Objectives: The purpose of this study was to verify correlation between social support & psychosocial stress and drinking behavior after consuming alcohol among college students. Methods: This study surveyed by questionnaire 440 students who consumed alcohol regularly from 36 colleges around the country in 2014. Data were analyzed using the program SPSS 21. Results: The effects of social support on problem behavior after drinking and psychosocial stress had significant influence with each path coefficient -0.178(CR= -3.408, p<0.001) and -0.294(CR= -6.195, p<0.001). Also, the effects of psychosocial stress on problem behavior after drinking had significant influence with path coefficient -0.141(CR= -2.858, p<0.05). Social support had significant influence(p<0.001) on problem behavior after drinking through psychosocial stress, serving as a mediator variable, and social support had significant influence on problem behavior after drinking through psychosocial stress. Conclusions: Problem behavior after consuming alcohol held strong relevance in social support and psychosocial stress.

Objectives: This study is to develop a web-based prevention program of alcohol-related problem among university students and to examine its efficacy in changing drinking behaviors and reducing harms associated with alcohol use. Methods: An hour-length program was developed containing news paper articles, pictures, stories and questionnaires in a multimedia format such as flash, animation, and text. Survey data were analyzed to examine program efficacy from a convenient sample of 1,080 freshmen enrolled in a participating university. Results: Participation in the program has resulted in statistically significant changes in drinking behavior between pretest and follow-up, including reduction of frequency of drinking, heavy drinking, and intoxication, typical amount of drinking per occasion, and subjective norm of heavy drinking. Repeated ANOVA revealed significant increases in knowledge on alcohol related facts, including recommended drinking unit by WHO with substantial level of effect size and in making negative alcohol expectancy with very low effect size. Further studies are guaranteed with randomized controlled trial for the program effectiveness. Conclusions: A web-based prevention program of alcohol-related problems in this study was efficacious in changing drinking behavior, knowledge on alcohol-related fact, alcohol expectancy and subjective drinking norm.
In order to find associated factors with alcohol drinking among female students, a survey was conducted of 1,073 female students of a women's university in Seoul from the 22nd of May to the 18th of June, 1995. The major results were as follows: 1. Among 1,073 respondents, 13.8% of them were regular drinkers, 71.8% of them were social drinkers. the alcohol drinking rate of female students had significantly different depending on their field of study. The time of their first drind varied: 2. 14.8% in junior nigh school, 30.2% in high school, 4.7% after high school, and 49.4% in college. 3. The major motivation to start drinking was 'social meeting' (45.4%), 'curiosity' (12.6%), and 'releasing stress' (5.5%). 4. The favorite alcohol of drinkers was beer (62.2%), Soju (25.6%), whisky (1.4%), Makkori (0.2%). 5. The frequency of alcohol drinking was 36.5% once a week, 32.8% 2~3 times per month. 15.7% more than twice a week and 8.4% once a month. 6. Among the respondents, 73.4% of them wanted a health education program about drinking. 7. The drinking of the father, mother, brother, sister, boy friend, girl friend had a statistically significant relation with the drinking of the respondents. 8. Meal regularity, balanced diet, smoking, and knowledge of alcohol drinking had a statistically significant relation with the drinking of the respondents. 9. A multiple logistic regression analysis showed that related factors for alcohol drinking were the following: health status, balanced diet, father's drinking, sister's drinking, boy friend's drinking, and smoking.

Purpose: We interviewed 500 students attending to universities in Gwangju and Jeonnam using a questionnaire. The questionnaire was composed of some questions on general characteristics of the subjects, academic characteristics, health-related behaviors, family function, and drinking problems. Methods: The data collected were analysed with uses of t-test, dispersion analysis, correlations analysis and multi-variate regression analysis. Results: As a result of the simple analysis we found that variables related to drinking problems of college students were religion, family, residence, parents' job, living standard, major, academic year, exercise, parents' drinking, parents' attitude to drinking, drinking quantity, intimacy, conflicts, and upbringing tendency. As a result of the multi-variate regression analysis, we found that the higher intimacy between family members, deterioration in behaviors, family and personal relations, and social functions was statistically significantly low. Conclusion: This study demonstrated that drinking problems of college students had significant relations with intimacy, conflicts and upbringing tendency and suggests that an approach in an aspect of family functions is important to overcome drinking problems of college students.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the drinking behavior of university students in Jeju for the safe campus life. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 549 students in 4 universities in Jeju. The data were analyzed by t-test, one way ANOVA, and multiple regression using SPSS Win 19.0 program. The questionnaire instruments consisted of Alcohol Use Disorders of Identification Test-Korea (AUDIT-K) and Life Stress Scale for College Students adapted by Chon. Results: The alcohol consumption rate of participants accounted for 96.2%. The binge drinking rate in female students were 33.9% and that in male students was 29.5%. The result by scoring AUDIT showed that 30.7% of participants were normal drinking group, 36.0% were hazardous drinking group, and 33.3% were estimated alcohol abuse group. The average score of stress was 1.45 by Likert 4 point scale. The female students tended to have more stresses than male. The most important influencing factors on drinking behavior were the first alcohol drinking(${\beta}=-.250$, p< .001), gender(${\beta}=.202$, p< .001), and relationship problem(${\beta}=.116$, p < .05). Conclusion: The drinking rate of university students revealed higher than that in other age groups. So the early systematic education is strongly recommended to prevent the physical and mental side effects.

