  • Research on restaurant recommender systems has been proposed due to the development of the food service industry and the increasing demand for restaurants. Existing restaurant recommendation studies extracted consumer preference information through quantitative information or online review sensitivity analysis, but there is a limitation that it cannot reflect consumer semantic preference information. In addition, there is a lack of recommendation research that reflects the detailed attributes of restaurants. To solve this problem, this study proposed a model that can learn the interaction between consumer preferences and restaurant attributes by applying deep learning techniques. First, the convolutional neural network was applied to online reviews to extract semantic preference information from consumers, and embedded techniques were applied to restaurant information to extract detailed attributes of restaurants. Finally, the interaction between consumer preference and restaurant attributes was learned through the element-wise products to predict the consumer preference rating. Experiments using an online review of Yelp.com to evaluate the performance of the proposed model in this study confirmed that the proposed model in this study showed excellent recommendation performance. By proposing a customized restaurant recommendation system using big data from the restaurant industry, this study expects to provide various academic and practical implications.

  • This article examines how consumers in online environments depend on brand in making purchase decisions by product types. Previous research explains that the characteristics of online environments decrease the dependence on brand due to inexpensive search costs and affluent information quantity. But it is likely that in online environment, the dependence on brand will be differentiated by product types. We found that in search product, the availability of information decreased consumer's uncertainty, which, in turn, increased the dependence of brand. However, in experience products, the weakness of multi-sensory increased consumer's uncertainty, which resulted in the increase of the dependence of brand.

  • The research conducted here focuses on the definition and organization of information privacy concerns in e-commerce process. Based on the identified concept of information privacy concerns(IPC), this study additionally explores the interrelationships among consumers' individual characteristics(self-efficacy, digital literacy, customer alienation), customer satisfaction and intention to buy. Through empirical model analysis, this study found that self-efficacy and digital literacy affect negatively IPC, while customer alienation has an positive effect on IPC. IPC affects positively customer satisfaction. Academically, this study extends IPC to an empirical research model by identifying the conceptualization and organization of IPC. Moreover, practically, e-commerce providers can develop how to relieve IPC of online consumers.
