Development for rainfall classification based on local flood vulnerability using entropy weight in Seoul metropolitan area (엔트로피 가중치를 활용한 지역별 홍수취약도 기반의 서울지역 강우기준 산정기법)

  • Recently Flood damage volume has increased as heavy rain has frequently occurred. Especially urban areas are a vulnerability to flooding damage because of densely concentrated population and property. A local government is preparing to mitigate flood damage through the heavy rain warning issued by Korea Meteorological Administration. This warning classification is identical for a national scale. However, Seoul has 25 administrative districts with different regional characteristics such as climate, topography, disaster prevention state, and flood damage severity. This study considered the regional characteristics of 25 administrative districts to analyze the flood vulnerability using entropy weight and Euclidean distance. The rainfall classification was derived based on probability rainfall and flood damage rainfall that occurred in the past. The result shows the step 2 and step 4 of rainfall classification was not significantly different from the heavy rain classification of the Korea Meteorological Administration. The flood vulnerability is high with high climate exposure and low adaptability to climate change, and the rainfall classification is low in the northern region of Seoul. It is possible to preemptively respond to floods in the northern region of Seoul based on relatively low rainfall classification. In the future, we plan to review the applicability of rainfall forecast data using the rainfall classification of results from this study. These results will contribute to research for preemptive flood response measures.

A Study on the Tangibility and Intangibility Value Contents Influence Factor of Jongmyo Shrine Using Text Mining Analysis (텍스트 마이닝 분석을 활용한 종묘의 유·무형 콘텐츠 영향요인 연구)

  • As time is rapidly changing, the culture to represent an era is getting more subdivided and complex. Due to cultural diversity, the influence, cause, characteristics which could be understood in individual field centered by space in the past cannot be understood now only by the viewpoint of one field, and it has become difficult to predict and correspond to the change of the future. With the development of information and knowledge delivery system, various cultural contents to form a space are being created and lapsed, but there are a lot of parts which cannot be explained or understood by only one point of view. To inspect these situation, this study is aimed to draw the Tangibility and Intangibility Value causes that became the influence with Jongmyo Shrine, designated from UNESCO at February 1995, a traditional space with historical superiority, analyze the key factors that became the main factor to form the space, and consider the importance of the related factors. The unconstructured data technique which is applied as the method of analysis in this study can be said to be a new value judgement and viewpoint in interpreting the space. Therefore, this study is a new trial to provide a frame for multilaterally interpreting the various traditional space and culture of Korea from the past to the present.

Development of Flow Loop System to Evaluate the Performance of ESP in Unconventional Oil and Gas Wells (비전통 유·가스정에서 ESP 성능 평가를 위한 Flow Loop 시스템 개발)

  • The electric submersible pump (ESP) has been operating in production wells around the world because of its high applicability and operational efficiency among artificial lift techniques. When operating an ESP in a reservoir, variables such as temperature, pressure, gas/oil ratio, and flow rate are factors that affect ESP performance. In particular, free gas in the production fluid is a major factor that reduces the life and operational efficiency of ESP. This study presents the flow loop system which can implement the performance and damage tests of ESP considering field operating conditions to quantitatively analyze the variables that affect ESP performance. The developed apparatus in an integrated system that can diagnose the failure and causes of ESP, and detect leak of tubing by linking ESP and tubing as one system. In this study, the flow conditions for stable operation of ESP were identified through single phase and two phase flow experiments related to evaluation for the performance of ESP. The results provide the basic data to develop the failure prediction and diagnosis program of ESP, and are expected to be used for real-time monitoring for optimal operating conditions and failure diagnosis for ESP operation.

COVID-19-related Korean Fake News Detection Using Occurrence Frequencies of Parts of Speech (품사별 출현 빈도를 활용한 코로나19 관련 한국어 가짜뉴스 탐지)

  • The COVID-19 pandemic, which began in December 2019 and continues to this day, has left the public needing information to help them cope with the pandemic. However, COVID-19-related fake news on social media seriously threatens the public's health. In particular, if fake news related to COVID-19 is massively spread with similar content, the time required for verification to determine whether it is genuine or fake will be prolonged, posing a severe threat to our society. In response, academics have been actively researching intelligent models that can quickly detect COVID-19-related fake news. Still, the data used in most of the existing studies are in English, and studies on Korean fake news detection are scarce. In this study, we collect data on COVID-19-related fake news written in Korean that is spread on social media and propose an intelligent fake news detection model using it. The proposed model utilizes the frequency information of parts of speech, one of the linguistic characteristics, to improve the prediction performance of the fake news detection model based on Doc2Vec, a document embedding technique mainly used in prior studies. The empirical analysis shows that the proposed model can more accurately identify Korean COVID-19-related fake news by increasing the recall and F1 score compared to the comparison model.

