바쁜 현대인. 그들에겐 즐거운 취미활동이나 건강을 위한 운동을 할수 있는 시간보다는 스트레스에 쌓여야 하는 시간이 더 많다. 그러나 이런 정신없는 틈을 타 예술활동을 하면서 건강도 도모하는 모임이 있다. "대한 사진예술가협회" 50년 가까이 한국사진계의 맥을 이어온 대한사진예술가협회는 사진을 통한 자기발견과 정기출사를 통한 건강관리를 사람들에게 권하고 있다. 전문 직업인은 아니지만 누구보다 사진예술에 관한 애착을 가지고있고 그만큼의 실력을 이어오고 있는 협회를 찾아가 봤다.

Gentrification is the process by which a working class or other disadvantaged area of a city changes into a middle class residential or commercial district. Gentrification, which has received much attention in arts management in recent years as part of a concern with urban regeneration, carries a generally negative connotation. In this paper, we interrogate this negative view of gentrification to explore ways arts entrepreneurship can convert the perceived threat of gentrification into opportunity. To this end, we examine the Mullae Cultural Salon in the gentrifying district of the Mullae Creative Village. Through a literature review of gentrification and arts entrepreneurship, we propose seven elements of art entrepreneurs responding to gentrification as an analytic framework for research. Our findings indicate that arts entrepreneurs were able to extend the maturity phase of gentrification and thus enhance the cultural and artistic value of the region for other artists and arts entrepreneurs.

This study aims to identify how performing artists in Korea, who are the target beneficiaries of the Arts Council Korea's Performing Arts Fostering Program, Chang-jak-san-shil(CJSS), would perceive and assess the current state of CJSS and its effects. To do so, this paper has adopted a bottom-up approach as a theoretical lens for policy evaluative analysis. This research engages with qualitative research design by conducting a series of in-depth interviews and FGIs with 28 participants in total. The interview participants consist of CJSS grantees(n=21) and peer-review panels(n=7) based on the intension to enhance objectivity and reliability of the study. Results of the data analysis suggest that the grant program still carries pressing needs to achieve a success as follows: providing post-program support, enhancing transparency of the panel appointment process and the peer review process, reflecting different nature of each arts discipline, and having more open communications with arts professionals. Based on these findings, this paper will provide and discuss about policy implications which can contribute to the performing arts domain at large.

The purpose of this study is to establish the most severe impacts of Covid-19 in the field of the performing arts and to explore countermeasures taken both at home and abroad. This study has been conducted through literature surveys. The conclusion is as follows. First, since the outbreak of Covid-19, theater venues around the world have actively taken part in uploading recorded performances to streaming services. Secondly, these performance visualizings are generally considered as being complimentary goods rather than a substitute for live performance. Thirdly, although more audiences are tuning into watch on-line performances, consumption is concentrated on a few theaters which have a worldwide reputation and a broad range of content. Fourthly, to tackle the impact that Covid-19, the UK government announced a series of job protection schemes in the field of the Arts. In addition, Arts Council England prepared an emergency response package. In Korea, some countermeasures such as government support for artists and cultural establishments have also been implemented. Lastly, some suggestions for the sector. I conclude that there is an need for domestic companies to secure core contents of significant quality and to make strategic alliances with leading overseas performance companies so that they may cooperate together.

The purpose of this study is to critically explore and make an issue of the distribution system presented by Victoria Alexander's 'Modified Cultural Diamond' model. Street artist Banksy was served as a single case, and various secondary data were collected and analyzed for the purposes of this study. First, this study examined the formation of the aesthetic discourse and the increase in the value of Banksy's works by the market intermediaries constituting the distribution system. In addition, this paper placed Banksy's actions and works in Alexander's theoretical framework and critically discussed the following three aspects of the distribution system of 'Modified Cultural Diamond': the divorce between artists and artworks by the distribution system; the ignorance of the direct connection between artist and consumer; and lastly the exclusion of the possibility of distributing works by artists. Based on this discussion, this study has significance in making a theoretical model of Alexander academically controversial.

It is almost impossible to keep the exact documentations of veterans' works due to the fastidious and convoluted nature of this particular field. The histrorical recordings of Korean Theater in general has been improved due to growing educations of staffs and actors through theatre associated universities But the need of preserving the recordings of veteran actors has not been recognized enough, therefore their precious assets has been lost, which is such a regretful truth. However, with the necessity in mind, the following study is focused on Gil-ho Kim, an actor, playwright, director, and his works on 'Namdo-Mokpo-Plays'. Comparisons will be made, focusing on these plays, between his life as an actor and the meaning of documenting a veteran actor's assets.

