Multi Remote Control of Ship's Emergency Lighting Power Supply (선박 비상조명 전원장치의 다중 원격제어)

  • This paper describes the improvement of power control characteristics of ship's emergency lighting power supply(SELPS), by which electric power is controlled extensively, and power ON-OFF is controlled and system parameter monitored in remote distance by PC serial communication. Proposed system is composed of step-down converter(SDC), emergency power supply circuit(EPSC), half bridge(HB) inverter, fluorescent lamp(FL) starting circuit, microprocessor control and multi communication circuit. Experimental works confirm that relative system stops when over current is detected and speedy and stable emergency power is supplied when main power source cut-off, and controls input power up to 35[$\%$] by adjusting pulse frequency of the HB inverter, and ON-OFF control of multiple SELS, real time transmission and monitor of parameters as to voltage, current, and power values are performed appropriately by PC communication.

  • The energy storage system is actively used as the widespread of smart grid. In the case of large scale EES, it can be efficiently controlled linked with BEMS or BAS. But, in the case of EES installed in a small sized household, it needs the help of the remote control system because it lacks the expert for controlling and operating of EES. In addition, in the case when the solar energy generation and EES are installed at the same time, a small sized EMS which can be efficiently controlled depending on the solar energy generation or electric power load is needed. In this paper, the EMS which can efficiently control the solar power generation as well as EES installed in a small sized household is implemented and its usefulness is verified through some experimental studies.

  • In this paper, we propose G-Robot framework implemented with the fusion technology called RITS(Robot Technology & Information Technology System) for robot control and remote monitoring using the mobile phone. In our implemented system, the mobile phone mounted on the robot controls the robot and sends the images to the mobile phone of the user. We can monitor surrounding area of the robot with mobile phone and control the movement of the robot by sending the data between mobile-phones. Also, if the predefined situation occurs to the robot, the mobile phone on the robot sends the data to the mobile-phone of the user. From the experimental result, we can conclude that it's possible to control the robot and monitor surrounding area of the robot in real time in the region where the 3G(Generation) communication is possible. In addition, we can control the robot using the bluetooth instead of the mobile phone communication if the robot is in visual range.

  • When performing experiments in indoor and outdoor environment, we need a system that monitors a volunteer to prevent dangerous situations and efficiently manages the data in real time. We developed a guidance device for visually impaired person that guides the user to walk safely to the destination in the previous study. We set a POI (Point of Interest) of a specific location indoors and outdoors and tracks the user's position and navigate the walking path using artificial markers and ZigBee modules as landmark. In addition, we develop path finding algorithm to be used for navigation in the guidance device. In the test bed, the volunteers are exposed to dangerous situations and can be an accident due to malfunction of the device since they are visually impaired person or normal person wearing a eye patch. Therefore the device requires a system that remotely monitors the volunteer wearing guidance device and manages indoor or outdoor a lot of map data. In this paper, we introduce a managing system that monitors the volunteers remotely and handles map data efficiently. We implement a management system which can monitor the volunteer in order to prevent a hazardous situation and effectively manage large amounts of data. In addition, we verified the effectiveness of the proposed system through various experiments.

A New Experimental Environment for International High Bandwidth Data Transfer (국제간 고대역 데이터 전송을 위한 새로운 실험 환경)

  • In this paper, we propose an experimental environment which can be accessed by remote users, where they can select their preferred operating system, and they can use the Power Controllable systems with full permission to access them. The goal of the proposed systems is to provide an experimental environment for the users to join the international experiment that needs high bandwidth network. In order to do that, we provide high performance systems that is directly connected to back-bone network, and we also provide the ability of users to install any application on various operating system. In addition, we provide the ability to keep continuing the system environment of users in shared system environment. We will show how the proposed systems are useful for the users in terms of the user-efficiency to utilize the environment and the response time for the set-up time. This new proposed environments will provide a new experimental method for the scientists who works for international collaborative experimental researches.

