The Mutual Authentication and Operation Methodology for an Enhanced Security and Operation of the IDL (국제통용운전면허증의 보안성과 운용성 강화를 위한 상호인증 및 운용 기법에 관한연구)

  • In the modern world, where the number of people moving from country to country is sharply increasing, domestic and international driver's licenses are easily fabricated or forged, and distinguishing if a driver's license is legitimate or not is often a difficult task. Furthermore, this would require different countries to mutually share and administer the driving records of individuals, making it a much more complex task (Added to it is the complicated matter of countries having to mutually share and administer the driving records of individuals.) However, the authenticity and security of a driver's license has become the first priority since driver's licenses are also used as identification cards in most countries, thus requiring measures to prevent inappropriate uses arising from theft and embezzlement. In this paper, we propose the mutual authentication mechanism which, can provide enhanced security and efficient operation that is administration of personal information contained within ISO Compliant Driving licence(IDL).

Algebraic Formal Specification and Formal Validation of the Standard and an Implementation of the OSPF Protocol (OSPF Protocol 표준 및 구현의 대수 정형적 명세 및 정형적 검증)

  • The OSPF protocol is the most widely used Interior Gateway Routing Protocol. Therefore, for the reliability of behavior of gigabit swiching routers, it is essential to guarantee the interoperability and the safety of the OSPF protocol. In this paper, we analyze the standard document of the OSPF protocol, so that we provide a formal specification that specifies the protocol behaviors by detailed design level using the algebraic formal method. By referring available source codes of the OSPF protocol, we supplement the formal specification to express more detailed behaviors that is not specified definitely in the standard. We also formally verify the interoperability and the safety of the protocol state machine of the specification. By showing that the formal specification specify all of the states and the transition events that appear in the standard document of the OSPF protocol, we prove that the state machine has the completeness, and prove it has the interoperability. To prove that the specification of the protocol has the safety, we formally verify the reachability, the liveness, the livelock-free property, and the deadlock-free property. As a result, we prove the protocol has the consistency. The specification and the validation are also effective to the OSPF Version 3 that inherit the protocol mechanism of the OSPF Version 2.

  • This study is safety assessment standard for advanced surface movement guidance control system (A-SMGCS) and case study of the past research project. A-SMGCS providing routing, guidance and surveillance for the control of aircraft and vehicles in order to maintain the declared surface movement rate under all weather conditions within the aerodrome visibility operational level while maintaining the required level of safety. Recently, in korea and europe are developing A-SMGCS system for the safety control of the airport movement area. In safety oriented industry such as aviation that it is necessary to verify and ensure for operating system. In this case study, analysis of safety assessment standard for verified A-SMGCS target level of safety (TLS) and previous developed A-SMGCS research project.

  • As the amount of radioactive waste and related information to be managed are increasing, some organizations are trying or planning to computerize the management on radioactive waste. When we consider that information on safe management of radioactive waste should be used In association with national radioactive waste management project, standardization of data form and its protocol is required. Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety(KINS) will establish and operate nationwide integrated database in order to effectively manage a large amount of information on national radioactive waste. This database allows not only to trace and manage the trend of radioactive waste occurrence and in storage but also to produce reliable analysis results for the quantity accumulated. Consequently, we can provide necessary information for national radioactive waste management policy and related industry's planing. This study explains the database design which is the essential element for information management.

  • Avionics electronic equipment refers to the electronic equipment installed on an aircraft. Failure of avionics equipment can have a significant impact on aircraft operations as well as threaten the safety of pilots and passengers. Therefore, avionics electronic equipment is required to have higher reliability and safety than electronic equipment used for other purposes. Avionics equipment must consider various component selection and system design to meet reliability and safety-related requirements from the initial design stage. In this paper, we describe safety, reliability performance analysis method of avionics equipment, and introduce various design improvement methods that can be performed to meet safety requirement performance. Finally, the safety performance of the improved avionics equipment was reanalyzed and compared with the value before the improvement, the validity of the proposed design change was verified.

  • This paper describes the checking results and some problems of guard lamps installed in the field. The guard lamp providing night security for people is installed outdoors and exposed to the natural factors causing secular ageing and the people's vandalism, etc., thus it is prone to get troubles in function. In fact, the guard lamps has been left without considering the fundamental measures in the legislative system in spite of the loss of lives due to the electric shock accidents repetitively taking place every year. This study arouses people's attention to the risk due to the lack of management and maintenance of the guard lamp by investigating the recent technology and the actual operating conditions and some problems and countermeasures were ultimately deduced. In this process, we reflected on the various opinions through fieldwork and had a couple of consultations with field staffs, manufacturers concerned and active officers with local autonomous entities.

