  • Auto Pilot is the system which move automatically the vessel through locating operation mode to automatic after entering operating course using a electronic chart or plotter. And water jet is the a propulsion system that make a power to push the vessel through spouting the accelerated water which is absorbed by the hole in the bottom of vessel. The water jet receive the effect of the depth of water lowly, it's acceleration efficiency is higher under high speed and have an advantage on vibrating and floating sound, so it's demand is increasing as new propulsion system. However, the signal systems of auto pilot and water jet are different, we need the system to interface between each system. We designed the interface that efficiently digital feed back control embedded module between auto pilot and water jet system in this paper.

Aeromechanical stability analysis and control of helicopter rotor blades (헬리콥터 회전날개깃의 안정성 해석과 제어)

  • The rotor blade is modeled using a composite box beam with arbitrary wall. The active constrained damping layers are bonded to the upper and lower surfaces of the box beam to provide active and passive damping. A finite element model, based on a hybrid displacement theory, is used in the structural analysis. The theory is capable of accurately capturing the transverse shear effects in the composite primary structure, the viscoelastic and the piezoelectric layers within the ACLs. A reduced order model is derived based on the Hankel singular value. A linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG) controller is designed based on the reduced order model and the available measurement output. However, the LQG control system fails to stabilize the perturbed system although it shows good control performance at the nominal operating condition. To improve the robust stability of LQG controller, the loop transfer recovery (LTR) method is applied. Numerical results show that the proposed controller significantly improves rotor aeromechanical stability and suppresses rotor response over large variations in rotating speed by increasing lead-lag modal damping in the coupled rotor-body system.

Trend Analyses of B777 FLCH Usage Beyond FAF Events (B777 항공기 Final Approach Fix(FAF) 이후 Flight Level Change(FLCH) 사용 이벤트 경향성 분석)

  • The main causes of the July 2013 OZ 214 accident were poorly performed approach and the failure to recognize the autothrottle in the HOLD position which the automated speed control was not provided. The pilots late decision for go-around was also a critical factor leading to the accident. The B777 POM restricts the use of FLCH mode beyond the FAF. This research utilized the QAR data of an airline's B777 fleet in the period of two years where 44 cases were found. In many cases, the FLCH mode was used for rapid descent from an higher than normal situation. In addition, in the base turn, continuous use of FLCH mode even when the path was below the glide path were observed. Airports with elevation above 500 ft MSL had a higher rate of occurrence. In this research, the proper descent planning and vertical path monitoring, and the adherence to the limitation set in the manuals and the stabilized approach criteria were re-emphasized as mitigation to reduce event occurences.

  • Surveillance is an enabler of safety with respect to aircraft separation and as a consequence capacity and efficiency with respect to aircraft operations. The new emerging technology among modern civil aviation surveillance is Multilateration (MLAT) which would affect on the surveillance capacity with both side of surveillance signal and operational properties. Multilateration system is needed to receive the signal which must reach at least 3 ground receivers simultaneously and has the effect that will have on with the ultimate accuracy. In this paper, the principle and the system configuration are reviewed. And its benefit of development is considered with use in situations where it is difficult to locate tranditional radar. This MLAT requires no additional avionics equipment to supply service with more accurate and less expensive. And it is able to enhance performance that meets international standards and extend the investment of air navigation service providers with reducing environmental impact by utilizing a small footprint on existing structures. Finally, it can be added to meet a wide range of coverage requirements and future surveillance needs.

  • 무인잠수정이 원하는 경로를 추종할 수 있도록 안정적인 운항제어를 수행하기 위해서는 잠수정의 동역학적 특성을 정확히 파악하는 것이 필요하다. 수중에서 거동하는 무인잠수정의 동역학적 특성은 제어입력뿐만 아니라 유체력계수에 의해 주로 결정되므로, 이러한 계수값을 정확하게 아는 것이 중요한 요소라 할 수 있다. 일반적으로 유체력계수는 PMM 시험과 같은 실험적 방법을 통하여 얻게 되지만 실험방법의 어려움과 실험장비들의 부정확성으로 인한 오차에 의하여, 얻어진 값들의 신뢰성이 많이 저하된다. 계수값들을 구할 수 있는 다른 방법으로는, 확장칼만필터 등과 같은 모델기반 추정 알고리즘을 통하여 유체력계수를 추정하는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 확장칼만필터를 이용하여 유체력계수를 추정하도록 하였으며, 설계된 추정 알고리즘의 성능을 검증하기 위하여 기존에 수행된 PMM 시험에 의해 얻어진 유체력계수의 실험값과 비교 분석하였다. 또한 본 논문에서는 만타형 무인잠수정을 이용하여 원하는 경로를 추종할 수 있도록, 추정된 유체력계수를 사용하여 수심제어 및 방향제어를 위한 슬라이딩 모드 제어기를 설계하였으며, 충분한 정확도를 가지고 원하는 경로를 추종함을 시뮬레이션을 통해 확인하였다.

