This study aims to figure out factors influencing health and moderating effect of social support resource between those factors and health of low income women in diverse spheres. The data of low income women were 239 cases and were utilized SPSS ver. 21 program. The main results of this study are as follows: firstly, health of low income women is identified medium level. Secondly, education level, self-efficacy and social support resource are related to the self-rated health of low income women. Especially, social support resource functions as moderators on between education and self-rated level of the health of low income women. Consequently, the findings suggest the need to expand the social intervention range to promote health of low income women from cost benefit to psychological support such as capacity building for self-management and establishment of safety-net to extend social support. And subsequently, the time attribute of the factors related to low-income women's health and the diverse characteristics of the subjects should be considered.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the differences of the lower back pain, fatigue, and Achilles tendon thickness according to wearing and not wearing high heels in order to understand symptoms of musculoskeletal diseases caused by wearing high heels in college students. lower extremity pain fatigue and achilles tendon thickness were measured in high heel wear group (n=19) and non high heels wear group (n=23). Participants' general characteristics and the lower extremity pain, fatigue, and Achilles tendon thickness were analyzed using mean, standard deviation. Differences in lower extremity pain, fatigue, and achilles tendon thickness were analyzed by independent t-test. The results showed that the difference between the participants' lower extremity pain (t=2.28, p=.028), right achilles tendon thickness (t=2.30, p=.027) and left achilles tendon thickness (t= 3.89, p<.001) The results of this study show that convergence approach can be applied as a basis for health problems in the structure and function of musculoskeletal disorders associated with wearing high heels. In the future, follow up observation according to the wearing of high heels in the same subject will be needed.
The purpose of this study is to convergence approach analyse the depression tendency by family situation and leisure history in the elderly who live in town house in Gyeonggi-do. This study analysed factors such as family situation, leisure history related to the depression tendency. This study selected 20 elderly people over 65 as research subjects and all data analysis was to conduct analyze by multi-variables independent t-test and one-way ANOVA. The results of GDS showed 11 people(55%) presented with mild depression tendency(M=13.0) and 1 person(5%) showed severe depression tendency. 11 out of 30 questions in GDS had a significant difference among the depression degree. Individual disease type had a significant difference in depression tendency statistically(F(3, 16)=4.534, p<.05). Past leisure satisfaction among total leisure history factors had a significant difference in depression tendency(F(2,17)=3.989, p<.05). The participants whose leisure activity was absent in the past and present showed a regressive depression tendency. Participants with no social companions also presented with the same. The study concluded to grasp the real condition of depression, and make practical alternatives for that, multilateral depression tendency analysis using diverse methods are necessary in the near future for improving reliability of tools.
This study used 236 users of individual rehabilitation system in the regions of Daejeon, Sejong, Chungnam and Chungbuk to review the effects that stressors have on the depression. During this process, the moderating effect of the factor, 'perception of hope', was verified. The data were analyzed using PASW Statistics 18.0. Major findings are as follows; First, the depression found in study subjects was higher than average. Second, there was a significant difference in the depression across groups in accordance with age, residential area, education level, social participation. Third, factors affecting the depression were identified to be residential area, social participation, health, economy and family of stressors, hope. Fourth, hope appeared to have a moderating effect in the relation between health, economy, family of stressors and depression. Based on these findings, the study presents practical and integrated measures to deter depression users of individual rehabilitation system.
This study was attempted to investigate relationship between spousal bereavement and frailty in the Korean older adults using data from the 7th Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(KNHANES VII-3, 2018). The subjects were 1,609, complex sample frequency, descriptive statistics, cross and logistic regression analysis were performed using SPSS program. As a main result, frailty simultaneously adjusted for general, health behavior and disease characteristics did not show significant relationship between spousal bereavement, but frailty is significantly decreased 65~69, 70~74 years old, better of subjective health perception, no arthritis, significantly increased lower level of income. Finally personal, familiar and social efforts are required to manage the elderly who have lost their spouse.
