This study is to investigate the characteristics of problem-finding and problem-solving abilities demonstrated by the secondary gifted students in the context of STEAM convergent problems. For this, using the STEAM convergence problem solving ability test, we qualitatively and quantitatively compared and analyzed the workbook outputs written in the process of finding and solving problems for each student in the gifted class. The results are as follows: First, we found that the speciality of the major of the proposed activity paper influenced the preference for questions and pattern of finding problems. Second, it was found that the difference in the ability to find and solve problems for a specific task was not by the major of the gifted class, but by the composition of the group. Third, in finding and solving the STEAM convergent problem, the individual creativity and the cooperative creativity of the group were more significant than the major. These results suggest that it is necessary to include the affective factors of gifted students and the concept of cooperation in problem-finding and problem-solving ability evaluation, and there is a need to develop a teaching and learning strategy that can improve cooperative problem-solving skills so that group creativity can be exhibited well.
This paper describes the effects of Novel Engineering(NE) on improvement of creative problem-solving abilities. We performed two classes for control and experience group. They are all 5th grade students. Core concept of the NE lesson is ecosystem and interaction with 8 hours long. We designed a lesson able to integrate subjects like Korean, Science and Practical Arts. Then we performed pre-and-post t-test on creative problem-solving ability. The experimental results showed that NE lesson has a high effects on 4 sub-elements like self conviction and independence, diffusion thinking, critical thinking and motivational component. The research showed that NE class is a good teaching-learning method to cultivate various competencies for our children. NE is a convergence learning model integrating various problem-solving paradigms ever researched. Thus we expect that NE is a foundation for convergence curriculum model to lead our children to their future and get settled to all schools.

In preparation for the future society, the educational curriculum is changing according to the trend of the times, and with the advent of the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, the purpose of the new 2015 revised curriculum was suggested to foster the convergence creativity of students. The purpose of software education is to promote creativity and further develop problem-solving skills in connection with real life. In addition, flow in learning leads to outstanding educational achievement. However, in elementary school computer education, there is still a lack of development of a convergence class model for students to easily immerse themselves and promote creative problem-solving skills. Therefore, in this study, we designed convergence computer education using Novel Engineering, which is a convergence class model suitable for these educational conditions and applied it to classes. Further, to measure the effect on the improvement of learning flow and creative problem-solving ability. the Novel Engineering-based computer class was applied to the experimental group for 6th graders, and the general computer class was applied to the control group. As a result of the pre-post test between groups, it was found that computer classes using Novel Engineering had a positive effect on learning flow and creative problem-solving ability.

The purpose of this study is to design SW education and to investigate the effects on students' computational thinking and creative problem solving abilities. This study designed classes in accordance with convergent project and the CT-CPS model and 38 undergraduate students have participated this study. The questionnaire survey was given to students and analyzed the effectiveness of class. The results of this study were as follows: Fitst, SW education significantly improved computational thinking and creative problem solving ability. Second, computational thinking improve significantly in high and low initial score group and creative problem solving improve significantly in low initial score group. However, creative problem solving ability did not improve significantly in high initial score group. Third, computational thinking improve significantly in all majors and creative problem solving improve significantly in college of natural science. However, creative problem solving ability did not improve significantly in college of humanities and social science. In examining the effects on students' computational thinking and creative problem-solving abilities and verify differences by pre-test and major, this study provides significance in expanding the understanding about the nature liberal SW education.

The STEAM education was applied to science high school students, and changes in perceptions of students and teachers were investigated after class treatment. By the results of the student's perception survey, very positive results were found in increasing problem-solving capabilities, educational satisfaction, etc. More than 98% of students said they would continue to participate in STEAM education classes. Meanwhile, the lack of time for class activities put a burden on students to complete the problems during class. Especially nanoscience content and activities were properly organized in consideration of the level of cognitive development of the students. In addition, as a result of a survey of teachers' perceptions for students, more than 80.0% of teachers responded very positively in 'self-directed learning ability' and 'problem-solving capability', etc.
