Two Aspects of the Game Playing Effect and Attitude toward Game Regulation :Focused on Game Genre (게임 플레이 효과의 양면성과 게임 규제 태도 연구 :게임 장르를 중심으로)

  • This study looks at the social implications of gaming disorder by considering the situation in Korea. Focusing on specificity of game genres, this study analyzed two aspects of the game playing effect-positive(cognitive needs) and negative(game addiction)-and suggested directions for game regulation policies and game addiction studies, since game playing effects are closely related to game regulatory policy. To analyze game effects and attitudes to regulations, this study performed regression analysis based on the online survey. Results show that game playing effects and attitudes toward game regulation differ based on the nature of game genres. While longer gaming increased the effect of addiction, it also increased cognitive needs. Playing roleplaying, Aeon of Strife, and strategy game genres(RAS), which are subject to game regulation, increased game addiction levels but simultaneously contributed to increased cognitive needs. While playing augmented reality genres positively affected cognitive needs, it also showed favorable attitudes to general game regulation.

Effects of the Need for Rehabilitation Services on the Daily Life Satisfaction of Returned-to-Work and Reemployed Injured Workers : Mediating Effects Self-Efficacy (원직장복귀 및 재취업 산재근로자의 재활서비스 욕구가 일상생활만족도에 미치는 영향 : 자기효능감의 매개효과)

  • This study aims at creating a daily life satisfaction improvement plan by using motivation for seeking need for rehabilitation services and self-efficacy in individuals who returned-to-work and reemployed injured workers. The subjects of this study were 2,642 returnees and 3,742 reemployed individuals who participated in the first to fifth year survey of the first cohort of the Panel Survey of Workers' Compensation Insurance. The analysis checked the mediating effect through the multiple regression analysis and bootstrapping. The result indicated the need for rehabilitation services had negative impact on self-efficacy and daily life satisfaction whereas self-efficacy had a positive effect on daily life satisfaction and played a mediating role between the need for rehabilitation services and daily life satisfaction. Based on these results, a need for the advancement of social psychological rehabilitation program and establishing an integrative rehabilitation process were identified.

A Need-awaring Multi-agent Approach to Nomadic Community Computing for Ad Hoc Need Identification and Group Formation (유목커뮤니티 컴퓨팅에서 임의적 욕구파악과 그룹형성을 위한 욕구인지 다중에이전트 접근법)

  • Recently, community computing has been proposed for group formation and group decision-making. However, legacy community computing systems do not support group need identification for ad hoc group formation, which would be one of key features of ubiquitous decision support systems and services. Hence, this paper aims to provide a multi-agent based methodology to enable nomadic community computing which supports ad hoc need identification and group formation. Focusing on supporting group decision-making of relatively small sized multiple individual in a community, the methodology copes with the following three characteristics: (1) ad hoc group formation, (2) context-aware group need identification and (3) using mobile devices working in- and out-doors. NAMA-US, an RFID-based prototype system has been developed to show the feasibility of the idea proposed in this paper.

The Relationship between physical exercise needs, exercise commitment and exercise addiction based on the degree of participation by health club members (헬스 참가자들의 참여정도에 따른 운동욕구와 운동몰입 및 운동중독의 관계)

  • The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between the physical exercise needs, exercise commitment and exercise addiction based on the degree of participation by health club members and furthermore to verify the suitability of the structural model of variables based on these relationships. The subjects for this study include adults aged over 20 years old who exercised for over 3 months in 2014 Random sampling of data from subjects at their convenient time and place known as the convenience sampling method was used to analyze a total of 151 surveys. The collected data was statistically processed using SPSS 18.0. The results of the analysis reached the following conclusions. Firstly, depending on the degree of participation of the health club member, a significant variation was perceived between physical exercise needs, exercise commitment and addiction. Secondly, physical exercise needs had a significant influence on exercise commitment. Thirdly, physical exercise needs had a significant influence on exercise addiction. Finally, exercise commitment had a significant influence on exercise addiction.

The impacts of social exclusion and the need to belong on the affective forecasting of social events (사회적 배척과 소속 욕구가 사회적 사건의 정서 예측에 미치는 영향)

  • The present study examined the intensity of affective forecasting and the size of affective forecasting errors of people who experienced social exclusion or those high in need to belong. In Particular, a series of studies was designed to explore the moderating role of the types of future events (i.e. social vs. non-social events) in the relationship between social exclusion, the need to belong and affective forecasting. Results indicated that participants who experienced social exclusion or be high in need to belong showed significantly extreme affective ratings on the future social events compared to the future non-social events. Additional results suggested that more social exclusion experiences or higher needs to belong did not affect to the affective ratings on the experienced social events, indicating greater affective forecasting errors of socially excluded people or people with higher need to belong. The implications and limitations of the results were also discussed.

