  • This study investigates the characteristic properties of strength, flowability, durability and drying shrinkage to control strength and to reduce heat of hydration of high performance concrete using crushed stone fines. According to the experimental results, when crushed stone fines are increased every 10%, $10{\sim}15%$ of compressive strength is decreased and flowability of high performance concrete is effectively improved due to the decrease of modulus of deformation and confined water ratio. When crushed stone fines are replaced every 10%, $4^{\circ}C$ of the highest adiabatic temperature rise is decreased by reducing the unit cement. However, 5% of drying shrinkage is increased in the same condition In the meantime, durability of high performance concrete is excellent, having over 100% of good relative dynamic modulus of elasticity due to fineness of formation mused by the increase of the unit powder content and the improvement of flowability, without regard to the replacement of crushed stone fines. Therefore, It can be said that the usage of crushed stone fines can control the strength of high performance concrete by replacement and reduce heat of hydration.

  • This research intends to analyze the basic characteristics of cements(hereinafter "CC") with affordable price and particle distribution effective as hydration heat face which are discharged at the outlet of smashing process of ordinary portland cement(hereinafter "OPC") manufacturing process such as fluidity, rigidity, temporary insulation temperature increase amount etc to review the potential of developing "CC" to 3 ingredients low heat cement that substitutes fly ash and blast furnace slag(hereinafter "BS"). As a result of experiment, fluidity tended to decrease with increase in CC substitution rate, and increase with increase in FA+BS substitution rate. Air amount tended to slightly decrease with increase in CC substitution rate, and decrease with increase in FA+BS substitution rate. Condensation characteristics were such that condensation time was delayed with increase in CC and FA+BS substitution rate. As for the temperature rising amount by temporary insulation, peak temperature decreased with increase in CC substitution rate and increase in FA+BS substitution rate in general, and thereafter, temperature tended to decrease slowly. Compressive strength decreased with increase in CC and FA+BS substitution rate, and as aging goes on, long term strength was equivalent to plain or higher. By and large, when FA+BS was substituted to CC, fluidity and air amount tended to decrease, but hydration heat face showed good reduction effects, suggesting possibility of development to 3 ingredients low heat cement.

  • Bamboo is representing environmentally friendly building finishing materials as proven in the former researches. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the application properties of cementitious materials modified with bamboo charcoal as building finish materials. Flow test in fresh condition was conducted to assess the workability. Compressive and bending strength were measured after harding. As the thermal properties, thermal conductivity and density were measured. The properties were surpassing over them in case of using the pine charcoal in every tests. The thermal conductivity of them increased with the modified ratio. After the modified ratio 50%, the thermal conductivity decreased. Insolation and absorption performance is due to the lower density by modification of bamboo charcoal.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate experimentally the construction performances and economical evaluation of the self-compacting concrete in actual site work after selecting the optimum mix proportions according to cementitious materials. Slag cement type of 46.5% slag powder and belite cement of 51.4% $C_2S$ content, lime stone powder as binders are selected for site experiment including water cement ratio. Also, test items for optimum mix proportion are as followings ; (1) Slump flow, 500 mm reaching time, V-type flowing time and U-box height (2) Setting time, bleeding, shortening depth and adiabatic temperature rising (3) Mixing time in plant (4) Concrete quantity and cost, quality control in actual concrete work. As test results, (4) Optimum water-cement ratio ; Slag cement type 41.0% and belite cement 51.0% (2) Setting time and bleeding finishing time of slag cement are faster, bleeding content of slag cement is higher, shortening depth and adiabatic temperature rising of belite cement type are lower (3) Optimum mixing time in batcher plant is 75 seconds and concrete productive capacity is about $100{\sim}110m^3/hr$. (4) Belite cement type is lower than slag cement type in material cost 14.0%, and concrete quantity in actual concreting work save 3.3% in case of belite cement type. Therefore, self-compacting concrete of belite cement type is definitely superior to that of slag cement type in various test items without compressive strength development.

^ x Super flowing concrete causes high strength and the increase of heat of hydration because of the big unit powder content of concrete to increase flowability and to improve compact of concrete. Therefore, this study investigates the characteristic properties of strength, flowability, durability and drying shrinkage to control strength and to reduce heat of hydration of super flowing concrete using crushed stone fines. According to the experimental results, when crushed stone fines are increased every 10%, 10~15% of compressive strength is decreased and flowability of super flowing concrete is effectively improved due to the decrease of modulus of deformation and confined water ratio. When crushed stone fines are replaced every 10%, 4$^{\circ}C$ of the highest adiabatic temperature rise is decreased by reducing the unit cement. However, 5% of drying shrinkage is increased in the same condition. In the meantime, durability of super flowing concrete is excellent, having over 90 % of good relative dynamic modulus of elasticity due to fineness of formation caused by the increase of the unit powder content and the improvement of flowability, without regard to the replacement of crushed stone fines. Therefore, it can be said that the usage of crushed stone fines can control the strength of super flowing concrete by replacement and reduce heat of hydration.

