Emulsification of O/W Emulsion Using Non-ionic Mixed Surfactant: Optimization Using CCD-RSM (비이온성 혼합계면활성제를 이용한 O/W 유화액의 제조 : CCD-RSM을 이용한 최적화)

  • A mixing ratio of the oil in water (O/W) emulsion of palm oil and the non-ionic surfactant (Tween-Span type) possessing different hydrophile-lipophilie balance (HLB) values was evaluated in this work. An optimum condition was determined through analysis of main and interaction effects of each quantitative factor using central composite design model-response surface methodology (CCD-RSM). Quantitative factors used by CCD-RSM were an emulsification time, emulsification speed, HLB value and amount of surfactant. On the other hand, the reaction parameters were the viscosity and mean droplet size of O/W emersion. Optimized conditions obtained from CCD-RSM were the emulsification time of 12.7 min, emulsification speed of 5,551 rpm, HLB value of 8.0 and amount of surfactant of 5.7 wt.%. Ideal experimental results under the optimized experimental condition were the viscosity of 1,551 cP and mean droplet size of 432 nm which satisfy the targeted values. The average error value from our actual experiment for verifying the conclusions was below to 2.5%. Therefore, a high favorable level could be obtained when the CCD-RSM was applied to the optimized palm oil to water emulsification.

Preparation of Cosmeceuticals Containing Wheat Sprout Extracts: Optimization of Emulsion Stability Using CCD-RSM (밀싹 추출물이 함유된 Cosmeceuticals의 제조: CCD-RSM을 이용한 유화안정성 최적화)

  • In this study, an optimization for the production of water emulsion was designed by adding an extract of wheat sprout, which is known to contain a large amount of antioxidants. The central composite design of reaction surface analysis method (CCD-RSM) was used for the optimization process. The amount of emulsifier, emulsification time, and added amount of wheat sprout extract were selected as independent variables based on our preliminary experiments. The mean droplet size (MDS), viscosity, and emulsion stability index (ESI) were set as the responses to evaluate the stability of the emulsion. For each independent variable, the P-value and coefficient of determination were evaluated to verify the reliability of the experiments. From the result of CCD-RSM, optimum conditions for the emulsification were determined as 23.6 min, 7.7 wt.%, and 3.9 wt.% for the emulsification time, amount of emulsifier, and amount of sprout, respectively. From the optimized condition obtained, MDS, viscosity, and ESI after 7 days from reaction were estimated as 252.3 nm, 616.7 cP, and 88.7%, respectively. The overall satisfaction was 0.9137, which supported the validity of the experiments, and the error rate was measured at 0.5% or less by advancing the experiments. Therefore, an optimized process for producing an emulsion by adding the malt extract was designed by the CCD-RSM.

Formation of Nano-emulsions with Resorcinol bis-ethylhexanoate upon Type of Emulsifiers (레조르시놀 비스-에틸헥사노에이트를 함유한 나노에멀젼의 유화제 종류에 따른 형성)

  • RS White (resorcinol bis-ethylhexanoate) is used in cosmetics as a skin whitening agent. In this study, we studied the possibility of nano-emulsion formation containing whitening agent, RS White, with different types of emulsifying agents. With Tween 80, 60, HCO 60 and 40 as a hydrophilic surfactants and Span 80 as ahydrophilic surfactant, nano-emulsions were formed at appropriate concentrations, but they were not formed in the system using the Myrj 52, Montanov L, and Tegocare 450 with Span 80. The diameter of nano-emulsion sphere was smaller than 100 nm. The emulsion showed a translucent appearance and maintained stability in stability evaluation with time. In vitro skin permeation experiments showed that amounts of skin permeated nano-emulsion for 24 h were $70.84{\mu}g/cm^2$ and those of O/W emulsion were $28.97{\mu}g/cm^2$. In conclusion, a stable nano-emulsion containing the resorcinol bis-ethylhexanoate is effective for potential efficacy system as an efficient delivery system of the functional materials into skin.

환경친화성 천연세정제의 유화특성에 관한 연구

  • 음이온계와 양이온계의 계면활성제를 사용하여 천연세정성분인 리모넨의 유화특성을 고찰한 결과 두 계열 모두 만족할 만한 결과를 나타내지 못하였고, 교반속도는 1500 rpm이상에서는 영향이 거의 없었으며, 유화온도는 상온에서도 가능할 것으로 판단된다. 유사한 구조와 물성을 가지는 리모넨과 ${\sigma}$-피넨을 비교한 결과 리모넨이 우수한 것으로 나타났으며 무독성인 IPA를 첨가한 경우가 첨가하지 않은 것보다 양호한 결과를 얻었다.