  • In the offshore plant industry, the Access service basket for aerial work is used of for various business purposes. However, various types of safety accidents continue to occur in operating these system. In the case of high-capacity workstations currently in use, workers are exposed to various risks in determining and operating the load capacity, proximity distance, and direction of operation. In this paper, to solve this problem, we develop a device that incorporates IoT-based monitoring and crash alarm systems into aerial work systems. The developed device was tested in the presence of experts to ensure reliability of the device, which allows workers and managers to easily check the operation status and thereby prevent safety accidents in advance.

Development Plan for the Consequence Management in Response to Large-Scale Wildfire Disasters Using Air Force Transport Aircraft (C-130) (공군 수송기(C-130)를 활용한 대형산불 재난 대응 시 사후관리(CM) 발전방안)

  • Purpose: Recently, large-scale forest fires caused by climate change, natural disasters, and human factors have been increasing every year in the East Coast and Taebaek Mountains region. Although forest fire extinguishing using helicopters is currently increasing, the need to introduce air force transport aircraft has continued to be raised due to the importance of early fire extinguishment to respond to large forest fires and the difficulty of extinguishing forest fires between sheep. This study seeks to present a plan for developing a post-fire management system for several aspects - achieving operational objectives, overcoming the operating environment, selecting a staging area, and efficient operation measures - to efficiently perform forest fire extinguishing missions using Air Force transport aircraft. Method: Based on literature research on forest fire extinguishing, forest fire extinguishing experiments using fixed-wing aircraft, and the operation status and operation method of forest fire extinguishing helicopters, the pros and cons of helicopter operation and the effects of large forest fire extinguishing using a large transport aircraft (C-130) Analyze the effectiveness of operation through analysis. Results: When extinguishing a large forest fire, an effective CM (Consequence Management) application plan was derived, including effective operation, control, command system, dispatch request, and forest fire extinguishment when integrating helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft (C-130). Conclusion: The application of the concept of CM (Consequence Management) is partially applied to some areas of chemical, biological, and radiological (CBRNE) protection in Korea, but efficient operation, control, and command systems are established when integrated operation of helicopters and large aircraft (C-130) in forest fire extinguishment. the concept of CM (Consequence Management), which is operated in advanced countries, was applied for safety management, dispatch requests, and forest fire extinguishing, thereby contributing to the establishment of a more advanced disaster and post-disaster management system.

  • This paper develops scenarios to evaluate the safety performance of Unmanned Ground Vehicle on military circumstances. The scenarios were created using Pegasus Project 6-layer format. These scenarios consist of straight road, curved road, merging road and crossroad. We adapt these scenarios to unpaved road. The characteristics of unpaved roads were divided into roughness, friction coefficient and road frequency. This adaption is validated via computer simulation. We observe the scan lines of vehicle become tangled of the straight road that make the cognitive abilities of the vehicle low and the lane-keeping is unable when vehicles entering curved off-roads over 40 km/h. The developed scenarios will contribute to enhancing stability from the perspective of introducing autonomous driving technology to Korean military.

  • 최근 인공지능의 급부상과 함께 서비스 로봇은 물론 산업용 로봇에 이르기까지 ICT 융합을 통한 HRI(Human Robot Interaction) 지능화가 가속화되고 있다. 제조, 물류, 공공장소, 가정 등 다양한 환경에서 인간과 가까이 공존하며 상호작용하는 지능로봇의 안전과 성능에 기반한 신뢰성 확보는 성장하는 로봇 시장에 중요한 이슈로 떠오르고 있다. 2014년 실내외에서 운용되는 개인지원로봇에 대한 기본 안전 요구 표준인 ISO 13482가 공표되고 유럽, 일본을 비롯한 세계시장은 국제 표준 에 기반한 서비스 로봇의 인증을 요구하고 있다. 이에 최근 국내 로봇 기업의 해외 시장 진출에 있어 가장 우선적으로 요구받고 있는 안전 요구조건과 검증에 필요한 위험 평가 프로세스를 소개하고 서비스 로봇의 안전 및 성능 평가 기술과 표준에 대하여 살펴본다.
