  • Precision servomechanisms are widely used in machine tool, semiconductor and flat panel display industries. It is important to improve contouring accuracy in high-precision servomechanisms. In order to improve the contouring accuracy, cross-coupled control systems have been proposed. However, it is very difficult to select the controller parameters because cross-coupled control systems are multivariable, nonlinear and time-varying systems. In this paper, in order to improve contouring accuracy of a biaxial servomechanism, a cross-coupled controller is adopted and an optimal tuning procedure based on an integrated design concept is proposed. Strict mathematical modeling and identification process of a servomechanism are performed. An optimal tuning problem is formulated as a nonlinear constrained optimization problem including the relevant controller parameters of the servomechanism. The objective of the optimal tuning procedure is to minimize both the contour error and the settling time while satisfying constraints such as the relative stability and maximum overshoot conditions, etc. The effectiveness of the proposed optimal tuning procedure is verified through experiments.

  • Purpose: To analyze the accuracy of tumor volume dose following field width change, to check the difference of dose change by using self-made moving car, and to evaluate practical delivery tumor dose when tomotherapy in the treatment of organ influenced by breathing. Materials and Methods: By using self-made moving car, the difference of longitudinal movement (0.0 cm, 1.0 cm, 1.5 cm, 2.0 cm) was applied and compared calculated dose with measured dose according to change of field width (1.05 cm, 2.50 cm, 5.02 cm) and apprehended margin of error. Then done comparative analysis in degree of photosensitivity of DQA film measured by using Gafchromic EBT film. Dose profile and Gamma histogram were used to measure degree of photosensitivity of DQA film. Results: When field width were 1.05 cm, 2.50 cm, 5.02 cm, margin of error of dose delivery coefficient was -2.00%, -0.39%, -2.55%. In dose profile of Gafchromic EBT film's analysis, the movement of moving car had greater motion toward longitudinal direction and as field width was narrower, big error increased considerably at high dose part compared to calculated dose. The more field width was narrowed, gamma index had a large considerable influence of moving at gamma histogram. Conclusion: We could check the difference of longitudinal dose of moving organ. In order to small field width and minimize organ moving due to breathing, it is thought to be needed to develop breathing control unit and fixation tool.

  • In this paper, we propose that fast tracking algorithm for moving object is separated from background, using partial boundary line information. After detecting boundary line from input image, we track moving object by using the algorithm which takes boundary line information as feature of moving object. we extract moving vector on the imput image which has environmental variation, using high-performance BMA, and we extract moving object on the basis of moving vector. Next, we extract boundary line on the moving object as an initial feature-vector generating step for the moving object. Among those boundary lines, we consider a part of the boundary line in every direction as feature vector. And then, as a step for the moving object, we extract moving vector from feature vector generated under the information of the boundary line of the moving object on the previous frame, and we perform tracking moving object from the current frame. As a result, we show that the proposed algorithm using feature vector generated by each directional boundary line is simple tracking operation cost compared with the previous active contour tracking algorithm that changes processing time by boundary line size of moving object. The simulation for proposed algorithm shows that BMA operation is reduced about 39% in real image and tracking error is less than 2 pixel when the size of feature vector is [$10{\times}5$] using the information of each direction boundary line. Also the proposed algorithm just needs 200 times of search operation bout processing cost is varies by the size of boundary line on the previous algorithm.

  • We present improved deformation energy to enhance the visual quality of a shape deformation technique, where we preserve the local structure of an input planar shape. The deformation energy, in general, consists of several constraints such as Laplacian coordinate constraint to preserve the quality of deformed silhouette edges, mean value coordinates and edge length constraints to preserve the quality of deformed internal shape, and user-specified position constraints to control the shape deformation. When the positions of user-specified vertices change, shape deformation techniques compute the positions of the other vertices by means of nonlinear least squares optimization to minimize the deformation energy. When a user-specified vertex changes its position rapidly, it is frequently observed that the visual quality of the deformed shape decrease rapidly, which is mainly caused by unnecessary enlargement of the Laplacian vectors and unnecessary change of the edge directions along the boundary of the shape. In this paper, we propose improved deformation energy by prohibiting the Laplacian and edge length constraints from changing unnecessarily. The proposed deformation energy incorporated with well-known optimization technique can enhance the visual quality of shape deformation along the silhouette and within the interior of the planar shape while sacrificing only a little execution time.