  • 비이온성 계면활성제의 화학적 구조에 따른 리모넨의 유화분산시 입경변화와 세정성을 비교검토한 결과 리모넨과 계면활성제의 사용비가 30:1의 소량을 사용하여도 충분한 세정성을 보였으며, 에스테르 구조를 가진 계면활성제가 유화능력이 우수하여 에멀젼 입경이 작고 접착력은 크며, 접촉각이 작아 가장 우수한 세정성을 나타내었다. 그리고 에테르 구조의 계면활성제간 비교로부터 방향족 고리 구조보다 지방족 사슬구조가 에멀젼의 입경이 작고 세정성이 우수하였다. 에멀젼의 안전성은 에스테르계가 가장 우수하였다.

Synthesis and Charaterization of Polymerizable Acryl's Emulsifier to prepare Green Glue (친환경 접착제 제조용 아크릴계 반응성 유화제의 합성)

  • In this study, we synthesized reactive surfactant which have functional radical group for effective chemical reaction. Reactive surfactant have been synthesized using synthesis of polyoxyethylene lauryl ether(POE 23) which is nonionic surfactant and methacrylic acid, acrylic acid. benzene was used as the solvent, p-TsOH was used as the catalyst. synthesized surfactant was confirmed by FT-IR, $^1H$-NMR spectra, and elemental analysis. Evaluation of physical properties was measured HLB, cloud point, surface tension, the critical micelle concentration, emulsifying power. HLB number was evaluated 11.62 to 12.09 range. The Critical Micelle Concentration(cmc) values evaluated was $1{\times}10^{-4}{\sim}5{\times}10^{-4}mol/L$ by surface tension method. The cloud point was $35^{\circ}C$, $39^{\circ}C$ each. The emulsifymvcqa ing properties of the synthesized surfactants was lower than polyoxyethylene lauryl ether. In addition, soybean oil was better than benzene. The experimental results confirmed the ester bond, the yield of 93.27%, 94.49% was found.

Preparation of Chitosan Microcapsules Containing Rosmarinic Acid (로즈마리산을 함유한 키토산 마이크로캡슐의 제조)

  • The microcapsules containing rosmarinic acid were prepared in this research. Rosmarinic acid is known that it is effective to care the winkles. Chitosan was used as a wall material, and glutaraldehyde was used as a crosslinking agent, and the microcapsules were prepared by the water-in-oil (W/O) emulsion method. In this method Span80 was used as an emulsifier, and mineral oil was used as a medium material. Perfectly spherical microcapsules were obtained in the size range of $0.5{\sim}0.9{\mu}m$. The effects of emulsifier concentration and stirring speed on the average particle size and distribution, and encapsulation efficiency were investigated. The release behavior of the microcapsules with different amount of the crosslinking agent and different emulsifier concentrations were also investigated.

Modeling of Liquid Emulsion Membrane for Organic Acid Separation (유기산의 분리를 위한 유화액막의 수학적 모델)

  • A mathematical model was proposed to describe the behavior of the liquid emulsion membrane(LEM) conraining sodium carbonate as internal stripping reagent. Experimental results of the batch extraction of lactic acid were compared with computed results by using the model. it was found that the model computations could predict fairly well the effects of parameter variations such as the carrier concentration, the stripping reagent concentration, the stirrer speed and the treatment ratio. An attempt has been made to reduce emulsion swelling which is one of the main problem of LEM. As the additives for swelling control, liquid paraffin, n-decanol, cyclohexanone and Span 85 were used. All the additives that were investigated tend to reduce the quantity of swelling to some extent. Cyclohexanone was found not only to reduce the swelling but also to increase largely the acid transport rate.

ISP, CSP의 대체제로서 Wheat Fiber 첨가한 유화형 소시지의 저장성에 미치는 영향

  • 본 실험은 ISP, CSP의 대체제로서의 wheat fiber 첨가가 유화형 소시지의 저장성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. pH를 비교한 결과는 저장 4주차에서만 wheat fiber 첨가한 처리구가 유의적으로 낮았으며, 가열수율은 control과 비교하여 모든 처리구가 유의적으로 높게 나타났다. 저장감량은 저장 초기에는 wheat fiber를 첨가한 처리구가 유의적으로 낮은 감량을 보였으나, 저장 4주째에서는 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았다. 물성은 hardness, gumminess, chewiness의 경우 모든 처리구에서 높게 나타났으며, 대체적으로 저장기간이 증가함에 따라서 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. TBA수치와 VBN수치는 저장기간이 경과함에 따라서 수치가 증가하는 것으로 나타났으며, 관능검사 결과도 모든 항목에서 유의차가 나타나지 않았다. 이상의 결과 ISP, CSP의 대체제로 wheat fiber를 첨가한다면 유화형 소시지의 저장성에 영향을 주지 않으며, 경제적인 측면에서 제품의 단가를 절감할 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.