This exploratory research examines a new approach to the healing environment in the changed health paradigm, and seeks to conceptualize the extended characteristics of the healing environment in the context of mental health promotion. This study aims to, first, define the concepts of health, mental health, and the healing environment in the changed paradigm, and second, develop the healing characteristics of the physical environment for mental health promotion and create indicators. For these purposes, this study performed a theoretical exploration that could support the concept of the healing environment for mental health promotion by expanding its scope into not only architecture, psychology, and psychiatry but also philosophy of architecture and environment psychology, which concerns the relationship between humans and the environment. This study considers related theories and attempts to establish a new concept from a convergent perspective. The characteristics of the healing environment categorized as a result of exploratory research on previous studies and theories include (a) physical protection promotion, (b) psychological comfort promotion, (c) social exchange promotion, and (d) personal self-esteem promotion. Establishing the concept of the healing environment for mental health promotion is important to implement the actual healing environment. Based on the concept, more specific design indicators and guidelines could be developed to conduct applied research.
The demand of the real-time data was promoted by significant development of network and IT technology. In particular, the entry of an aging society and income growth increase the demand for personal health related data which attempt to provide various and evolutional healthcare services by several healthcare institutions. Especially the presentation of the medical examination result is the most basic healthcare services which should be expressed to maximize understanding in personal health records for their own health. However according to absence of systematic visualization framework and visualization model, intuitive understanding of healthcare related data is difficult. Cosequently In this study, customized visualization representation based on the results of medical examination was provided to aviod consistent format for health examinee and establish a variety of data representations.
The purpose of the study was to investigate the effect of stress, social support, and self-esteem on depression in female students. A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 249 females students from November to December 2015. The study instruments comprised stress, social support, self-esteem, and depression. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and hierarchial multiple linear regression using SPSS/WIN 18.0 program. Depression was closely related to school year(F=7.03, p<.001), health status(F=15.19, p<.001), major satisfaction(F=18.02, p<.001), and student activity(t=1.98, p=.049). The significant factors influencing depression were stress(${\beta}=.45$, p<.001), self-esteem(${\beta}=-.34$, p<.001), social support(${\beta}=-.14$, p=.004), major satisfaction(${\beta}=-.11$, p=.018). To decrease depression, it is necessary to develop a program coping with stress and increasing the self-esteem and social support. Thus, it will be able to enhance the mental health of female students.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the relationships between self efficacy and health behavior of elderly woman with chronic low back pain. Methods: A descriptive correlational design was used and the participants were 130 eldery women patients with chronic low back pain from one general hospital in 2012. The structured questionnaire included Perceived Self Efficacy Scale, Health Behavior Assessment tool of the Korean Elders. Data analysis included t-test, ANOVA and Pearson's correlation. Results: The mean scores were $67.34{\pm}18.32$ for self efficacy, $99.70{\pm}14.46$ for health behavior. There were significant correlations between self efficacy and health behavior(r=.80). Conclusion: The findings suggest that elderly woman with chronic low back pain need nursing interventions to improve health behaviors by promoting self efficacy.
Purpose: This study was examined to identify effects of suicidal though on health status social support, and life satisfaction in elderly. Method: The subjects consisted of 123 elderly. The data collected from June to July 2012 were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, pearson correlation coefficients and stepwise multiple regression. Result: The mean scores of health status ($2.47{\pm}.70$), social support ($3.36{\pm}.90$), and life satisfaction ($2.90{\pm}.60$) were above the average. And suicidal thought ($.51{\pm}.37$) was below the average. Health status, social support, life satisfaction, and suicidal though were significantly different according to generalized characteristic. Significant correlations were found between health status, social support, life satisfaction, and suicidal thought. Health status was influencing factors of suicidal thought (26.6%). Conclusion: These findings indicate that perceived health status, social support, and life satisfaction may be necessities to decrease suicidal thought of elderly.
