  • 최근 우리나라는 일반인들의 레저에 대한 관심이 고조되고 있고, 선진국형 해양레저에 대한 관심과 수요가 크게 증가하고 있는 실정이다. 특히, 해양레저의 꽃이라 할 수 있는 세일링요트 및 관련 장비 경우에는 대부분 전량 수입에 의존하고 있어 국산화 개발이 시급히 요구되고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 세일링요트 중에서 넓은 갑판면적 및 안정된 운항성능을 가지는 카타마란형 세일링요트의 선형설계와 형상에 따른 성능/특성 검증 위한 선형시험 등을 수행하여 국내에 적합한 카타마란형 세일링요트의 기초 자료를 정립하여 중소형조선소의 레저선박 관련 기술경쟁력 확보와 해양레저 활성화에 도움을 주고자 한다.

  • 여가활동 및 가족단위 관광활동의 증가로 인하여 해양관광활동에 대한 국민적 관심이 높아지면서 해양레저에 대한 수요가 증가하고 있으나 그에 따른 제반시설 구축이 현저히 적으며, 해양레저 활성화를 위한 인프라 구축 방안으로 추진 중인 마리나 육성계획이유휴시설 발생 및 중복개발로 인한 예산낭비가 우려되고 있어 국내 마리나 항만에 적합한 관리시스템 및 서비스 개발이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 요트의 운용상태 및 항해정보를 스마트기기 내장 S/W로 관리함과 동시에 이동통신망을 이용하여 마리나 관제시스템에 전송하고, 마리나 센터로부터 항해와 안전에 관한 다양한 정보를 제공받아 요트 사용자에게 알려줌으로 요트를 운항하는 사용자가 편리하고 안전하게 요트를 운용, 관리, 항해할 수 있도록 지원 가능한 스마트 기기 기반의 시스템을 설계하고자 한다.

  • 글로블 대형요트산업은 리먼사태 때 잠시 주춤했지만 여전히 고속성장하는 고부가가치산업으로, 이탈리아, 네덜란드 터키 등 유럽의 해양레저선진국이 거의 시장을 주도하고 있다. 우리나라의 경우 아직 대형요트를 건조한 실적은 전무하지만, 중소형조선소가 경제적 어려움을 겪는 현시점에서 국내 조선기술, 부품소재기술, ICT 등 관련기술수준을 감안한다면 진출해볼만한 신성장분야인 것은 분명하다. 이 연구에서는 메가요트 국산화 개발방안을 제시하고자 한다.

Overview of the Korean Marine Industry and VPP Analysis of a 28ft Sailing Yacht (대한민국의 해양 레저 시장 및 28ft급 세일요트의 VPP 성능해석 연구)

  • The South Korean marine industry is emerging as a significant market, driven by the growing popularity of various water leisure activities, including sailing. This trend suggests a rising demand for sailing yachts. Consequently, since 2022, the design and development of a 28ft sailing yacht have been ongoing, supported by the government and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, to promote yachting culture in South Korea. The Velocity Prediction Program (VPP) analysis was conducted using WinDesign during the preliminary design stage to evaluate performance and determine design parameters. The hydrodynamic model used for this vessel is based on regression methods developed from years of experience in naval architecture and yacht research at the Wolfson Unit, providing reliable estimates for most modern yachts. However, owing to the lack of specific hydrodynamic data from towing tank tests or CFD numerical analysis, verification of the hydrodynamic model has faced some challenges. Additionally, an incomplete weight estimate resulted in variable VCG values, potentially affecting stability and overall performance. The optimal boat speed for this vessel was determined at true wind speeds (TWS) of 4, 8, 12, 16, and 20 knots, using both the jib (up to 120° TWA) and the spinnaker (from 80° TWA). The optimized speed of the yacht was found to be comparable to that of international similar-class yachts.

  • Recently, design technology of has been required such as catamaran yacht with high-speed according to expand a marine leisure industry. The domestic technical development for design and production of yacht is not actively than Canada, USA, Japan etc. However, with further development of yacht design & technology, it is need to develop a key technology related to increase the value of catamaran yacht. In the present paper, new guideline is suggest for catamaran yacht as like kinds of marine leisure ship in order for fundamental structure design and structural analysis for twin-hulled ship yacht and techniques for structural analysis as sea leisure ship in this research. The class of society has not been proposed formally about regulation and methodology for estimation of strength of small hight-speed craft with satisfying two conditions as noted; length less than 50meters, ratio of length to breadth less than 12. In the present study, we were adopted DNV (Yachts, Design Principles, Design Loads, Hull Structural Design) Rule and KR (FRP rule application guide) for scantling of structural members. Furthermore, ABS rule is used for structural calculation about application of loading conditions for catamaran yacht. This study can be available feedback role to manufacture of 38ft diffusion style for catamaran yacht. It is expected that this study will be a good reference in order to design of catamaran yacht with high-speed.

  • This article describes a part of collaborative research between industry and academy to develop an initial hull form of 46 feet motor yacht. Hydrodynamic performances such as stability, resistance and seaworthiness were estimated after completing the procedure of hull form design in the initial design stage.

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate the current trends of composite applications in the marine and leisure fields and to study the development of 33ft class America's cup training CFRP sailing yacht. In the field of marine and leisure, composite materials have been just used to marine and leisure structures, recently. Especially, since the America's cup of sailing yacht racing has required the light weight and high mechanical performance to make a high speed, CFRP have been recognized as the critical material to construct the racing yacht structures. To establish the process of CFRP racing yacht construction, the design optimizations and production methods of carbon mast and CFRP yacht hull were discussed in this paper. Finally, the constructed CFRP sailing yacht exhibited high performance as the racing yacht through the sailing test.

  • An overview of 30 feet sailing yacht design is presented. with an emphasis on the factors contributing to start-up Popularization . After prescribing the configurations of the purposed yacht. the design of the hull form with a rudder and a keel, are schematically described. Also the determinations of the dimensions of the sail and rig are performed.
