Many human, roadway, and vehicle factors affect vehicle-pedestrian crashes. Especially, the roadway factors are easily defined and suitable for suggesting countermeasures. The characteristics of the road network are one of the roadway factors. The road network significantly influences behaviors and conflicts of drivers and pedestrians. A metropolitan city such as Seoul contains various types of road networks, and crash prevention strategy considering characteristics of the road network is required. In this study, we analyze the effects of road networks on vehicle-pedestrian crashes. In the study, high order road ratio, intersection ratio, high-low intersection ratio are considered as road network variables. Using Geographically Weighted Poisson Regression, crash frequencies in Dongs of Seoul are analyzed based on the road network variable as well as socioeconomic variables. As a result, Dongs are grouped by coefficient signs, and each group is suggested about improvement directions considering conflict situations.

The objective of this study was to investigate the relationship among the variables and effects of depression and physical activity on fatigue in the elderly with chronic disease. A descriptive research design was employed in this study. In total, 500 elderly patients diagnosed with chronic disease were selected from 3 medical centers for the study. The measurements were used to examine their general characteristics, fatigue, depression, and physical activity. To analyze the data, statistical analyses, including ANOVA, t-test, Scheffe's test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and hierarchical regression analysis, were conducted for the analysis of the data. The results indicated that the age, gender, and educational level in the first step model explained 6% of the effect on fatigue among the elderly with chronic disease. In addition, depression and physical activity in the second step model explained 16% of the effect on fatigue. These findings demonstrate the significance of (considering) depression and physical activity related to care plans when developing health-programs for decreasing fatigue and planning intervention strategies.
This paper intends to find the determinants of the occupational aspirations of college students in Korea. According to Wisconsin model, the occupational aspiration of youth has a statistically significant influence on his or her actual education level and occupation choice implying that the more motivated with high-level occupational aspiration will obtain the higher level of occupation. The analysis for this study is based on the survey of undergraduate students' perception, attitude and lifestyle in Korea 2004, which was conducted against 1,947 respondents, and multiple regression model was utilized. The dependent variable for occupational aspirations was measured by the Standard International Occupational Prestige Scale (SIOPS) of Donald J. Treiman. Independent variables include social capital and cultural capital as well as demographic variables, socio-economic status, and human capital variables. Social capital variable was measured by the position generator scale of Nan Lin and Mary Dumin, and cultural capital variable was done to our original index. This study shows that social and cultural capitals are factors having significant influence on occupational aspiration, in addition to the well-known factors such as gender, human capital and the occupation of father.

This paper examined the U-shape curvilinear relationship between team level conflict management and individual level turnover intention by using exit-voice theory, bandwagon effect, and social loafing theory. In addition to the non-linear relationship between team-level conflict management and individual-level turnover intentions, we also examined how trust in leaders has a moderating effect on this relationship. The samples were collected from a South Korean manufacturing company with 331 team members from 48 teams and items were measured twice to avoid common method biases. The intercepts-as-outcomes model of hierarchical linear modelling was conducted to verify the hypothesis. Results supported the cross-level curvilinear hypothesis which indicated that employees' turnover intention sharply decreased if the activeness of group conflict management was small and increases slightly, but this tendency moderated as activeness increases. After passing the lowest point, their turnover intention increased in the end. However, the moderation effect of trust in leader on this relationship was not statistically significant and hypothesis 2 was rejected. This paper explained the effects of group dynamics of conflict management on individual turnover intention. Such evidence may elucidate the importance of managing the social loafing behavior on conflict management process. This paper examined the sequential, multi-level, and curvilinear relationship between conflict management and turnover intention. Organizations and managers will benefit from avoiding the human resource loss by managing the conflict management process.

This study examined the factors influencing the burnout of correctional workers via a survey conducted in February 2018 for the employees working at the Korea Rehabilitation Agency. The final analysis used data from 290 survey responses. In order to investigate the factors affecting burnout, personal and job-related characteristics, job stress, and interpersonal stress factors were analysed. For the analysis, Baslach burnout scale, Korean occupational stress scale (KOSS), Korean interpersonal relationship stress (KIRS), descriptive analysis, correlation analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis were all used. The correlation analysis showed statistically significant relationships between the factors(p<.01). From the regression analysis results, the influences of job stress (job demand ${\beta}=.308$, p<.001, degree of autonomy ${\beta}=.124$, p<.001, relationship conflict ${\beta}=.169$, p<.001) and interpersonal stress (relationships with supervisors ${\beta}=.402$, p<.001, relationships with clients ${\beta}=.155$, p<.01) were stronger than job-related characteristics (employment type, working hours, working years) and personal characteristics (gender ${\beta}=.173$, p<.01). Although personal and job-related characteristics influence the workers' burnout, levels of job stress and interpersonal stress affect burnout levels more strongly. Based on the study results, further study and suggestions for reducing the burnout of the correctional workers were discussed.