  • Stereo images have an advantage of calculating depth(distance) values which can not analyze from 2-D images. However, depth information obtained by stereo images has due to following reasons: it can be obtained by computation process; mismatching occurs when stereo matching is processing in occlusion which has an effect on accuracy of calculating depth information. Also, if global method is used for stereo matching, it needs a lot of computation. Therefore, this paper proposes the method obtaining disparity map which can reduce computation time and has higher accuracy than established method. Edge extraction which is image segmentation based on feature is used for improving accuracy and reducing computation time. Color K-Means method which is image segmentation based on color estimates correlation of objects in an image. And it extracts region of interest for applying Loopy Belief Propagation(LBP). For this, disparity map can be compensated by considering correlation of objects in the image. And it can reduce computation time because of calculating region of interest not all pixels. As a result, disparity map has more accurate and the proposed method reduces computation time.

  • Various methods have been proposed to determine the defect detection of welding bead, and recently sensor data and image data inspection have been steadily announced. There are advantages that sensor data inspection is highly accurate, and two-dimensional-based image data inspection is able to determine the position of the welding bead. However, when analyzing only with sensor data, it is difficult to determine whether the welding has been performed at the correct position. On the other hand, the image data inspection does not have high accuracy due to noise and measurement errors. In this paper, we propose a method that can complement the shortcomings of each inspection method and increase its advantages to improve accuracy and speed up inspection by fusing sensor data inspection which are average current, average volt, and mixed gas data, and image data inspection methods and is implemented as software. In addition, it is intended to allow users to conveniently and intuitively analyze and grasp the results by performing analysis using a graphical user interface(GUI) and checking the data and inspection results used for the inspection. Sensor inspection is performed using the characteristics of each sensor data, and image data is inspected by applying a morphology geodesic active contour algorithm. The experimental results showed 98% accuracy, and when performing the inspection on the four image data, and sensor data the inspection time was about 1.9 seconds, indicating the performance of software that can be used as a real-time inspector in the welding process.

  • Purpose: Conventional CBCT(Cone-beam Computed-tomography) caused an error in the target volume due to organ movement in the area affected by respiratory movement. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the usefulness of accuracy and time spent using the Gated CBCT function, which reduces errors when performing RGRT(respiratory gated radiation therapy), and to examine the appropriateness of phase. Materials and methods: To evaluate the usefulness of Gated CBCT, the QUASARTM respiratory motion phantom was used in the Truebeam STxTM. Using lead marker inserts, Gated CBCT was scaned 5 times for every 20~80% phase, 30~70% phase, and 40~60% phase to measure the blurring length of the lead marker, and the distance the lead marker moves from the top phase to the end of the phase was measured 5 times. Using Cedar Solid Tumor Inserts, 4DCT was scanned for every phase, 20-80%, 30-70%, and 40-60%, and the target volume was contoured and the length was measured five times in the axial direction (S-I direction). Result: In Gated CBCT scaned using lead marker inserts, the axial moving distance of the lead marker on average was measured to be 4.46cm in the full phase, 3.11cm in the 20-80% phase, 1.94cm in the 30-70% phase, 0.90cm in the 40-60% phase. In Fluoroscopy, the axial moving distance of the lead marker on average was 4.38cm and the distance on average from the top phase to the beam off phase was 3.342cm in the 20-80% phase, 3.342cm in the 30-70% phase, and 0.84cm in the 40-60% phase. Comparing the results, the difference in the full phase was 0.08cm, the 20~80% phase was 0.23cm, the 30~70% phase was 0.10cm, and the 40~60% phase was 0.07cm. The axial lengths of ITV(Internal Target Volume) and PTV(Planning Target Volume) contoured by 4DCT taken using cedar solid tumor inserts were measured to be 6.40cm and 7.40cm in the full phase, 4.96cm and 5.96cm in the 20~80% phase, 4.42cm and 5.42cm in the 30~70% phase, and 2.95cm and 3.95cm in the 40~60% phase. In the Gated CBCT, the axial lengths on average was measured to be 6.35 cm in the full phase, 5.25 cm in the 20-80% phase, 4.04 cm in the 30-70% phase, and 3.08 cm in the 40-60% phase. Comparing the results, it was confirmed that the error was within ±8.5% of ITV Conclusion: Conventional CBCT had a problem that errors occurred due to organ movement in areas affected by respiratory movement, but through this study, obtained an image similar to the target volume of the setting phase using Gated CBCT and verified its usefulness. However, as the setting phase decreases, the scan time was increases. Therefore, considering the scan time and the error in setting phase, It is recommended to apply it to patients with respiratory coordinated stereotactic radiation therapy using a wide phase of 30-70% or more.

