An Investigation on Core Competencies of Data Curator (데이터 큐레이터의 핵심 직무 요건 고찰에 관한 연구)

  • As the digital technologies and internet have advanced, data have centered in the process of meaningful scientific ramifications and policy making in a wide variety of fields. Data curator in charge of managing data plays a significant role in terms of improving the effectiveness and efficiency of data management and re-uses. The purpose of this study is to identify the core competencies for data curator. For achieving the purpose of this study, two sets of data were collected. First, a total of 255 job descriptions were collected from the web sites including ARL, Digital Curation Exchange, Code4lib, ASIS&T JobLine for the period of 2011-2014. Second, in-depth interviews with five data curators from four diverse organizations were collected. The two sets of data were analyzed into seven categories identified from the related studies. Findings of this study showed that core competencies for data curator were identified into four categories, communication skills, data management techniques, knowledge and strategies for data management, and instructions and service provisions for users. The implications of this study can be considered as integrated and professional curriculum developments for data curator with core competencies.

  • This study aimed to analyze the quality concepts and requirements of digital records as evidence and to find an implication to develop requirements for trusted digital records with securing authoritative qualities. To this end, this study compared requirements of records domain linking records process, records metadata and records systems with judicial domain on digital evidence, and identified the records requirements to secure the legal admissibility linking records and judicial domain. This study analyzed the relationship of quality concepts between digital records and digital evidence, found the legal admissibility is highly related to the reliability, and derived that it needs the measure to secure the reliability at the stage of records creation and capture. To prove authenticity of digital evidence, this study identified importance of records process, records metadata and records system, and proposed the necessity of measurement to secure records' evidence.

  • 고속철도는 상당히 복잡한 시스템이기 때문에 적절한 시스템엔지니어링 도구의 사용 없이는 추적관리에 드는 인적비용 및 시간이 만만치 않으며 오류가 생기기 쉽고 매우 비효율적이다. 따라서, 시스템 요건에 정의된 목표 성능을 달성하고 시스템간의 불일치를 최소로 하기 위해 체계적인 시스템 통합 절차를 제공할 수 있는 시스템 엔지니어링 데이터베이스 구축이 필요하다. 이 데이터베이스는 시스템 요건부터 시스템 기능, 컴포넌트, 평가 요건, 평가 결과까지 추적성을 갖도록 구축되어서 연계 관리를 가능하게 한다.

The Development of Student Portfolio Management Program to Aid Engineering Education (공학교육지원 학생 포트폴리오 관리프로그램의 개발)

  • The purpose of this study is the development of SPMP(Student Portfolio Management Program) to aid performance of student program outcomes related to program educational objectives. SPMP is developed to manage accreditation conditions, student materials, academic results through system database and to provide synthetic data for engineering education through statistical process. There are three functions to construct SPMP. First, the function of student information management is organized on various input data related to academic program, resume, etc. Second, the function of accreditation condition management is identified by the evaluation of program outcomes, subject grades, etc. Third, the function of course work data management is made by the operation of the academic reports and productions. The result of this study is expected to effectively provide constructive directions for continuous management in accreditation of engineering education and to support student portfolio for submission in required application.

Comparative Analysis of the Prerequisite Items Applicable to the HACCP in Livestock Processing Plants (축산물가공장 HACCP 선행요건 평가항목 개선을 위한 비교분석)

  • We analyze the HACCP Prerequisites of National Veterinary Research and Quarantine Service (NVRQS), Korea Food and Drug Administration(KFDA), and US Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) and recommend contents and ranges to be complemented and used for the preparation of guidelines. We used the HACCP Notice of the Processing Livestock Act, the HACCP Application Manual for Livestock Processing Plants, the HACCP Notice of the Food Sanitation Act, US GPO 9 CFR and 21 CFR, US FSIS Directive 11,000.1, and HACCP-based Inspection reference guide of Consumer Services, North Carolina Department of Agriculture. The Prerequisites of NVRQS and KFDA are composed of 66 and 84 items respectively, without detailed guidelines for their application. This may decisively affect the application in the field and the evaluation activities. Water supplies, washing and disinfection monitoring tools, and examining and correcting plan are required to be improved. If the standards of compliance of each Prerequisite item as well as performance guidelines are given, the application and evaluation will be performed more effectively. The evaluation items should be associated with Prerequisite operations such as non-compliance complement, self-evaluation, and record keeping. Hazards found during official inspection should be promptly controlled not to contaminate the work places and processing items. As the HACCP is expected to spread from farms to tables, the standardized Prerequisite program among the official governments should be prepared.