An experimental study on adjusting mechanism of Remote Center Compliance for assembly robots with shear stress control of Elastomer Shear Pads(ESP) (ESP의 전단 변형을 이용한 원격 순응 중심 장치의 순응 중심 조절 방법에 관한 실험적 고찰)

  • In this paper, an experimental study is performed to adjust position of compliance center of Elastomer Shear Pad Remote Center Compliance (ESP RCC) device, which is used on precise peg in hole process. In the study, variation of the lateral/axial stiffness of the ESP is proposed as a control parameter to adjust the position of compliance center of the ESP RCC. The variation of the stiffness of the ESP is achieved by controlling the shear stress of the ESP. To control the shear stress of the ESP, position of top side of the ESP is changed while remaining bottom side of the ESP is fixed on the RCC plate. To evaluate effect of the proposed idea, stiffness variations of the ESP on various shear stresses are measured, and variation of the compliance center is measured with the ESP RCC that can control the position of compliance center by using the shear stress. The measured data shows unique characteristics that have not been shown in other types of ESP VRCCs.

  • 본 연구에서는 현재 주로 사용하고 있는 광파장인 980nm, 1310nm, 1480nm, 1550nm 에 대한 안정화된 광파워를 갖는 광원개발이다. 내부에 온도안정화와, 자체 광파워 피드벡에 의한 안정화 회로를 내장하고 있으며, 독립적 혹은 동시적으로 4 개의 광파장을 출력할 수 있도록 구성되어있다. 또한 0$\sim$ -7dBm 사이의 광파워를 0.5dB 단위로 가변시킬 수 있으며, +-0.05dB 이내의 안정성을 갖는다. 또한 RS-232 시리얼 통신으로 PC 와 인터페이스가 가능하며, 광출력 상태를 모니터링하거나 원격으로 광파워를 제어할 수 있도록 구성하였다. 온도범위는 +-0.5도 이내에서 제어가 가능하며, 이러한 부분으로 구성된 4 파장 광원은 +-0.05dB 이내에서 안정화된 광을 출력할 수 있게 되었다. 본 연구 개발을 수행한 결과 레이져 다이오드의 안정화에 대한 확실한 이론적 및 실험적인 결과를 얻게 되었으며, 현재 확산되고 있는 광통신 시장에서 광통신 부품, 광케이블, 통신망 등에서 각종 소자 및 선로의 광학적 특성을 측정하는데 필수적으로 이용될 것이다.

A Study on the Obstacle-Avoidance Walking Algorithm of a Biped Robot (이족보행로봇의 장애물극복 보행알고리즘에 관한 연구)

  • In the paper, an intelligent biped walking robot that can overcome the obstacle is developed. Walking algorithms are designed based on the analysis of the human's manner of walking. Infrared sensors are used to detect the obstacles in the working environment and the remote controller of the biped robot use a RF module. The experiment results show that the developed biped walking robot can perform the stable static walking, attention walking, rotation and side stepping to avoid the obstacle, and hurdling the obstacle using the distance correction algorithm that is designed based on the distance information between the biped robot and the obstacle.

  • This paper suggests a new object-oriented methodology, ESBD(Evolutionary Simulation Based Design), for the development of an automated manufacturing system in shipbuilding. The target system, AHMS(Automated Hull-piece Manufacturing System), is a virtualized and distributed system controlling the manufacturing processes of storing, surface-pretreatment, cutting, 1st and 2nd curvature generation of material plates. The control and product-flow simulation is applied for the real-time product monitoring and product data management(PDM). The prototype system of AHMS also outlines the layout of the new automated factory.

  • 초고속 전기정보의 전송 시대와 U-정보전자시대에 응용하는 최신 정보기기와 의료기기 및 군사정보의 실시간 전송을 위하여 많은 실시간 알고리즘과 모델링의 연구가 필수적이다. 또한 원격지에 많은 전기 및 전력정보를 비선형적 특성이 있는 환경하에서도 정보의 오차가 없이 실시간으로 전송하는 기술은 현대 정보사회에서 해결해야 할 매우 중요한 요소중에 하나이다. 이러한 내용으로 수행되어지는 신경회로망을 이용한 실시간 모델링을 제안하고자 한다. 이와 관련한 일반적인 방법으로 역전파 학습 알고리즘을 들 수 있다. 파라미터에도 덜 민감하며, 특히 온라인으로 인식과 제어가 가능하도록 수렴속도를 향상 시켜야하는 새로운 모델의 필요성이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 신경회로망이 가지고 있는 여러 단점들을 개선하고자 새로운 학습 알고리즘과 새로운 구조의 신경회로망을 제시한다. 또한 제시한 알고리즘을 이용하여 불규칙적 시스템 모델망과 다양한 센서 모델링 등에 연결하여 다양한 실험을 수행하여 그 결과를 보여 실시간 특성을 갖는 것을 입증해 보였다.
