In this study, the physical compensator made with the high density material, Cerrobend, and the electronic compensator realized by the movement of a dynamic multileaf collimator were analyzed in order to verify the properness of a design function in the commercial RTP (radiation treatment planning) system, Eclipse. The CT images of a phantom composed of the regions of five different thickness were acquired and the proper compensator which can make homogeneous dose distribution at the reference depth was designed in the RTP. The frame for the casting of Cerrobend compensator was made with a computerized automatic styrofoam cutting device and the Millennium MLC-120 was used for the electronic compensator. All the dose values and isodose distributions were measured with a radiographic EDR2 film. The deviation of a dose distribution was $\pm0.99 cGy\;and\;\pm1.82cGy$ in each case of a Cerrobend compensator and a electronic compensator compared with a $\pm13.93 cGy$ deviation in an open beam condition. Which showed the proper function of the designed compensators in the view point of a homogeneous dose distribution. When the absolute dose value was analyzed, the Cerrobend compensator showed a $+3.83\%$ error and the electronic compensator showed a $-4.37\%$ error in comparison with a dose value which was calculated in the RTP. These errors can be admtted as an reasonable results that approve the accuracy of the compensator design in the RTP considering the error in the process of the manufacturing of the Cerrobend compensator and the limitation of a film in the absolute dosimetry.

This paper describes an efficient error-compensation technique for designing a low-error truncated Booth multiplier which produces an N-bit output from a two's complement multiplication of two N bit inputs by eliminating the N least-significant bits. Applying the proposed method, a truncated Booth multiplier for area-efficient and low-power applications has been designed, and its performance(truncation error, area) was analyzed. Since the truncated Booth multiplier does not have about half the partial product generators and adders, it results an area reduction of about 35%, compared with no-truncated parallel multipliers. Error analysis shows that the proposed approach reduces the average truncation error by approximately 60%, compared with conventional methods. A 16-b$\times$16-b truncated Booth multiplier core is designed on full-custom style using 0.35-${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ CMOS technology. It has 3,000 transistors on an area of 330-${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$$\times$262-${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and 20-㎽ power dissipation at 3.3-V supply with 200-MHz operating frequency.

This paper proposes a method of non-linearity error detection and calibration for binary-weighted charge-driven DACs. In general, the non-linearity errors of DACs often occur due to the mismatch of layout designs or process variation, even when careful layout design methods and process calibration are adopted. Since such errors can substantially degrade the SNDR performance of DAC, it is crucial to accurately measure the errors and calibrate the design mismatches. The proposed method employs 2 identical DAC circuits. The 2 DACs are sweeped, respectively, by using 2 digital input counters with a fixed difference. A comparator identifies any non-linearity errors larger than an acceptable discrepancy. We also propose a calibration method that can fine-tune the DAC's capacitor sizes iteratively until the comparator finds no further errors. Simulations are presented, which show that the proposed method is effective to detect the non-linearity errors and calibrate the capacitor mismatches of a 12-bit DAC design of binary-weighted charge-driven structure.

In this paper, a Two-Degree-of-Freedom-Controller(TDFC) for DC motors based on inverse dynamics and the fuzzy technique is presented. The proposed controller includes the inverse dynamic model of a DC motor system, a prefilter and a fuzzy compensator. The model of the system is characterized by a nonlinear equation with coulomb friction. The prefilter eliminates high frequency effects occurring when the inverse dynamic model is implemented. The fuzzy compensator is designed for tracking the change of the reference input and simultaneously regulating the error between the reference input and the system output which can be caused by disturbances. The optimal parameters of both the model and the compensator are identified by a real-coded genetic algorithm. An experimental work on a DC motor system is carried out to verify the performance of the proposed controller.

In this paper, we analyse the effect of the path imbalances(gain and phase mismatches) in LINC(LInear amplification with Nonlinear Component) system, and propose a simple scheme using LUTs(Look Up Table) to compensate the path imbalances. The EVM(Error Vector Magnitude) and ACPR(Adjacent Channel Power Ratio) of the LINC system are degraded significantly by the path imbalances because it adopts an outphasing technique. The EVM and ACPR are theoretically extracted for two variables(gain and phase mismatch factors) and 2-D LUTs for those are generated based on the analysis. The efficient and simple compensation scheme for the path imbalances is proposed using the 2-D LUTs. A LINC system with the suggested compensation scheme is implemented, and the proposed method is verified with an experiment. A 16-QAM signal with 1.5 MHz bandwidth is used. Before the compensation, the path gain ratio was 95 % and phase error was $19.33^{\circ}$. The proposed scheme adjusts those values with 99 % and $0.5^{\circ}$, and improves ACPR about 18.1 dB.

In this paper, a double gimbal is used for roll/yaw attitude control of spacecraft and two feedback controllers are designed. One is a PD controller of no phase difference between roll and yaw control input. The other is a PD controller with a phase lag compensator about the yaw control input. The phase lag compensator is designed a first order system and a lag parameter is designed for the control of yaw angle. There are two case simulations for each of controllers; constant disturbance torques and initial errors of nutation. We obtain the results through simulations that a steady-state error and a rising time of yaw angle are developed by the compensator. In this paper, simulation parameters use the values of KOREASAT 1.
In this paper, we design a flight controller using a dynamic compensator for a small unmanned aerial vehicle. The proposed method ensures flight stability during altitude holding and waypoints passing by improving the transient response and steady state error. The control system consists of dual feedback loops with an inner loop and a outer loop. The inner loop has a PD controller to improves the transient response and the outer loop has a dynamic compensator to reduce overshoot in the transient response and improve the steady state error. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated by flight test on a small UAV.
Using a polarimetry based on the rotating analyzer ellipsometer, a technique of measuring off-alignment angle between the slow-axis of the LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) polarizing plate and the transmission axis of the compensating plate attached to the polarizing plate is proposed. It is anticipated that this technique will reduce the optic axis off-alignment error coming from the process of attaching the compensating plate to the LCD polarizing plate markedly, and therefore will help maintain the quality of LCD display image uniformly.

[n this paper, we propose a hierarchical self-organizing fuzzy logic controller to improve the
performance of the FARMA(Fuzzy auto-regressive moving average) SOC(Self-organizing fuzzy
logic controller) when the system parameters change. The proposed controller contains the FARMA
SC)C in the lower level and has a coordinator in the higher level, which evaluates convergence. and
when it senses the degradation of system performance it compensates the control input by a look-up
table. The proposed controller shows good perforniance over the FARMA SOC when the system
parameters change. We executed some computer simulations on the regulation problem of an
inlrerted pendulum system and compared the results with those of the FARMA SOC. As a result, it
ha:; been shown that the proposed controller outperformed the FARMA SOC when the changes of the
system parameters occurred.
