Automatic lineament extraction algorithms had been developed by various researches for geological purpose using remotely sensed data. However, most of them are designed for a certain topographic model, for instance rugged mountainous region or flat basin. Most of common topographic characteristic in Korea is a mountainous region along with alluvial plain, and consequently it is difficult to apply previous algorithms directly to this area. A new algorithm of automatic lineament extraction from remotely sensed images is developed in this study specifically for geological applications. An algorithm, named as DSTA(Dynamic Segment Tracing Algorithm), is developed to produce binary image composed of linear component and non-linear component. The proposed algorithm effectively reduces the look direction bias associated with sun's azimuth angle and the noise in the low contrast region by utilizing a dynamic sub window. This algorithm can successfully accomodate lineaments in the alluvial plain as well as mountainous region. Two additional algorithms for estimating the individual lineament vector, named as ALEHHT(Automatic Lineament Extraction by Hierarchical Hough Transform) and ALEGHT(Automatic Lineament Extraction by Generalized Hough Transform) which are merging operation steps through the Hierarchical Hough transform and Generalized Hough transform respectively, are also developed to generate geological lineaments. The merging operation proposed in this study is consisted of three parameters: the angle between two lines($\delta$$\beta$), the perpendicular distance($(d_ij)$), and the distance between midpoints of lines(dn). The test result of the developed algorithm using Landsat TM image demonstrates that lineaments in alluvial plain as well as in rugged mountain is extremely well extracted. Even the lineaments parallel to sun's azimuth angle are also well detected by this approach. Further study is, however, required to accommodate the effect of quantization interval(droh) parameter in ALEGHT for optimization.

In this paper, the linear active phased array antenna system operated in Ku DBS band was designed and experimented. The antenna system was composed of sixteen radiating active channels and Wilkinson power combiners with 16-channel inputs, a stabilizing DC bias and phase control board. Electrical beams of the antenna system can be formed by controling the phase-states of 3-bit digital phase shifter inside each active channel by virtue of the phase control board. The amplitude and phase deviations measured between active channels were less than ${\pm}0.8dB$ and ${\pm}15^{\circ}$, respectively, and the noise figure of each active channel was measured less than 1.2 dB in the operating band. The measured performances of the overall antenna system showed the antenna gain of more than 23.07 dBi and the sidelobe level of less than -11.17 dBc, and the bore-sight cross-polarization level of less than -12.75 dBc in the operating band. Also, by phase-controlling active channels, the beam scan patterns at $10^{\circ},\;20^{\circ},\;30^{\circ}$ were measured, and the losses caused by the corresponding beam scanning were 1.1 dB, 2.5 dB and 3.6 dB from the measurements, respectively.
This Study focused on the development of SMPS (Switching Mode Power Supply) to supply the constant votage and current nevertheless LED fluorescent Light generated the electric noise (with Harmonics) and Inrush current at instant time of turn-on and off. Recently, according to the Green policy in government, the LED fluorescent Lighter showed the rapidly increasing tend as indoor and outdoor Lighter. But, because of costs, LED fluorescent Light not considered and neglected the following items; power factor, efficiency, Harmonics and Inrush current. So, we are developed the SMPS about 3 key issues as follows: 1st, power factor and efficiency is 85%. 2nd, the switching noisy by harmonic is minimized. 3rd, the Inrush current at turn on and off time is reduced the minimum 0.3 A after $100{\mu}sec$ on turnon time. The proposed SMPS adjusted by LNK 409 driver (included the high frequency modulation function). Although, the developed SMPS maintained the about 85% of power factor and efficiency. but, the SMPS must be generated low heat by the variation of minute load current at switching timing. To improve the above weak point, the developed SMPS have the feedback monitoring circuit between input side and output side to maintain the power factor and efficiency. Also, we are studied the time-constant of control circuit to output the constant voltage and current nevertheless the load disturbance of LED lighting. The LED fluorescent Light of 46W is checked the above items.