  • Quasi-static tests such as monotonic tension and loading/unloading tension were performed to investigate the bond characteristics and the failure processes for the T-joint specimens made from fiber/epoxy composite material. Two types of specimens, each consists of two components, e. g. skin and frame. were manufactured by co-curing and secondary bonding. During the monotonic tension test, AE instrument was used to predict AE signal at the initial and middle stage of the damage propagation. The damage initiation and progression were monitored optically using m (Charge Coupled Device) camera. And the internal crack front profile was examined using ultrasonic C-scan. The results indicate that the loads representing the abrupt increase of the AE signal are within the error range of 5 percent comparing to the loads shown in the load-time curve. Also it is shown that the initiation of crack occurred in the noodle region for both co-cured and secondarily bonded specimen. The final failure occurred in the noodle region for the co-cured specimen. but at the skin/frame termination point for the secondarily bonded specimen. Based on the results, it was found that two kinds of specimen show different failure modes depending on the manufacturing methods.

  • In this paper, we use a nested family of models of Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroscedasticity(GARCH) to verify asymmetric conditional heteroscedasticity in the KOSPI and Won-Dollar exchange rate. This study starts from an investigation of whether time series data have asymmetric features not explained by standard GARCH models. First, we use kernel density plot to show the non-normality and asymmetry in data as well as to capture asymmetric conditional heteroscedasticity. Later, we use three representative asymmetric heteroscedastic models, EGARCH(Exponential Garch), GJR-GARCH(Glosten, Jagannathan and Runkle), APARCH(Asymmetric Power Arch) that are improved from standard GARCH models to give a better explanation of asymmetry. Thereby we highlight the fact that volatility tends to respond asymmetrically according to positive and/or negative values of past changes referred to as the leverage effect. Furthermore, it is verified that how the direction of asymmetry is different depending on characteristics of time series data. For the KOSPI and Korean won-US dollar exchange rate, asymmetric heteroscedastic model analysis successfully reveal the leverage effect. We obtained predictive values of conditional volatility and its prediction standard errors by using moving block bootstrap.

  • In this paper, we propose setting measurement point in the 3D scan data based on the manual measurement data. The optimal 3D body scan postures and measurement points for automatic measurement of breast were set up. The outer breast point may be different depending on the body shape or standing posture as it is on the line connected from the bisecting point of the lateral waist thickness to front armpit point. Therefore, it is necessary to consider the breast-related outer point proposed in this study. And many researches need to reduce the differences between MAM and 3D dimension items associated with the upper breast point. When measuring depth, the difference by pressing in MAM should be taken into account. And the differences in flexion depending on breast type can make a difference in the 3D measurement. So the measurement method in 3D scan should be further studied depending on the types of breast and verified by multiple subjects.