Evaluation of Handover Requirements of Construction Information for Efficient Facility Management (효율적인 자산관리를 위한 건설정보 이양요건 평가)

  • As facilities have become larger, more complex, and advanced, the importance of the facility management in the operation phase of the building is increasing. As a result, the scope of the facility management function is expanding, and the requirements of information are ever-increasing. However, inefficient exchange of information occurs due to duplicated tasks and lack of collaboration among the construction life cycle phases, resulting in cost loss. These low interoperability issues can be complemented by construction information management from a life cycle perspective. Efficient construction information management at each life-cycle stage is derived from the owner's will and is materialized through the construction information handover requirements by the owner. The purpose of this study is to develop an evaluation method of construction information handover requirements for facility management. In order to develop the method, facility management types and business functions are also classified and defined in this paper. Using the methodology proposed by this study, a case-study of evaluating the 'takeover items' submitted by contractors was performed for the purpose of research validation. The results of the case-study found that the most effective areas are in the order of 'legal informations', 'drawings', 'guides', etc. This study can be used as a reference data for deriving handover requirements for construction information at the early stage of the project.

  • The purpose of construction project management is to achieve planned quality by adequate cost and schedule of the project, thus the effective time management is a critical factor to actualize the object. But the traditional time management by using milestone has several limitations which are not sufficiently considered mutual relation and variated from the task. On this wise, applying the concept and principles of lean construction to the project will be the best way not only reduce waste and variation, but also improve the productivity and ability to overcome limitation as mentioned above. Thus the study, Last Planner System, specially focuses on constraint analysis which is used in lookahead planning system. The results of this research will provide the constraints classification that is able to improve work reliable and percent plan complete when time planning by controlling constraints of project.

A study on application plan of access control requirements in ERMS Standard (ERMS 표준에 나타난 접근통제 요건의 적용방안에 관한 연구)

  • Under the physical records management system, both the records and users could be controlled and secured by closing the door of Archives or using permitted records which is used only approved users. According to the electronic records management system and the concept of service on the basis of users, we have to give up the classical manner. As an alternative, we have to consider the electronic access control system. To accomplish this purpose, functional requirements of ERMS that is issued by UK, EU, U.S and Australia must be compared and analyzed. On the basis of U.K ERMS which is more detailed, 'common access control functional requirements' are arranged. As the access control functional requirements is applied in the records classification scheme, we could find out how the access control is executed in ERMS.

Influence of Characteristics of Hospital Foodservice Operation and Dietitian on Performance of HACCP Prerequisite Program (병원 급식소와 영양사의 특성이 HACCP 선행요건 수행도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze factors that influence prerequisite program (PRP) performance of hospital foodservice operation. Data was collected through surveys given to 65 dietitians working in general hospital with ${\geq}100beds$. Importance score of sanitary management for the self-operated establishments was significantly higher than that of contract-managed in the areas of working environment management (p<0.01), waste management (p<0.05), clean disinfection management (p<0.05). Performance score of hospitals with ${\leq}300beds$ was significantly lower than that of hospitals with ${\geq}300beds$ in personal hygiene management (p<0.05). Moreover, importance score of dietitians spending ${\geq}3hours$ on inspection time was significantly higher than that of dieticians spending ${\leq}3hr$ in waste management area. According to the results of Pearson correlation analysis, PRP performance score was positively related with dietitian's career (p<0.05), number of submitted beds (p<0.05), cooking process inspection time (p<0.05), dietitian's job satisfaction (p<0.01), and holding rate of utensil and equipment (p<0.05). In addition, the results of multiple regression analysis showed that dietitian's job satisfaction (p<0.001) and holding rate of utensil and equipment (p<0.05) had a significant positive effect on prerequisite program performance. In conclusion, improvement of working condition to increase dietitian's job satisfaction and securing of utensils and equipments are high priorities for improvement of PRP performance.
