일부 응급구조 전문대학생의 자아개념과 현장실습 만족도에 관한 연구 (A Study on Self-Concept and Satisfaction on Field Practice of E.M.T. College Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze and confirm the correlation between self-concept and the degree of satisfaction on field practice of EMT students. Data were collected from 66 junior college EMT students by quertionaire from August 12 to 13, 1997. The data were analyzed by percentage, mean, t-test, F-test, and Person correlation using SAS program. The results of this study were as follows : 1. Self-concept level revealed to be high as 3.784 of a total score 5.0. 2. Satisfaction level revealed to be low as 2.970 of a total score 5.0. Satisfaction level of teaching revealed to be high and environments revealed to be low. 3. Subject satisfaction, practice time were significant in satisfaction level on field practice. 4. Self-concept was not influenced to the degree of satisfaction on field practice.

  • This study was analyze that they knows how to think improvement about the emergency relief squad 119. The result is following: 1. Convenience when to use an ambulance is not difference of the voluntariness by regional groups, and then result get that ambulance is necessary with going out as quick as possible. 2. Improvement of the ambulance os not difference of the voluntariness by regianal groups, and then result get that ambulance is necessary with improvement for the ambulance and equipment. 3. First remembrance when you call the ambulance is not difference of the voluntariness by sex distinction, and then result get that they will have the public relations.

군 응급구조사의 업무분석 및 직무만족도 (Work and job satisfaction of military emergency medical technicians)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the work and job satisfaction of military emergency medical technicians (EMTs). Methods: We selected 122 military EMTs who participated in the refresher education in 2012. This study was conducted from November 12 to December 21, 2012. Results: The most frequent duties of military EMTs were scene assessment, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, surgical treatment, prehospital first-aid, transfer to the hospital, education, and call response. The air force and navy EMTs had better performance than the army EMTs. As for job satisfaction, the work itself ranked highest, whereas payment ranked lowest. Conclusion: The scope of the work of the military EMTs varied in the 14 fields of work but should be considered for further evaluation. In order to increase the job satisfaction of EMTs, their work conditions should be improved such as through salary increase and extra pay for those with professional certificates.

응급구조학과 학생의 도덕지능과 내부공익신고 의도와의 관계 (A study on the moral intelligence and whistleblowing intent)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to evaluate ethical ability among paramedic students by analyzing their moral intelligence and whistle-blowing intention. Methods: Data from 117 paramedic students were collected from September 7 - 14, 2015. The questionnaire measured the level of moral intelligence (7 components, 41 items) and whistle-blowing intention (8 items) of paramedic students. Results: The mean score of moral intelligence was 3.07 (${\pm}0.28$) and that of whistle-blowing intention was 3.13 (${\pm}0.42$). Moral intelligence and whistle-blowing intention showed a significantly positive correlation with each other (r = .328, p <.001). Conclusion: It is desirable to introduce moral education contents and methods for paramedic students in order to enhance their moral intelligence and whistle-blowing intention.

소방공무원의 외상 후 스트레스 장애 중재 프로그램 효과에 관한 메타분석 (A meta-analysis of the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder intervention programs on firefighters)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to identify the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder intervention programs on firefighters through a meta-analysis. Methods: Seven studies were selected for meta-analysis. The overall average effect size, effect sizes for each intervention variables, and publication bias were analyzed using Comprehensive Meta-Analysis(CMA) version 2.0 (Biostat, Englewood, NJ, USA). Results: Post-traumatic stress disorder intervention programs were found to have a very low, not statistically significant effect (effect size=-.171, confidence interval=-0.361~0.019, Z=-1.768, p>.05). However, these programs was less than 50 (effect size=-.622). Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that further research on the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder intervention among firefighters is needed in order to develop more effective programs.