A Big-Data Analysis on Older Adult's Health and Safety Issues (노인의 건강 및 안전문제에 대한 빅데이터 분석)

  • Currently, Korea is entering an aging society, causing the issues of older adults in a wide range of fields. This study focuses on the health and safety issues of the older adults. As a theoretical background, Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory was applied, and a new theory was established in connection with the physiological needs and safety needs of the 5 stages of desire in relation to the health and safety issues of the older adults. Health issues applying to physiological needs for the older adults are examined in detail in the body, perception and psychology areas, and safety accidents occurring indoors and outdoors are examined in relation to safety needs. Naver DataLab, a big data portal, shows that the number of bugs regarding health and safety of the older adults is steadily increasing. And through Google Trends, we can understand the interest setting up related search keyword about the older adults. According to the related search keywords, social part related to health in health issues is ranked high and kewords related to accident type in safety issues is ranked high. These findings will be an important basis data for research and solution to the issues of older adults.

  • A total of 84 questionnaires were analyzed for students with experience in entrepreneurship education in Cheonan-Asan, Chungnam province. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of the experience of founding education, the personal characteristics of university students, on intention to start a business. As a result, first, there was a correlation between the intention of incubation of college students and the intention of incubation. Significantly at the level. Second, education satisfaction, which is a subordinate factor of entrepreneurship education, did not have a significant effect on achievement desire and self-efficacy, which are subdomains of entrepreneurship intention. Third, creativity was found to have a significant effect on both the desire for achievement and self-efficacy of intention, and creativity showed explanatory power of .603 and 35.1% for R2. The value of .493 and R2 of creativity and self-efficacy are 25.5%.

Analysis of Relation between Safety Needs and Life Satisfaction of Security Safety System Users (경비안전시스템 이용자들의 안전욕구와 생활만족에 대한 관계 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the safety needs and life satisfaction of users of security system. The contents of the questionnaire consisted of "safety need, use satisfaction, life satisfaction". As a result of the analysis, Chronbach's alpha coefficient was calculated as 0.897 for safety needs, 0.888 for use satisfaction, and 0.887 for life satisfaction. The items were found to have internal consistency. In the validation of discriminant validity, both AVE and CR values were found to be 0.6 or more than the reference value of 0.8. The intuitiveness of the variables used in this study was found to be largely secured. As the hypothesis test result, the standardization factor was calculated as 0.993 for 'safety needs ⇨ use satisfaction' and 0.453 for 'use satisfaction ⇨ life satisfaction', and both hypotheses were positive. As a result of the verification, it was analyzed that the higher the user's safety needs, the higher the use satisfaction, and the higher the use satisfaction, the higher the life satisfaction.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the relationships among service quality, self-efficacy, achievement need, and satisfaction in internet shopping mall entrepreneurial education. In this research, service quality consists of four factors including curriculum(lecturer expertise, distinction, and diversity of curricula), type(theory-oriented and practice-oriented), and administration(operation, facility and networking). First, this study investigated how service quality affected both self-efficacy and achievement need, second analyzed how both self-efficacy and achievement need influenced the satisfaction in internet shopping mall entrepreneurial education. The data were obtained from a questionnaire handed out to a random sample of 129 individuals that Cafe 24 in progress in the shopping mall entrepreneurial education. With the information obtained, and after the scales validation process, a structural equation analysis has been conducted. The analysis results indicate that service quality affects both self-efficacy and achievement need. According to the analysis, first, expertise, distinction and operation affect self-efficacy, second both expertise and operation affect achievement need. In addition, the results show that self-efficacy and achievement need influenced the satisfaction of entrepreneurial education. Finally, based in the findings of this study, theoretical contribution and managerial implications are discussed.

The Effect of Achievement Needs and Entrepreneurship on the Start-up Intention: Focus on Mediation Role of Start-up Motivation (성취욕구와 창업가정신이 창업의지에 미치는 영향: 창업동기의 매개역할을 중심으로)

  • This study looked into entrepreneur-like psychological characteristics such as achievement needs and entrepreneurship including start-up motivation in order to discover factors that would affect start-up intention which can be referred to as an origin of start-up vitalization and to discuss causal relations among the factors. In other words, the study took a look into how both achievement needs and entrepreneurship would influence start-up intention as focusing on mediating roles of start-up motivation. To achieve the research goal, the study conducted an empirical analysis on a total of 181 samples of survey gathered from founders of these companies that had moved into a start-up support center. Findings of the analysis reported that first of all, achievement needs and entrepreneurship have positive effects on start-up motivation, and the study confirmed that the two variables work as antecedent variables of start-up motivation. Second of all, start-up motivation is significantly connected to start-up intention, and that definitely proved precedence relation following relation between the two variables. Third of all, mediating effects of start-up motivation on relations among start-up needs, entrepreneurship and start-up intention which are said to be cores of this study were observed. To sum up, the study learned that start-up motivation as a mediator contributes to how achievement needs and entrepreneurship would strengthen start-up intention. In conclusion, the study suggests that these entrepreneur-like psychological characteristics such as achievement needs, entrepreneurship and especially start-up motivation should be improved if anyone would like to increase start-up intention. Based on results presented above, the study offers theoretical and practical implications in relation to start-up intention.