  • In this study, increasing the range of replacement rate of FA with concrete properties were analyzed to provide basic data of FA replacement 0-40 % and curing temperature $5-35^{\circ}C$ range. As a result of the increased fluidity in proportion to the increase in FA, but decreased air. Setting time delayed at replacement rate increases and low temperature, simple insulation temperature history of the FA up to 40 % replacement rate increases the maximum temperature was low $8^{\circ}C$, the highest temperature reaching time delay of 13 hours. FA replacement up stream of the curing temperature, compressive strength compared to the higher plane, it was found that improved strength development. In carbonation tests with increasing the replacement ratio of FA carbonation depth was increased. Therefore, continued research on carbonation measures was to be necessary.

  • Light-weight concrete uses forming agents for reducing weight and high heat insulation property. However, the forming agents make problems of decreased volume and compressive strength of the concrete. This research aims to having weight-reduction and securing heat insulation property using recycled wasted form polyurethane without any forming agents. A small quantity of admixture used for constructability and avoiding material segregation. We picked admixtures from two different companies which shows evenly dispersed of wasted form polyurethane. This research conducts a study on the effect of mixing ratio of admixture on the light-weight concrete used wasted form polyurethane. As a result of the test, increased mixing ratio of the admixtures results reduced fluidity of concrete. On the other hand, percentage of moisture content and compressive strength are increased slightly. Combustibility performance and sound insulation performance are also secured, as well.

  • The characteristics of low-heat concrete, mixed with ground blast furnace slag and ferronickel slag aggregate, were analyzed. Moreover, the applicability of this concrete for mass concrete in LNG storage tanks was examined. Initially, the study investigated the characteristics of fresh and hardened concrete. Subsequently, the temperature rising curve was obtained. Utilizing the obtained parameters from the curves, a series of thermal stress analyses for the LNG storage tank were conducted to assess the risk of cracking. The results confirmed that concrete mixtures incorporating ground blast furnace slag and ferronickel slag aggregate not only exhibited sufficient workability but also achieved a compressive strength of approximately 40 MPa within 28 days. Furthermore, the concrete demonstrated a lower terminal heat rise and a faster heat generation rate compared to low-heat Portland cement concrete. An analysis of thermal stress in various sections of the LNG tank validated a low risk of cracking.

  • Objective of this study is to identify properties on strength increase of hardened concrete and fluidization of non-hardened concrete using waste ceramics generated by construction waste, which is a type of industrial waste, and by ceramics, which is a clay plastic, during its production process, and determine length change ratio caused by drying shrinkage during substitution of recycle aggregate and waste ceramics, and whether they can be used as concrete compounds. Slump of non-hardened concrete exhibited the best fluidization and formability at recycled aggregate's replacement ratio of 60% driven by higher substitution ratio of recycled aggregate and waste ceramics while air content met the KS requirement when substitution ratio of waste ceramics was $4,000cm^2/g$. Compressive strength of hardened concrete exceeded the requirements at early age and standard age and temperature dropped by roughly $6{\sim}10^{\circ}C$ less than the standard at maximum temperature in adiabatic temperature increase, which will hopefully result in stronger durability.

  • self-loading, various problems related to construction can be solved as well as the save of construction cost. Thus, this study has an aim of applying foam concrete to structural purpose by adding bottom ash as a reinforcing material like fine aggregate, in contrast to conventional non-structural usage such as soundproofing or insulating materials. In addition, it was evaluated in terms of unit volume weight, flow value, air void, water absorption and dosage of foam agent wether replacement of cement by granulated blast furnace slag or fly-ash has an effect on the material characteristics of foam concrete. As results of experiments, it can be found that the increase of fine aggregate ratio, that is to say, the increase of bottom ash results in the increase of unit volume weight, while decreasing air void and flow value. But, appropriate addition of bottom ash to foam concrete makes it easy to control a homogeneous and uniform quality in foam concrete due to less sensitive to bubbles. As the replacement ratio of mineral admixtures such as granulated blast furnace slag and fly-ash increases, as unit volume weight tends to decrease. In the meanwhile, serious effects were shown on fluidity of foam concrete when more than limit of replacement ratio was applied.