구급대원의 재난대응역량에 관한 연구 (Study on disaster response competencies of 119 EMTs)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the disaster response competencies of 119 emergency medical technicians (EMTs). Methods: The subjects of this study were 226 119 EMT's at the fire station located in G province. The questionnaire consisted of 5 sub-factors and 29 items for measuring disaster response competencies and the collected data were analyzed using SPSS program. Results: Disaster response competency comprising immediate response, patient triage, patient treatment, patient transport, and collaboration support were 3.48, 3.64, 3.52, 3.64, and 3.16, respectively. Advanced EMTs scored significantly higher in patient triage (p<.001), treatment (p<.001), and transport (p=.022) competency than basic EMTs. Conclusion: In order to improve disaster response competency, it is necessary not only to enhance individual ability but also to continue disaster management training with related organizations.

119 구급대원의 팔로워십 인식유형 (The perception types of followership in 119 EMT)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to provide fundamental data for the development of a human management strategy depending on the followership type in 119 EMTs. Methods: The subjects were thirty eight 119 EMTs working out of hospital in Y, D, S, G city. Data were collected from June 25 to August 10, 2017. The Q sample was selected as 40 statements in total and analyzed using the PC QUANL program. Results: As a result of the study, three followership types explained 67.59% of all the variables. Three different types were identified from the examination. The types were labeled as 'Responsible helper type', 'Quick response type', and 'Enterprising self-development type'. Conclusion: For each type, a leader and follower should develop a team management strategy for 119 EMTs to provide high-quality emergency medical services.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to develop 360° virtual reality videos and common videos for cardiac arrest recognition. Methods: A sequential mixed methods study was conducted, using qualitative interviews (with a total of seven experts) and a quantitative survey. Results: First, the cardiac arrest situation should be developed within 2-3 minutes after witnessing the patient collapse, for each of the four cardiac arrest videos about apnea, gasping, seizure, gasping, and seizure. Second, the education program should be designed so that the education on cardiac arrest recognition can proceed before CPR practice begins. Conclusion: 360° virtual reality videos and common videos for cardiac arrest recognition can play an important role in the education of the general public about cardiac arrest experience.

소방공무원 자살생각에 대한 체계적 문헌고찰 (Suicidal ideation among firefighters: A systematic literature review)

  • Purpose: This study conducted a systematic literature review to analyze the factors related to suicidal ideation among firefighters. Methods: A systematic literature review was conducted to identify factors influencing suicidal ideation among firefighters, using Korean academic information search services from January to June 2022. A total of 238 articles were searched using keywords such as "firefighter," "depression," "post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)," "cognitive emotion regulation," "suicide," and "suicidal ideation." Among them, nine articles were selected for analysis using descriptive correlation studies. Results: It was found that the relationship between firefighter stress (PTSD) and suicidal thoughts was mediated by depression. Even if the stress level (PTSD) was high, suicidal thoughts decreased when the emotional coping level was high. Conclusion: To prevent firefighters from committing suicide, intervention programs with effective approaches to quickly identify high at-risk people and improve their emotional coping skills, should be implemented.

응급의료기관에 근무하는 1급 응급구조사의 직업 불안정성 및 직무열의가 이직의도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of job insecurity and job engagement on turnover intention of paramedics in emergency medical institutions)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to identify the effects of job insecurity and job engagement on turnover intention of paramedics who work in emergency medical institutions. Methods: From October 14 to 28, 2014, data were collected by structured questionnaires from 171 paramedics who were working in emergency medical institutions. The data were analyzed by using SPSS/WIN 21.0. Results: Of the 171 subjects, 57.3% were temporary employees, of whom 87.5% were working in regional emergency medical centers. The mean scores were 3.19 for job insecurity, 4.58 for job engagement, and 3.28 for turnover intention. The correlation between the variables showed that the higher the job insecurity of the participants, the higher their turnover intention (r = .397, p <.001). Moreover, the higher their job engagement, the lower their turnover intention (r = -.354, p <.001). The variable that most significantly affected turnover intention was job insecurity. The coefficient of determination ($R^2$) of job insecurity and job engagement was 24.3%. Conclusion: A law should be enacted to involve paramedics as required personnel for emergency medical institutions in order to enhance the quality of emergency medical services and provide prompt and professional emergency medical services to emergency patients.