This study was conducted to investigate the factors influencing burnout of nurses in long-term care hospitals based on the expanded JD-R model (Xanthopoulou et al, 2007). Participants were 167 nurses who worked in long-term care hospitals. The instruments used in this study were the Maslach Burnout Inventory, Copenhagen Psycho-social Questionnaire version II, Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale and the instrument developed by Thomas and Ganster (1995). Data were collected from August 25 to September 6, 2018 and analyzed based on frequency, t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and hierarchical regression using the SPSS WIN 23.0 program. The results were as follows: Nurses' burnout in long-term care hospitals was positively correlated with job demands (r=.24, p=.002) and negatively correlated with resilience (r=-.43, p<.001) and social support (r=-.41, p<.001). Factors influencing the level of burnout were resilience (${\beta}=-.28$, p<.001), social support (${\beta}=-.20$, p=.016), and job demands (${\beta}=.17$, p=.016) ), which together explained 32.0% of the total variance in burnout. Therefore, we strongly recommend interventions that reduce job demands and enhance resilience and social support to prevent and reduce the burnout of nurses in long-term care hospitals.
The purposes of this study were to investigate the major determinants influencing on health promoting behaviors(HPB) of the elderly living in Seoul. The conceptual framework of the study was Pender's health promoting model and the ecological perspectives. The study was conducted with 495 elderly persons whom 60 years old. For the analysis of data, descriptive statistics and hierarchical regression were used for the statistical analysis with SPSS program. The results were as following: 1) The mean score of the HPB was 3.11(SD=0.41). 2) Hierarchical regression analysis found that ModelIV accounted for 55.7% of the variance in HPB. 3) The Major determinants on HPB among the elderly persons were prior related perceived benefits of action, social support, perceived self-efficacy, community environment, perceived health status, education, and age. In conclusions, first, we should develop to various levels of educational and supportive programs for the HPB among the elderly persons. Second, we should examine more with environment, the accessibility to senior welfare agencies. Third, we should be organized the self-help groups for the elderly persons to improve health promoting behaviors. Fourth, the government should established more secure environment for the HPB, and find better solutions that are provided by various social welfare agencies connected with the coordination of the services in the local communities. Finally, we should develop professional education training programs of the HPB for the practitioners in the field of Gerontological Social Work.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the performance of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure(VDI) adoption. VDI performance was measured by IS manager (system quality, security, and managerial operation) and business user (usability, access, and user satisfaction). The survey questionnaires were developed for measuring VDI performance. 84 data samples were collected from the companies that had adopted cloud-based VDI. This research model was verified by Smart-PLS and SPSS. The research findings were as follows: First, the companies using VDI experienced actual performance, but they did not attain their expectation. Second, as results of comparing between IS managers and business users, IS administrators had considerably higher performance than business users, which indicates that there were big differences in performance perception among users. Compared with prior research such as technical trend, system construction, and performance improvement, this study has the following implications. First, by comparing the expected performance with the actual performance of the companies that have implemented and operating VDI, it was suggested how a company that wants to adopt VDI can manage the expectation level of VDI and achieve higher actual performance. Second, because the perception of VDI performance differs between business users and system managers, it is meaningful that a fair evaluation of VDI performance requires a balanced consideration of business users and system managers.

The purpose of this study was to identify the influence of consumption value on healthy functional food choice. Also, this study explored the role of health motivation, health concern, and food involvement as a moderating variable in the relationship between consumption value and healthy functional food choice. A total of 281 responses were collected using on-site survey (response rate 96.0%) from college students in Daegu, Gyeoungbuk Province. The questionnaire contained questions on consumption value, health motivation, health concern, food involvement, and purchasing intention of healthy functional food. The respondents rated the items using a 5-point scale from 1 (strongly disagree) to 5 (strongly agree). According to the confirmatory factor analysis, item evaluating using factor loading resulted in the retention of 25 consumption value items loading on seven factors, four health motivation items loading one factor, six health concern items loading on one factor, and four food involvement items loading on one factor with an internal consistency. Results of stepwise regression found that social value-I, emotional, functional, epistemic, and conditional values among consumption value determined the purchasing intention of healthy functional food. Results of hierarchical regression showed that health concern had a positive effect on the relationship between social value-I and purchasing intention of healthy functional food.
The present study sought to capture day-to-day fluctuation of the daily happiness among Korean urban older adults and to examine whether the within person fluctuation of daily happiness is explained by the social and physical activities the older adults experience each day. We also examined whether the within person association between daily social, physical activities and the daily happiness varies by individual characteristics(i.e. gender, age, educational level and health). In addition, we explored the relationships between the level and fluctuation of daily happiness and the level of global happiness. The data was collected by multi-method approach, which includes general survey, daily diary method and collection of physical activity data through the activity monitors. In total, 175 urban older adults participated for seven days of daily diary survey. The data about the number of steps and the time spent on sedentary activities, light intensity physical activities and moderate to vigorous intensity physical activities were also collected during the same period from 16 sub-samples using activity monitors. Hierarchical linear modeling was applied for the analysis. The results were as below. First, the level of happiness of older adults fluctuated during a week, and the patterns of fluctuation varied by the gender and the health. Second, socializing with their children and friends elevated their levels of happiness. Also the impact of contacts with siblings on the level of daily happiness was greater for the unhealthy group compare to the healthy group. Third, older adults were happier on the days when they walked more, but the level of daily happiness decreased on the days when they spent longer time for low intensity physical activities. Lastly, the higher level of daily happiness were related to the higher level of global happiness, but the degree of fluctuation of daily happiness was not related to the level of global happiness. The implications of these results and suggestions for future research are discussed.