Recently, governmental authority and local government are looking for a method of utilizing location information of smart phone for urgent rescue in fire and kidnap situation. Under this background, in this study, a method of rapidly collecting, constructing location determination based Wi-Fi AP data utilizing location information of smart phone and mobile mapping system was suggested in order to construct precise positioning information that could be utilized under urgent situation. By performing compensation work for GPS/INS/DMI through collected outcome, position of collected vehicle was acquired. In addition, source data integrating Wi-Fi information and collected position by coupling based on Wi-Fi AP collector and GPS time was constructed and Wi-Fi radiomap was constructed by removing Wi-Fi signal noise that reduces precise position performance. As a result of performing location determination performance assess ment by selecting 10 test positions by each local government, result value of 25.46cm for total local government average and 27.76m for SD could be obtained. It is considered that this result could be utilized as a technology of being able to supplement or substituting GPS location determination technology that is impossible in plocation determination of mobile communication company's base station (200m~2km) and indoor being used at present.

In this paper, we describe a compensation method of diurnal effect which is one of the factors giving large effect on the performance when using ground-wave signals like Loran-C for a backup and substitute navigation system of global satellite navigation system such as GPS, and currently many researches of the topics are doing in USA and in Europe. In order to compensate diurnal effect, we find periodic frequency components by using the Least Square Spectral Analysis (LSSA) method at first and then compensate the effect by subtracting the estimated compensation signal, obtained by using the estimated amplitude and phase of the individual frequency component, from the original signal. In this paper, we propose a simple compensation algorithm and analysis the performance through simulations. From the results, it is observed that the amplitude and phase can be estimated with under 5 % and 0.17 % in a somewhat poor receiving situation with 0 dB Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR). Also, we analyze the obtainable performance improvement after compensation by using the measured Loran-C data. From the results, it is observed that we can get about 22 % performance improvement when a moving average with 5 minutes interval is employed.

Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) were generated by ERS-l/2 and JERS-1 SAR interferometry in Daejon area, Korea. The quality of the DEM's was evaluated by the Ground Control Points (GCPs) in city area where GCPs were determined by GPS surveys, while in the mountain area with no GCPs, a 1:25,000 digital map was used. In order to minimize errors due to the inaccurate satellite orbit information and the phase unwrapping procedure, a Differential InSAR (DInSAR) was implemented in addition to the traditional InSAR analysis for DEM generation. In addition, DEMs from GTOPO30, SRTM-3, and 1:25,000 digital map were used for assessment the resolution of the DEM generated from DInSAR. 5-6 meters of elevation errors were found in the flat area regardless of the usage and the resolution of DEM, as a result of InSAR analyzing with a pair of ERS tandem and 6 pairs of JERS-1 interferograms. In the mountain area, however, DInSAR with DEMs from SRTM-3 and the digital map was found to be very effective to reduce errors due to phase unwrapping procedure. Also errors due to low signal-to-noise ratio of radar images and atmospheric effect were attenuated in the DEMs generated from the stacking of 6 pairs of JERS-1. SAR interferometry with multiple pairs of SAR interferogram with low resolution DEM can be effectively used to enhance the resolution of DEM in terms of data processing time and cost.
Sea surface wind is one of the most fundamental variables for understanding diverse marine phenomena. Although scatterometers have produced global wind field data since the early 1990's, the data has been used limitedly in oceanic applications due to it slow spatial resolution, especially at coastal regions. Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is capable to produce high resolution wind field data. KOMPSAT-5 is the first Korean satellite equipped with X-band SAR instrument and is able to retrieve the sea surface wind. This study presents the validation results of sea surface wind derived from the KOMPSAT-5 backscattering coefficient data for the first time. We collected 18 KOMPSAT-5 ES mode data to produce a matchup database collocated with buoy stations. In order to calculate the accurate wind speed, we preprocessed the SAR data, including land masking, speckle noise reduction, and ship detection, and converted the in-situ wind to 10-m neutral wind as reference wind data using Liu-Katsaros-Businger (LKB) model. The sea surface winds based on XMOD2 show root-mean-square errors of about $2.41-2.74m\;s^{-1}$ depending on backscattering coefficient conversion equations. In-depth analyses on the wind speed errors derived from KOMPSAT-5 backscattering coefficient data reveal the existence of diverse potential error factors such as image quality related to range ambiguity, discrete and discontinuous distribution of incidence angle, change in marine atmospheric environment, impacts on atmospheric gravity waves, ocean wave spectrum, and internal wave.
In this paper, DLKF (Deep Learning Keypoint Filtering), the deep learning-based keypoint filtering method for the rapidization of the image registration method for remote sensing images is proposed. The complexity of the conventional feature-based image registration method arises during the feature matching step. To reduce this complexity, this paper proposes to filter only the keypoints detected in the artificial structure among the keypoints detected in the keypoint detector by ensuring that the feature matching is matched with the keypoints detected in the artificial structure of the image. For reducing the number of keypoints points as preserving essential keypoints, we preserve keypoints adjacent to the boundaries of the artificial structure, and use reduced images, and crop image patches overlapping to eliminate noise from the patch boundary as a result of the image segmentation method. the proposed method improves the speed and accuracy of registration. To verify the performance of DLKF, the speed and accuracy of the conventional keypoints extraction method were compared using the remote sensing image of KOMPSAT-3 satellite. Based on the SIFT-based registration method, which is commonly used in households, the SURF-based registration method, which improved the speed of the SIFT method, improved the speed by 2.6 times while reducing the number of keypoints by about 18%, but the accuracy decreased from 3.42 to 5.43. Became. However, when the proposed method, DLKF, was used, the number of keypoints was reduced by about 82%, improving the speed by about 20.5 times, while reducing the accuracy to 4.51.
This paper presents an idea of ScanSAR image formation. For image formation of ScanSAR that utilizes the burst mode for raw signal acquisition, most conventional single burst methods essentially require a step of azimuth stitching which contributes to radiometric and phase distortions to some extent. Time-domain cross correlation could replace SPECAN which is most popularly used for ScanSAR processing. The core idea of the proposed method is that it is possible to relieve the necessity of azimuth stitching by an extension of Doppler bandwidth of the reference function to the burst cycle period. Performance of the proposed method was evaluated by applying it to the raw signals acquired by a spaceborne SAR system, and results satisfied all image quality requirements including 3 dB width, peak-to-sidelobe ratio (PSLR), compression ratio,speckle noise, etc. Image quality of ScanSAR is inferior to that of Stripmap in all aspects. However, it is also possible to improve the quality of ScanSAR image competitive to that of Stripmap if focused on a certain parameter while reduced qualities of other parameters. Thus, it is necessary for a ScanSAR processor to offer a great degree of flexibility complying with different requirements for different applications and techniques.