Not only the government, but private corporations have contributed a lot to growth and development of culture. Corporations have mainly made charitable, dispensational Macenat activities which are separate from their business activities. Such an one-sided and charitable method of supporting culture cannot last long - Part of the reason why the number of corporations supporting culture is decreasing lies in it. In order to have sustainable partnership with culture, first, corporations should figure out needs of the other party. Second, the activities of corporations to support culture should be corporate citizenship activities which are linked to their business activities. In particular, the existing concepts of CSR and CSV have some limits. CSR separates business activities of corporations and their social contribution activities, and CSV mainly assumes corporate social activities helpful to their business activities. But, the concept of corporate citizenship suggested in this study assumes corporate activities where corporations do their best not only in their business activities, but in solution of social problems. Accordingly, searching for the ways to practice corporate citizenship, this study analyzed global agendas of UN, UNESCO, and UCLG which suggest sustainable development with culture and corporate citizenship activities related with culture among corporations in Korea and other countries. The findings and hints of the analysis are as follows. First, corporate citizenship activities can contribute to building of unique images of corporations and improvement of brand identities. Second, such activities can help corporations to be born again as life style companies by using local cultures and their attractiveness. Third, corporations should have partnership with cultural associations creating shared values and provide them with continuous and stable support. And, cultural associations should try to grow with corporations through efforts to develop attractive contents and programs harmonious with management purposes of corporations.

Currently barbola has been considered in Korea. The artistry of it has been studied. Interior design barbola has developed from an art activity to a real life product. Interior design is meant to total design activity to satisfy all condition both function and emotion suited for the goal of interior space human dwells. We study the product technique of optic media barbola sculpture with affection and refinement to use traditional superior onion on optic media and permeability in order to apply the artistry of barbola to interior design. We make real sculpture using it. The mineral electric radiation sheet in this research includes 0.2mm thickness with low power, high brightness, and non-heat. The result of this study contains a new type and narrative beyond the limitation of the traditional barbola. We make power saving lighting sculpture through it.

The purpose of this study is to suggest the desirable direction toward the creative hand-on activities suitable for the characters of the technical high school students by examining the teachers' recognition of sub-factors of creative activities in technical high school and analysing whether the factors are properly utilized. Respondents of this study were 393 teachers at the Technical high school in South Korea. The questionnaire survey on the recognition of creative hand-on activities consisted of questions, which are importance and reflection, from 32 sections in 5 fields. The summary of the results through this study is as following. First, In the results of importance analysis of teachers in technical high school, in club activity field, 'the invention' of 'academic activity', 'film-art' in 'culture-art activity', 'challenge activity' in 'sports activity', 'school specialized major' in 'work practice activity', 'scout federation', 'Red Cross youth activity' in 'youth group activity' were seemed to be higher. Second, In the results of reflection analysis, it was found that the 'academy, culture-art', 'sports activity' fields were similarly reflected in importance thought by teachers in technical high school. However, for 'the work practice activity' and 'youth group activity', except 'the school specialized major', all fields are not properly reflected, independent of importance. For 'the work practice activity', analyses of importance and reflection seemed to be alike but for 'the youth group activity', there was a significant difference between them.

Recently, Economic spaces around the world have changed dynamically. Creative arts and cultural actors have begun to emerge in old industrial neighborhoods of major metropolitan cities. These new actors can be seen as creative actors in arts and culture, as well as non-economic actors that have been somewhat overlooked in the traditional approaches of economic geography. They contribute to overcoming regional economic crisis, as these actors bring a particular deviant and creative atmosphere in the neighborhood. Especially, informal gatherings of artistic communities play a pivotal role in knowledge platforms for dynamics of knowledge creation and creativity, which has a significant effect on shaping a creative milieu in the initial stage of formation of a regional ecosystem. In this regard, this paper will investigate the fundamental mechanisms and driving forces of urban spatial restructuring through a case study of the creative arts and cultural ecosystem in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, Korea. Thus, the main purpose of this study is to identify the formation process and key drivers behind the development of the early arts and cultural ecosystem in Seongsu-dong from an evolutionary perspective.
