The more the population grow, the severer the shortage of a basic human needs such as clean water, food, energy resources and so on. Recently, we aware that deep sea water can be utilized to solve comprehensively food, energy and water problems. In this study, inhibitory effect of the deep sea water of east coast (DSW) on platelet aggregation were investigated using washed platelet and beneficial effect of the change of lipid concentration on serum at various time intervals for three weeks. In this study six groups of 6-month-old Sparague-Dawley rats were examined. An intact group served as controls (C-1D : breeding for one day, C-1W : breeding for one week, C-3W : breeding for three week). The fourth group (1D-DSW) supplemented with DSW for one day. The fifth group (1W-DSW)supplemented with DSW for a week. The sixth group (3W-DSW)supplemented with DSW for three weeks. The total cholesterol and triglyceride concentration on serum of supplemented groups with the DSW for one or three weeks were significantly decreased. The serum HDL-cholesterol level in the DSW groups were significantly higher than the level in the control group. The supplementation of DSW for one day did not appear to have such a beneficial effect on lipid level. The ability of platelet aggregation of supplemented groups with DSW was less than control group. These results suggest that supplementation with DSW is positively influence on lipid concentration and platelet aggregation.
Treatment of O/W Emulsion is very important to develop 15ppm Bilge Separator for new IMO regulation It is too difficult to demulsify the emulsion in the bilge waste water, so we use chemical treatment to break emulsion stability. Broken oil particle is treated by flotation 15ppm Bilge Separator on the Ship doesn't have enough time to treat Bilge waste water because of limited space in the ship. For the solution to this problem, we experiment to find primary factors as coagulant, pH, amount of inputting coagulant, and type of flotation. On the basis of test results, we decided primary factors.
The purpose of this study is to fine out whether melodic percussion playing group program affects the team cohesion and team efficacy of youth soccer players. In this study fifty seven middle school soccer players were participated. The participants were assigned to either a melodic percussion playing group or a control group. In order to identify the effectiveness of music program, assessments were conducted using the team cohesion and team efficacy scales before and after the program. The results of comparison analysis through t-test are as follows. First, in the posttest of team cohesion between groups, the experimental group showed a significant difference over the control group. In the pretest and posttest examinations within a experimental group, the group also showed a significant difference. Second, in the posttest of team efficacy between groups, the experimental group showed a significant difference over the control group. In the pretest and posttest examinations within a experimental group, the group also showed a significant difference. These results of this study suggest that melodic percussion playing group program may be an effective intervention tool to improve team cohesion and team efficacy of youth soccer players.
Among 120 microorganisms isolated from soil, KF-67 was the best producer of flocculant and was examined for flocculating ability in the kaolin clay and CaCl2 suspension. KF-67 was identified to be a species belong to the genus Agrobacterium sp. The influence of components of the culture medium for flocculant production by Agrobacterium sp. KF-67 was studied. The favorable carbon and inorganic nitrogen source for production of the flocculant were glucose and NH4NO3 and their addition concentrations were 2% and 0.1%, respectively. Addition of the organic nitrogen such as yeast extract, peptone and inorganic salt such as CaCO3 significantly increased the production of flocculant. These result indicated that the production of flocculant by Agrobacterium sp. was significantly affected by both organic nitrogen and inorganic salt. The components of the optimum culture medium were 2% glucose, 0.1% NH4NO3, 0.01% yeast extract, 0.01% peptone, 0.04% CaCO3, 0.03% NaCl in initial pH 7.5 when cultured with rotary shaker controlled at 3$0^{\circ}C$ and 120 rpm. Under the optimum culture medium, flocculant production was highly improved about 76% than that isolation medium.

The agglomeration of titania particles with 30 nm in radii was simulated based on the colloidal stability. For surface potential increase from 4.5 to 16.8 mV the height of energy barrier increased. This tendency may explain the experimentally observed aggregation behavior where particles with smaller size and higher potential exhibited higher stability but form bigger and harder agglomerates with irregular shapes after drying.

Coagulation and precipitation process by using lime$(Ca(OH)_2)$ and calcium carbonate $(CaCO_3)$ were applied to remove heavy metals from groundwater in laboratory scale. From results of batch tests, by the addition of $0.3\;wt.\%$ lime, more than $90\%$ of As and Mn were removed and $70-80\%$ of Cd and Zn were removed by using $0.5\;wt.\%$ of lime. Removal efficiency of Pb almost reached $100\%$ with only $0.1\;wt.\%$ of calcium carbonate and more than $93\%$ of Cd were removed by the addition of $0.1\;wt.\%$of calcium carbonate. Pilot scale column experiments were performed to remove heavy metals in the separation process of precipitated Hoc to supernatant after the coagulation/ precipitation. For lime as a coagulant, more than $99\%$of As were removed from artificial groundwater and removal efficiencies of Cd, Mn, and Zn were over $80\%$. By using calcium carbonate, more than $95\%$ of Cd and Pb were removed in column experiment. Fe and Mn contaminated groundwater taken from a real landfill site, Ulsan was used for the column experiment and more than $99\%$ of Fe and Mn were removed by the addition of $1\;wt.\%$ lime in column experiment, suggesting that the coagulation/precipitation process by using lime and calcium carbonate have a great possibility to remove heavy metals from contaminated groundwater.

The flocculation characteristics of polyacrylamide base flocculants were estimated to reduce the moisture content of the dehydrated cakes. The dewaterability for sewage sludge was found to have a marked effect depending on the flocculant type, agitating speed and time, kind of dissolution water, etc. The optimal agitating speed and time were 700 rpm and 3 sec, respectively, in this experimental condition. and the dewaterability was proportion to the agitating speed upto 700rpm. When recycle water as the dissolution water was used, the solution viscosity of all kind of flocculants was decreased. However, the change of its viscosity are not proportioned to the dewaterabilities for each flocculant. Flocculation system of combinations of the first and sencond flocculation using single flocculant was investigated. Effects of the ratio of first and second dosage for dual flocculation on the dewaterability were also investigated. The optimum conditions of dual flocculation system are 75% and 50% as first dosages for low and high viscous flocculant for total dosage of common flocculation, respectively. Based on the results, an overall mechanism of dual flocculation system is proposed and it is envisaged that optimization of flocculation processes in this way can result in considerable savings in cost.
Sedimentation characteristics SS, $BOD_5$ and removal efficiency of waste water in the tissue paper mill using milk carton were examined. Optimum dosage of coagulant, rapid mixing time and slow mixing time were determined by turbidity, SS and S-$BOD_5$ and then equation for treatment efficiency was suggested. For the coagulant, polyaluminium chloride(PAC) are compared with a little better efficiency compare to the aluminium sulfate.

Water shortages are gradually accelerating because higher standards of living are required and water resources are more heavily utilized. Therefore, effective water treatment is necessary in order to retain the required qualify and amount of water. General treatment includes coagulation, flocculation, filtering, and disinfection. coagulation, flocculation, and disinfection are major components of water treatment processes. In this paper, a new automatic decision algorithm is proposed for coagulation. The proposed method shows how to determine the coagulant type and amount using data mining techniques.