  • 도시지역 비점오염원관리, 물순환 회복, 침투 및 증발산량 증가, 열섬현상 저감을 위한 주요한 방안으로 저영향개발(low impact development, LID)과 그린인프라 기법의 적용되고 있다. LID 시설은 소규모 분산형 시설로써 넓은 지역에 많고 다양한 시설들이 적용되어 시설의 개수가 많으며, 수질 및 토양 내 기성제품에 대한 센서들의 가격은 고가로 형성되어 있어 기기의 경제성 및 유지관리 등 적용하는데 제한적이다. 따라서 과거 모니터링 자료를 기반으로 오염물질들과의 상관성 분석을 통하여 계측이 어려운 항목들을 계측가능한 항목들로부터 예측 가능하며, 선정된 항목들에 대한 비용효율적인 센서를 개발하여 실시간 LID 모니터링이 가능한 비용효율적 모니터링을 개발하였다. 공주대학교 천안캠퍼스의 LID 시설들은 2013년에 조성되어 현재까지 시설이 운영되고 있으며, 5년이상의 과거 강우시 모니터링 자료들을 이용하여 오염물질 상관성 분석을 수행가능 하기에 대상지로 선정하였다. 오염물질 상관성 분석은 2013년부터 2017년도에 침투도랑에서 수행된 강우시 모니터링 자료를 활용하여 각 오염물질들의 상관성을 분석을 수행하였다. 침투도랑 내 유입되는 평균 유입수는 TSS 286.1±318.3 mg/L, BOD 22.6±39.5 mg/L, TN 8.96±5.85 mg/L, TP 1.01±1.11 mg/L로 나타났다. 겨울철에 비해 여름철에서의 오염물질의 유입농도가 높은 것으로 분석되었다. 이는 여름철 고온건조로 인한 노면 내 차량의 주행으로 인한 중금속, 폐타이어 등과 장마철 강우 시 유출된 토사로 인하여 유입수의 농도가 높은 것으로 분석되었다. 오염물질 부하량은 TSS와 COD 0.66으로 유의성이 높은 것으로 나왔으며, COD와 TSS, TP, TN 등 유의성이 높은 것으로 분석되었다. Arduino와 Raspberry PI를 활용하여 저비용 센서와 LTE 모뎀통신과 데이터 베이스 연결하여 개발된 프로그램을 통해서 무선으로 LID 시설에 대한 모니터링을 침투화분2와 식생체류지에 조성하였다. 전력공급이 어려운 식생체류지의 경우 태양열(Solar system) 시스템과 보조 전력 배터리를 조성하여 장마철이나 장기적인 악천후로 인한 전력을 생산하지 못할 경우 보조전력배터리에서 전력을 제공하여 지속적인 모니터링이 이루어지도록 설계하였다. 토양함수량, 토양온도와 Conductivity 등 3종류의 센서를 적용하였으며, 프로그램은 현재 2단계를 통한 2차수정을 통하여 프로그램을 구축하였다. 오차, 오작동, 계측값에 대한 검·보정 작업이 필요하다. 또한 대기자료의 구축을 통해 보다 토양과 LID 시설에 대한 영향분석이 필요한 것으로 사료된다.

A Study on the AI Analysis of Crop Area Data in Aquaponics (아쿠아포닉스 환경에서의 작물 면적 데이터 AI 분석 연구)

  • Unlike conventional smart farms that require chemical fertilizers and large spaces, aquaponics farming, which utilizes the symbiotic relationship between aquatic organisms and crops to grow crops even in abnormal environments such as environmental pollution and climate change, is being actively researched. Different crops require different environments and nutrients for growth, so it is necessary to configure the ratio of aquatic organisms optimized for crop growth. This study proposes a method to measure the degree of growth based on area and volume using image processing techniques in an aquaponics environment. Tilapia, carp, catfish, and lettuce crops, which are aquatic organisms that produce organic matter through excrement, were tested in an aquaponics environment. Through 2D and 3D image analysis of lettuce and real-time data analysis, the growth degree was evaluated using the area and volume information of lettuce. The results of the experiment proved that it is possible to manage cultivation by utilizing the area and volume information of lettuce. It is expected that it will be possible to provide production prediction services to farmers by utilizing aquatic life and growth information. It will also be a starting point for solving problems in the changing agricultural environment.