The purpose of this study was to identify the relationships between life style, menstrual distress and coping method in nursing students. The survey was conducted with 199 nursing students at a nursing college in K city. Data were collected from November 19 to December 5, 2014, and analyzed using SPSS 18.0. Of the 197 respondents, 78.2% had menstrual distress and distress score was 2.7 on average. There was a significant negative correlation between life style and impaired concentration, life style and behavioral change, rest and impaired concentration. Alcohol was negatively correlated with menstrual distress, impaired concentration, behavial change, and negative affect. Positive correlation was observed between menstrual distress and coping. These results suggest that the development of educational program is needed to promote life style and thereby provide effective interventions for menstrual distress in college students.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the psychological symptoms of insomnia, impulsiveness, and memory impairment according to the drinking frequency of college students. Methods: From May 4 to May 17, 2018, a questionnaire survey was conducted for men and women enrolled in J city S university in the Department of Occupational Therapy, Architecture, Social Welfare, and Digital Content. After visiting the department to explain the purpose of the study, 400 questionnaires were distributed to those who agreed to participate in the study. The SPSS 22.0 program was used to analyze the data collected. All statistical analyses were performed at the significance level of 5 %. Results: There is a correlation between alcohol consumption and psychological symptoms, such as insomnia, impulsivity, and memory impairment. As a result of analyzing all departments, insomnia, impulsivity, and memory impairment were the highest in the addiction level. In post-analysis of psychological symptoms, insomnia and impulsiveness had no significant difference, but there was a significant difference in memory impairment (p=.04). Conclusion: Our hope is that this study will help activate programs like preventative education and counseling on alcohol-related psychological symptoms for college students.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences according to lifestyle in anthropometric measurement, dietary attitude, health-related behaviors and nutrient intake among the college students. The subjects were 994 nation-wide college students (male: 385, female: 609) and divided into 7 clusters (PEAO: passive economy/appearance-oriented type, NCPR: non-consumption/pursuit of relationship type, PTA: pursuit of traditional actuality type, PAT: pursuit of active health type, UO: utility-oriented type, POF: pursuit of open fashion type, PFR: pursuit of family relations type). A cross-sectional survey was conducted using a self administered questionnaire, and the data were collected via Internet or by mail. The nutrient intake data collected from food record were analyzed by the Computer Aided Nutritional Analysis Program. Data were analyzed by a SPSS 12.0 program. Average age of male and female college students were 23.7 years and 21.6 years, respectively. Most of the college students had poor eating habits. In particular, about 60% of the PEAO group has irregularity in meal time. The students in PAH and POF groups showed significantly higher consumption frequency of fruits, meat products and foods cooked with oil compared to the other groups. As for exercise, drinking and smoking, there were significant differences between PAH and the other groups. Asked for the reason for body weight control, 16.2% of NCPR group answered "for health", but 24.8% of PEAO group and 26.3% of POF group answered "for appearance". Calorie, vitamin A, vitamin $B_2$, calcium and iron intakes of all the groups were lower than the Korean DRIs. Female students in PTA group showed significantly lower vitamin $B_1$ and niacin intakes compared to the PFR group. Therefore, these results provide nation-wide information on health-related behaviors and nutrient intake according to lifestyles among Korean college students.
The decrease of bone mineral density gives rise to the outbreak of osteopenia and makes the possibility of a bone fracture. It makes health problems in society. It's very important to prevent osteopenia in advance. Also it's critical to prevent and take care of it in adolescent because it's the most developing period comparing to middle ages because that bone mineral density decreases. There are genetic, physical and enviromental factors that affect bone mineral density. Recently, a lifestyle and eating habits are also changing as the society atmosphere is gradually doing. This study have shown that 134 women and 75 men was chosen and responded to the survey of measuring bone mineral density and investigating a lifestyle. The measure of bone mineral density is to use Dual energy X-ray absorptiometry(DEXA) and check femoral neck and lumbar spine. Also questionaries was required to pre-made survey about their lifestyles. Analysis of data was done with SPSS program. Multiple regression analysis was used for the relation of bone mineral density, the heigths and BMI. The sample of Groups are checked for drinking, smoking or excercising about differences by t-test. The results of the experiments were; first, there is statistically significant differences in the comparisons between BMD and BMD. But there isn't any special correlation between drinking, smoking and BMD. Secondly, bone mineral density becomes low related to an intake of caffeine. Particularly, this is statically significant on women. Also there is statically significant correlation between femoral neck and quantity of motion for both men and women. Third, there is significant relation between eating habits and bone mineral density on women's lumbar spine. However, there is no significant relation between men's lumbar spine and women's one. Therefore, to prevent osteopenia, it's good to abstain from intaking caffeine within an hour after a meal. In addition, it's helpful to walk or run regularly and have a balanced meal.
Purpose: The purpose of the study was to compare dietary habits, perception, and consumption frequency of fast foods between part-time working youths at fast food restaurants and those at other food-related services. Methods: The study subjects were part-time working youths in 13 fast food restaurants (n = 118) and in 25 other places including bakeries, cafes, convenience stores, and other restaurants (n = 115) in Cheongju. Demographic characteristics, dietary habits, perception regarding fast foods, and consumption frequencies of food groups and fast foods were assessed using a self-administered questionnaire. Results: Female youths working at fast food restaurants had unhealthier dietary habits, such as meal skipping and night snacking compared to those working at other places. Consumption frequencies of fruits in males and beans/bean products in females working at fast food restaurants were significantly lower than those working at other places. Perception score on fast foods was significantly lower in males working at fast food restaurants than in males working at other places. However, the consumption frequencies of hamburgers, pizzas, and a total of six fast foods among both males and females working at fast food restaurants were significantly higher than those working at other places after adjusting for confounding variables including age, status, type of residence, allowance, alcohol, smoking, working hours, and hourly pay. Conclusion: Part-time working youths at fast food restaurants had worse dietary habits, such as meal skipping and night snacking, and consumed fast foods more frequently than those working at other places. Interventions for part-time working youths at fast food restaurants may be needed in order to reduce fast food consumption and increase the intake of fruits and vegetables.
