' communication ability, self-reflection, and attitude toward mental illness showed a significant positive correlation. Nursing students' communication ability and self-reflection were major factors influencing their attitudes toward mental illness, which explained 49% of the total variance. Continuous education to improve students' communication ability and self-reflection level within the nursing department's curriculum will be needed to pursue nursing students' positive attitude toward mental illness. Also, additional education program to improve students' attitudes toward mental illness will be required.

  • Based on the relationship between parental attitudes, human rights awareness, and self-esteem, this study examines the effects of parental attitudes that respect children's decision-making on human rights consciousness, targeting elementary school students (grades 4-6). The purpose of this study is to investigate whether the relationship between parental attitudes and human rights awareness is mediated. As a result of this study, it was found that there is a positive correlation in the relationship between parental attitude, human rights awareness, and self-esteem respecting children's decision-making. In addition, it was found that self-esteem mediates the relationship between parental attitude and human rights awareness that respects children's decision-making. Therefore, in this study, the relationship between parenting attitudes and human rights consciousness, which respects children's decision-making, is to be examined in detail through self-esteem. Through this, the role of parents who respect children's decision-making and participation is necessary for the basic rights of children, and it suggests the importance of the mediating role of self-esteem in raising human rights awareness.

  • This research has found logical data directly influencing forming consideration set and attitude and attitude strength under the choosing situation based on memory-base proposed by Priester et. al (2004). We've examined the possibility of model extension through physical salient strength according to the location of product display as an external stimulate factor and attitude and attitude strength, consideration set and role on variable choice. Especially, this research practically proposed the method measuring directly the attitude on behavior instead of seeing the intension of behavior or behavior by measuring the behavior itself based on existing experiment methods and applied logistics regression analysis. In conclusion, this research confirmed the possibility of generalization of this model by verifying appropriateness through logical background and actual analysis based on stimulus-base proposed model characters as an integrated model relation between attitude in stimulus-based relation and decision-making.

  • This study analyzed the differences of the sex-role attitude, communication, and marital satisfaction according to a demographic factors as well as analyzed the relationship of the effects on sex-role attitude(sex-role awareness, sex-capacity awareness), communication(close relationship, exclusive relationship, passive relationship), and marital satisfaction of elderly couples. The survey was conducted from June 20 to July 30, 2012 among the elderly couples aged 60 or older in the Gyeonggi-do areas, and 378 responses were used in the data analysis. The statistical analysis methods were frequency analysis, reliability analysis, t-test, ANOVA, and hierarchical regression analysis. As a results, there were partially differences in the sex-role attitude, communication, and marital satisfaction. The sex-role awareness and sex-capacity awareness had a positive impact on close relationship and passive relationship of the communication. But the sex-capacity awareness had a negative impact on exclusive relationship of the communication. In addition, The sex-role awareness and close relationship had a positive impact on marital satisfaction, but exclusive relationship and passive relationship had a negative impact on marital satisfaction of elderly couples.

  • For successful EHR implementation, it is important to understand physicians's acceptance and attitude for EHR. This study aims to provide basic information for the overseas expansion of Korean EHR by studying Saudi Arabia's physicians' acceptance for the Korean EHR exported to Saudi Arabia. Except for physician autonomy and physician-patient relationship, Likert scales of physician involvement, adequate training, ease of use, usefulness, and attitude about EHR usage were over 3.5 points, which are relatively high. The Physicians' experience of Korean EHR may have influenced the EHR acceptance score. Based on the positive research results of this study, we can say that Korean EHR can be competitive in the overseas EHR business.

  • This study was to investigate the effects of mathematical history-based mathematics teaching on mathematical communication and attitudes of elementary students, through selecting mathematical history content to apply to elementary mathematics and devising an instruction model to use effectively. For this purpose, while the experimental group received instruction using mathematical history and the comparative group lecture-based instruction using the common textbook, both quantitative and qualitative methods were employed to analyze gathered data. To conclusion, first, instructions using mathematical history were helpful for increasing the student's participation in communication, and secondly helped the students justify their opinions to others with mathematical logic.

  • The purpose of the study was to examine nonpsychiatric physicians' attitudes toward psychiatry. 129 physicians responded to the questionnaire regarding attitudes toward psychiatry. A majority were favorable about psychiatric education, psychiatric consultation, psychoanalysis, students' choice of psychiatry as a career, and psychiatrists. Staff were more positive toward psychiatry than residents, and senior staff were more positive about psychiatry than junior staff. Overall, however, no significant differences were found in attitudes toward psychiatry between nonsurgical physicians and surgeons, although staff or residents in nonsurgical departments were more favorable about some aspects of psychiatry than staff or residents in surgical departments. The physicians with more interest in psychiatry as a career in the past were more likely to to be positive about psychiatry as a comprehensive science and a rapidly expanding field of medicine. Physicians with older age were more likely to be positive about status and efficacy of psychiatry, role and functioning of psychiatrists than those with. younger age. The results suggest that previous interest in psychiatry, age and clinical experience favorably influenced physicians' attitude toward psychiatry. In addition, development of models for psychiatric education will be needed to enhance physicians' attitude toward psychiatry.