Coastal monitoring using multiple platforms/sensors is a very important tools for accurately understanding the changes in offshore marine environment and disaster with high temporal and spatial resolutions. However, integrated observation studies using multiple platforms and sensors are insufficient, and none of them have been evaluated for efficiency and limitation of convergence. In this study, we aimed to suggest an integrated observation method with multi-remote sensing platform and sensors, and to diagnose the utility and limitation. Integrated in situ surveys were conducted using Rhodamine WT fluorescent dye to simulate various marine disasters. In September 2019, the distribution and movement of RWT dye patches were detected using satellite (Kompsat-2/3/3A, Landsat-8 OLI, Sentinel-3 OLCI and GOCI), unmanned aircraft (Mavic 2 pro and Inspire 2), and manned aircraft platforms after injecting fluorescent dye into the waters of the South Sea-Yeosu Sea. The initial patch size of the RWT dye was 2,600 ㎡ and spread to 62,000 ㎡ about 138 minutes later. The RWT patches gradually moved southwestward from the point where they were first released,similar to the pattern of tidal current flowing southwest as the tides gradually decreased. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) image showed highest resolution in terms of spatial and time resolution, but the coverage area was the narrowest. In the case of satellite images, the coverage area was wide, but there were some limitations compared to other platforms in terms of operability due to the long cycle of revisiting. For Sentinel-3 OLCI and GOCI, the spectral resolution and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) were the highest, but small fluorescent dye detection was limited in terms of spatial resolution. In the case of hyperspectral sensor mounted on manned aircraft, the spectral resolution was the highest, but this was also somewhat limited in terms of operability. From this simulation approach, multi-platform integrated observation was able to confirm that time,space and spectral resolution could be significantly improved. In the future, if this study results are linked to coastal numerical models, it will be possible to predict the transport and diffusion of contaminants, and it is expected that it can contribute to improving model accuracy by using them as input and verification data of the numerical models.