Development of a Framework to Estimate the EEOI of a Ship Considering the Hydrodynamic Characteristics and Engine Mode (선박의 유체동역학 특성 및 엔진 모드를 고려한 에너지효율운항지수 추정 프레임워크 개발)

  • Since IMO has discussed the effectuation of the EEDI, EEOI and SEEMP, each country, shipping company, shipbuilding company and research institute have been requested to prepare the design, construction and operation of the efficient ship. From the shipbuilding company's point of view, it was necessary to develop a method based on the maneuvering equations of motion in a bid to estimate the EEOI considering the design, model test results and the calculation results of the ship. In this paper, the estimation method of RPM, power and fuel consumption proposed in the previous research was developed to construct a framework that helps in the estimation of the EEOI. It was possible to estimate the EEOI from the estimated ship speed (distance), LNG cargo mass, fuel consumptions and emission factors according to the type of fuel. The rapid increase of the evaluated EEOI was observed when the LNGC with ME-GI engine executing the course changed with a large difference. This prompted the comparison of the type of fuel on the estimated EEOI by considering HFO, LNG fuel and MGO properties.

Battery-loaded power management algorithm of electric propulsion ship based on power load and state learning model (전력 부하와 학습모델 기반의 전기추진선박의 배터리 연동 전력관리 알고리즘)

  • In line with the current era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, it is necessary to prepare for the future by integrating AI elements in the ship sector. In addition, it is necessary to respond to this in the field of power management for the appearance of autonomous ships. In this study, we propose a battery-linked electric propulsion system (BLEPS) algorithm using machine learning's DNN. For the experiment, we learned the pattern of ship power consumption for each operation mode based on the ship data through LabView and derived the battery status through Python to check the flexibility of the generator and battery interlocking. As a result of the experiment, the low load operation of the generator was reduced through charging and discharging of the battery, and economic efficiency and reliability were confirmed by reducing the fuel consumption of 1% of LNG.

  • The marine electronic system for safe navigation such as ECDIS has been contributing to increase the safety of navigation, decreasing the mariner's load of navigation. The ECDIS should be developed and approved by international standard of IMO for performance standard and IEC for type-approval method and required results. However, these standards have some ambiguities for us not to directly adopt them for real approval system, so we should analyze them for more clear meaning and prepare our own detail standard for type-approval system. The first thing to do for the goal of this research was to analyze the standard in detail and make ambiguity be cleared in our own standards, considering each test item in view of test methodology. For the result of analysis we could develop more evident and detail type-approval standard for each test item with test technology needed. Especially, we developed the colour differentiation test process of ECDIS monitor, which include the colour differentiation formula derived from CIE colour scheme. Several test items require sensor informations of navigation equipment compatible with IEC 61162. We also developed the signal simulator for general messages of IEC 61162 that must be provided. Additionally, the type-approval processes and standards for Back-up arrangement and RCDS mode were developed.

멤브레인형 LNG선의 진동에 관한 고찰

  • 이 연구의 목적은 당사에서 제작한 멤브레인형 $130,000M^3$$135,000M^3$ LNG 운반선의 진동특성을 파악하고, 거주구역의 진동수준을 예측하기 위함이다. 우선 공진 회피의 관점에서 최적의 프로펠러를 선택하기 위해 간단한 계산을 수행한 후, 주변 해수를 고려한 선박 전체를 모델링하여 3차원 유한요소해석을 수행한다. 이 계산은 보다 정확한 고유진동수를 결정하고, 프로펠러 기진의 주파수 범위에서 관련된 모드 형상을 결정하며, 선박 거주구에서 기대되는 진동수준은 잘 예측할 수 있다. 다음으로 선박이 진수되고 전체구조가 조립된 후 안벽에서 불평형 가진기를 이용해 가진기테스트를 실시하고, 해상시운전 중에도 동일한 방법으로 테스트를 실시한다. 시험은 고유진동수의 항으로 선박의 실제진동응답과 계산결과와의 좋은 비교를 가능하게 한다. 추가적으로 실제 엔진을 구동해 RPM을 최저에서 최고까지 천천히 변경하면서 실제 운항 중 진동응답을 계측함으로서 고유진동수를 예측하여 해석결과 및 가진기 시험결과와 비교한다.

항해용 레이더 펄스변화와 파랑계측의 연관성

  • 항해용 X-band 레이더는 물표탐지를 통한 안전한 항해를 목적으로 널리 사용되고 있다. 해당 목적을 위해서는 노이즈로 간주되는 해면반사파(sea clutter)신호는 제거하여 사용하지만, 본 연구에서는 노이즈로 간주되는 해면반사파 신호를 활용하여 파랑에 대한 정보(파고, 파주기, 파향 등)를 파악하는데 활용하였다. 레이더에서 방출되는 전자기파는 펄스의 길이에 의해 탐지할 수 있는 영역이 제한되어 있다. 펄스의 길이가 짧을수록 짧은 주기의 파랑을 계측할 수 있다는 장점이 있지만, 거리의 제약으로 인하여 대형선박의 실 운항시에는 활용하기 어려운 현실적인 딜레마가 있다. 본 연구에서는 삼성중공업, 오션알앤디가 개발한 WaveFinder 시스템을 이용하여 기존 short pulse 모드 뿐만아니라 midium pulse 에서의 활용 가능성을 실제 시운전을 통해 확인하였다.