The Analysis of Future Land Use Change Impact on Hydrology and Water Quality Using SWAT Model (SWAT 모형을 이용한 미래 토지이용변화가 수문 - 수질에 미치는 영향 분석)

  • This study is to assess the impact of future land use change on hydrology and water quality in Gyungan-cheon watershed ($255.44km^2$) using SWAT (Soil and Water Assessment Tool) model. Using the 5 past Landsat TM (1987, 1991, 1996, 2004) and $ETM^+$ (2001) satellite images, time series of land use map were prepared, and the future land uses (2030, 2060, 2090) were predicted using CA-Markov technique. The 4 years streamflow and water quality data (SS, T-N, T-P) and DEM (Digital Elevation Model), stream network, and soil information (1:25,000) were prepared. The model was calibrated for 2 years (1999 and 2000), and verified for 2 years (2001 and 2002) with averaged Nash and Sutcliffe model efficiency of 0.59 for streamflow and determination coefficient of 0.88, 0.72, 0.68 for Sediment, T-N (Total Nitrogen), T-P (Total Phosphorous) respectively. The 2030, 2060 and 2090 future prediction based on 2004 values showed that the total runoff increased 1.4%, 2.0% and 2.7% for 0.6, 0.8 and 1.1 increase of watershed averaged CN value. For the future Sediment, T-N and T-P based on 2004 values, 51.4%, 5.0% and 11.7% increase in 2030, 70.5%, 8.5% and 16.7% increase in 2060, and 74.9%, 10.9% and 19.9% increase in 2090.

Building a Model to Estimate Pedestrians' Critical Lags on Crosswalks (횡단보도에서의 보행자의 임계간격추정 모형 구축)

  • The critical lag of crosswalk pedestrians is an important parameter in analyzing traffic operation at unsignalized crosswalks, however there is few research in this field in Korea. The purpose of this study is to develop a model to estimate the critical lag. Among the elements which influence the critical lag, the age of pedestrians and the length of crosswalks, which have fuzzy characteristics, and the each lag which is rejected or accepted are collected on crosswalks of which lengths range from 3.5 m to 10.5 m. The values of the critical lag range from 2.56 sec. to 5.56 sec. The age and the length are divided to the 3 fuzzy variables each, and the critical lag of each case is estimated according to Raff's technique, so a total of 9 fuzzy rules are established. Based on the rules, an ANFIS (Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System) model to estimate the critical lag is built. The predictability of the model is evaluated comparing the observed with the estimated critical lags by the model. Statistics of $R^2$, MAE, MSE are 0.96, 0.097, 0.015 respectively. Therefore, the model is evaluated to explain the result well. During this study, it is found that the critical lag increases rapidly over the pedestrian's age of 40 years.

A Criterion on the Selection of Optimal Mass Transport System by Transportation Corridor based on GIS Buffering Analysis (GIS Buffering 분석에 기반한 교통축별 최적대중교통시스템 선정기준)

  • The existing mass transport system, with its limited capacity and the saturated road networks, has given cause for a new means of transport to be developed, and strong demands for such new means of transport are observed more than ever. However, the traffic authority is seeking a new transport system that focuses more on LRT(Light Rail Transit), a downsized version of the existing urban railroad, rather than one that is appropriate to solve the traffic problems. Moreover, local governments are experiencing difficulties in planning their own mass transportation(bus or urban railroad) as they have no specified criteria for selecting a mass transport system. Accordingly, there has been an increasingly loud voice that calls for criteria to determine which mass transport system befits each transportation corridor. This paper develops a mass-transport demand forecasting model based on the GIS Buffering analysis of each transportation corridor in the city, sets up the capacity for each mass transport system and presents the criteria for selecting an optimal mass transport system for each transportation corridor. It also presents a methodology that identifies necessary and sufficient conditions for selection and evaluation, since it is most important to select the optimal mass-transport system that can meet the demand by each mass-transportation corridor.
